Desdemona quirked her head curiously to a side, but she would not press any further... yet. Some things were best left to unfold on their own, like a butterfly's wings. She hoped his insinuation would be half that interesting. Then, though, she couldn't help but chortle. Not derisively, of course; he was a general after all, and she wasn't disrespectful. But it was too funny. "Not that I'm not grateful for the reassurance, " Desdemona purred with a sly grin. "but whether or not you'd have a use for Amphitrite isn't really my concern. It's Desdemona that usually does no one any good. If I'm keeping up the pretense of daily life, at least it's useful to someone this time around." Bar maybe Poppy and Ax - and really, Poppy could've even done without Desdemona because Chrysocolla had Amphitrite, and she fully intended to see to it that Ax would be a convert one day. Barring that and some fun bar hops, it hardly seemed worth the trouble it took to keep up a separate identity. Then, not for the first time, she was face to face with a cat. It was nice to see one of those they had on their side, unlike Ash, too weak and afraid to reap what she'd sewn and join her senshi on the right side of things. A smile of a different kind immediately lit her face; for all she'd been through and all the bitter feelings she had about Ash, it had really done nothing to diminish her fondness for cats as a whole. "Hello. My, what a dapper little fellow you are, " Desdemona crooned, crouching before the cat and dipping her head just as politely in return. "Of course. Here." Then, without hesitation, she fished out her pen to offer the feline.

"She might not be as 'useful' as your other side, but I assure you, I have use." If Desdemona wanted to read into the statement, she was welcome to as Chase wasn't exactly one to discourage such things even if he didn't exactly promote them either. "Every aspect of you can be utilized, it's a matter of discovering the best way to."
Shoulders lifted in a half shrug, long legs carrying him forward until he had stopped behind the mauvian.
"There may be a future where other identities are trivial," he said, thinking of the time that plagued his dreams for so long when he'd hit a low patch and nearly broken. He had wanted to stay away from that future then.
Now?
Now he was pushing for that future. He had survived the rift trial, the war within himself, and now he was surviving the aftereffects that came with his return. Build, break, rebuild, then build something new.
Theodore's maw quriked, spreading to be the best equivalent of a smile he could do in his feline form. "How kind of you, Miss...?" He faltered, pink brows furrowing as his tail swished behind him and he waited for her to provide him her name, whichever she might have prefered.
"It is my pleasure to meet you," Theodore added quickly, dipping his head in a proper greeting before he scampered forward to sit directly in front of her pen. He had to concentrate to open the subspace pocket where he kept the crystal they'd received from the general-sovereign and it was quickly set beside the pen.
"Ah, forgive me Miss, this is my first time doing this on my own," he apologized, ears flicking back and flattening. "Would you please power up and then provide me with your pen?"
The few senshi he'd had the privilege of upgrading had not been their own but the other brand of chaos.

Desdemona's grin was all the answer needed for that. It was what she wanted, truth be told. She wanted power, she wanted control - just as she wanted purpose and wanted to be utilized to her full potential. A matter of looking for a leader? No, that wasn't exactly right. More like seeking out her place still, knowing that Laurelite had corrupted her for a purpose and undying grateful to her and the Negaverse for allowing her to blossom into something strong and and capable. So much more than the weak girl who'd been left to rot for weeks, forgotten and alone. It was ironic, really; before the corruption, she'd had a vivid recollection of that future. Of the woman she'd grown to be, her family dead and desperately seeking above all else the means to protect her identity, to connect with her planet the way others had done. Failing to do that, she'd tried to connect with others, through ways physical if not emotional. In that way maybe they weren't so far removed, even if the motivations were entirely different. Even so. The Amphitrite of that future would have been horrified to meet the Amphitrite she'd become - was still becoming. "Amphitrite, " she provided warmly to the Mauvian. "Likewise, it's a pleasure." Then, Desdemona gave a short laugh, more sincere in the face of a cat. "Oh, of course, no trouble at all." All it took were a few moments and a series of dazzling lights before she could show her true face, her hair billowing out wildly behind her as she knelt to offer Theodore her pen, paired with an encouraging smile, before standing straight again. She glanced back once at Chase, minding his words earlier, although the way she rocked lightly on her heels, betraying again her raw excitement. "Ready whenever you are."

Theodore stared up at her in wonder, taking in every ounce of her fuku and the way her minty hair tumbled down her hair. Dia was still the most perfect, beautiful senshi he'd ever seen but this one, she was something to look at too.
Her pen was carefully taken into his mouth before he set it at his paws and he pressed the chaos crystal he'd carefully arranged for against the pen before he picked them both up again, tossing them into the air when he did his special pen-upgrade-flip-complete-with-sparkles.
The crystal broke, chaos finding it's way toward the intended target and when he landed, her pen and Amphitrite had changed.
Theodore looked immensely proud of himself when he landed, having gathered her pen back in his maw and scampering closer to offer it back to her. "Intrumdophing Etermal Samloir Amphi---" All of his words were muffled around her hensin pen but when she took it from him, he'd clear his throat and say it again.
"Introducing Eternal Sailor Amphitrie of the Negaverse," he boasted, chest puffed up and proud of his delivery.
Chase on the other hand, had stepped back at some point, and stood closer to the shadows that the garage offered with his arms folded over his chest. There was something dark in his expression, a hunger flashing in his eyes when he looked over at the corrupt, and his fingers dug into the once crisp sleeves of his dress shirt, jacket having been peeled off and discarded over Hermes's handlebars.
His jaw ticked, adam's apple bobbing when he looked to catch her eye. "Do you feel powerful now?" He asked, the low gravely tone of his voice a little more strained, like he was working to hold himself back in some manner.

It was funny, the ways in which she did and didn't feel the change. More than anything else, even as her fuku shifted and grew in length, the biggest change Amphitrite felt was a rush of raw power coursing through her. A gasp escaped her somewhere along the process, and when it was through and she looked down at herself - oh, did she SEE the change. Everything seemed longer, more flowing, more elegant. Fitting of a woman rather than the girl she'd been. Even as she reflected on that, it took all she had not to spin in delight and watch the way her dress would pool around her legs. Not in front of Chase, anyway. But what she did do was kneel down, deliberately, pressing her fingers to her lips only to press them lightly to the tip of Theodore's nose. "No Sailor needed, darling, " and she said it kindly, because not everyone knew - anything she could do to distance herself from the order, even in name. Then she added, sweetly and genuinely, "Thank you." Then she stood again, running her fingers once through her hair and flashing Chase a smile. "More than that. I feel like things are, " and she powered down then, returning to the guise of Desdemona in a flood of light, " right. I've wanted this for so long."

Theodore blinked up at the eternal with an almost perplexed look on his face, but he didn't refute her statement and merely nodded. If he could have blushed, pink would have stained his cheeks when she knelt and moved to kiss his nose by proxy of kissing her fingertips and pressing them against his nose.
"As you wish Miss Amphitrite," he mumbled, ears flick and tail lashing behind him.
When her guise fell and she turned her attention to Chase, he too looked at the man unworthy of his mistress's affection, waiting to be dismissed. Anything he could do to prove to Silk that he was the better guardian he would, even if it meant working to receive the stupid-pink-haired man's favor.
Dismissal came in the wave of Chase's hand, the man stepping forward now that Desdemona stood before him and not her 'true' counterpart. It was clear in the way his shoulders relaxed, tension no longer a taut thing straining them up, that he felt more in control and that he was more comfortable in that moment standing opposite of a girl and not a senshi regardless of who she was at her core.
Once dismissed, Theodore disappeared through the cat door specially installed to accommodate his hat.
"There is something inexplicable about being who you are instead of who you pretend to be," he said, a hint of understanding in his voice and words. Like Desdemona, Chase was often a guise and a means to get what needed to be done, done. He wore his first skin as if it were a second one, something he could discard as needed but kept because it was useful.
Because there was a way to control with Chase that Labyrinthite was not always capable of giving. "We'll see what this new you is capable of later, soon," Chase promised, the charming smile on his lips more of a smirk than a grin. "For now, let's catch you up on what's happened while you've been away," he paused, offering her his hand. "If you have a place you'd rather spend the night at, I'll arrange to get you there. Otherwise you are welcome to stay in one of the guest rooms or we can set you up at hotel, or if your previous residence is still available, we'll take you there."

What a cute door for such a cute boy... The difference in Chase's demeanor was obvious. It still intrigued her, perhaps more than before - but again, there was time. She had no intention of leaving any time soon. In any case, his understanding was appreciated; even among those on her own side, it was hard to come by, sometimes. Playing catch-up, yes - she would not turn that down any sooner than the hand offered to her, sliding slender fingers between his with a smile that might have been coy on anyone else but Desdemona. "A great many options, Chase. I do have a place lined up, but it's got little to it until the furniture arrives. Whatever you see fit, " a slight squeeze of fingers, "will be just fine by me."

The willingness to do or be or follow whatever Chase wanted of her was an interesting thing to the man and he quietly weighed what would be the best option for the pair at the moment. Taking her to a hotel meant another car ride and the night was already threatening to stretch itself into the early morning hours. If she had no furniture, then there was no point taking her to an empty apartment regardless of how lackadaisical Desdemona appeared to be about any of the options.
"You'll stay with me," he decided, stepping towards her after a subtle inhale through the nose to ensure he was rightly in control of himself. Once again his hand was pressed against the small of her back and he guided her towards the door in the garage that lead into the house.
"There are several rooms you may choose from," he told her, pulling the door open and allowing her to enter first. "For now, I'd like to keep you close," Chase admitted, in part because the general in him demanded a close watch of the people he took interest in and because he thought she wouldn't seem to mind such a notion.
In fact, from what he could tell, she'd likely be amused by it.
Still, it was something they could discuss later. For now, he'd show her to a room.
