After stuffing his face and trying the blessed darts game, George was back to try again. He lbent down, pulling a duck from the pond with determination, and nearly threw the damn thing back. Lost again!

...Ducks.
Really, Jessie had showed up as a curious sort, looking to ride some rides and watcvh for trouble incognito, but today she'd also worried for her sisyter, and passing a cheesy carnyv game caught her eye -- especially with her stock of big plushies, and Jessie knew.
Rhjian HAD to get one.Jessie planted her money on the table with a sudden motion, noting to herself the best option was, buy a turn, pull a duck, and the woman moved to the tub, bending over, and picked her duck patiently.
It was an impulse really. Pick up the duck, glance under. These games were usually nigh impossible, but today... No, today was special.
Jessie was greeted by the glint of gold and a smile when the duck surfaced, and the black haired woman lit up. A plushie! Not candy to snack on -- but a real prize for Rhian. Soft, loving, comforting for her poor sister.
Well if the ducks were hot... Well, first she picked a plushie for Rhian. Next she'd try for one for Owen.He might like it even if a boy... Right?

Deme hadn't been to a school function in what seemed like forever.
He was always to busy with track and field or baseball that he didn't have time for anything lately.
Though since his team had won all their games. he promised he would at least make an appearance but he figured why not give at least one game a try.
even if it was the easiest one there. he handed a ticket and picked a duck would it be the winner or loser duck.

Stump_Fairy Evren stared at the ducks in the pool. Carefully watching until, "Hmp!" She quickly bent down and reached out pulling up a duck. As she turned it over... there was nothing. Ah well, maybe next time. Evren turned over another duck... once again it was not the duck she was looking for... this truly was a test of luck. Would Evren ever be able to pull one of the elusive ducks?

Ducks, huh? Owen thought this type of game was usually for little kids, since there was a guarantee to win something with every duck, but he supposed since he'd been trying everything else today, he might as well give this one a try too. He stared at the pool for a moment, before grabbing a duck that looked... well, it didn't look promising, it looked like every other duck, but it was a duck and he grabbed it and that was that.
Of course, he wasn't lucky enough for it to be a winning duck, but that was just how his luck was going today. Maybe the can thing had been a fluke? No. No, he couldn't give up. He'd try again, because he had people to win prizes for. Giving up wasn't allowed when the stakes were built on whether or not he might accidentally leave out one of his special people when he wanted to give them both presents!

Duck time! Amigar thought as she walked up and raced to grab a duck. She was so excited and even more excited when she won. This fair was epic and she was ready to try her luck somewhere else next. Nothing could stop her now.

For her next attempt at trying to find the duck she quickly reached in and fished around and pulled out a duck that she managed to get her hands on. She held her breath as she pulled up another duck. This time it had the smiley symbol that she was looking for. With a smile, she handed it over to the clerk at the duck station and was handed the brown dog stuffed animal. Smiling she hugged it and put it into her bag.

Farrah sighed. Carnivals were something she had always greatly enjoyed. The noises, the color, the food, the games... Just the all around sense of fun and lighthearted-ness. She was beyond excited when she heard the schools were throwing a carnival to ear a little extra money. She could hardly wait. And better yet, she didn't have to go alone. She could take her little sister. They could get out, do something fun, and work on their fledgling relationship. She had always wanted to be a sister, and to have family, and now that she finally had her chance, things had not been going as she had hoped...
When she had first brought up her plan to her aunt, she had warned her not to get her hopes up too high, because Sinead didn't like crowds of carnivals. But she had persisted, because how could that be so? Who actually didn't like carnivals?
And yet, Karin was right. Sinead didn't like carnivals, and her plans seemed shot to hell. She had tried to get her to show interest in any of the rides, or food or games. She had started by simply buying some tickets to the games and all but forcing Sinead to try them. But nothing had seemed to work, and they had both been getting frustrated. And she had been almost ready to call it quits when the unthinkable happened. Sinead had actually managed to win a stuffy in the knock down the cans game.
So she pushed her luck further by suggesting they go get something to eat, specifically funnel cakes as it was supposed to be traditional carnival fare but she had never had some. It was a small victory when she had agreed.
Seeing how long the line was, and having her eye caught by this particular game near by, she managed to convince Sinead to stay in line for them both while she slipped away to the restrooms. A small fib she felt was ok. She wanted to try her luck, and see if she couldn't win something for her sister, since she was being a good sport about it all.
Taking a breath, she reached in amidst all the others who were trying their luck at finding the elusive duck with a smiley face on its underside. Their was no way to guess it was pure luck. So once she felt a duck against her hand that she could get a hold of without it being grabbed by someone else, she lifted it from the 'pond' and flipped it over. No luck.
And the line at the Funnel cake stand was getting shorter, so she was out of time. Glaring at the pond with all the innocent looking toys she mentally shook her fist. She would be back to try again. And next time, next time she would win.

sabrina was rearing and ready to go as she raced up to this game once more.
She did the deal and handed in her ticket and then looked for her duck.
"this one," she said as she picked it up with a smile. wondering if this would the lucky duck.

These ducks were going to be the death of him, Owen thought as he glared down at the slowly bobbing fake-flock. They stared at nothing, their painted eyes dispassionate and mildly terrifying. The teenager didn't understand how a game simple enough for literal toddlers to play it could be defeating him like this, but it sure seemed like it wasn't going to stop doing so any time soon. Glaring at the ducks, leaned over and picked up one of them that looked kind of like it was glaring. Or maybe cross-eyed.
Unfortunately it was no more of a winner than the last one had been, and Owen found himself glaring right back at it.
Well, duck this stupid game, anyway. He'd beat it sometime. Probably. Maybe. If he ever figured out how to get better luck than this.
