He could feel her fighting against him, trying to yank her arm from his grasp, but Wolfeite's claws dug into the fabric of her coat, almost strong enough to tear fabric. She was strong for a senshi, he knew this; she was an Eternal and they had powerful magic and that was not to be underestimated, but Wolfeite's advantage in this was sheer brute strength combined with a youma that was howling inside of him.

He did, however, stop abruptly, so abruptly that when he turned to face her, he nearly crashed straight into her. His dark brows were raised in an expression of mocking, casual interest.

"Perhaps not," said Wolfeite. "But weren't you just telling me you don't need me? Weren't you just standing here extolling all of your virtues and your strengths and your total lack of wanting when it comes to what I have to offer? You don't want what I have, remember?"

He grinned maliciously behind the mask, unseen by Stillwaterite, but something in his golden eyes was glittering dangerously.

"If you're so content to remain a useless senshi, then by all means, continue as you have been. I'm here to push you into greatness."

His gaze flicked over hers, almost dismissively.

"Perhaps, if you'd rather stay mundane, then I've made an error in judgement about your proficiency and talent."

That grip hurt. It was combined with that sharp pressure of a threatening tear from his claws, and she didn't much care to return to the barracks later with puncture marks in her arm. She almost gasped again (she needed to stop letting him catch her by surprise) when he suddenly whirled around, and just barely stopped from running into him. The corrupt straightened herself as much as she could from being dragged, and returned his gaze with a hard stare of her own.

Brows knitted.

Wait---

Wait...push her into greatness? So he wasn't just goading her because he wanted to simply be a bully...well, he probably still did, but, apparently he had ulterior motives. He wanted something from her, and that fact alone made her even more on edge than she had been prior. Coupled with that though, was a sudden welling of curiosity. Why exactly did he think he was qualified to do so?

Why.

All the insults were ignored, they were nothing more than drops of gasoline he was trying to add to fuel a fire. "So let me get this straight." Still replied coolly. "You're harassing me because you want to train me?"

He had gotten her attention and he knew it.

The adrenaline was still pulsing through him, shading everything a violent shade of red across the edges of his vision, but Wolfeite tamped down on it, pushed aside the wolf howling in his chest. He had done this before, and he would do it again now, this careful manipulation, this need for a fight, to tear his claws into something.

"I wouldn't call it harassing," said Wolfeite, just as coolly. "That's an ugly term. But yes."

The golden eyes glowed momentarily brighter in the black pits that surrounded them. "You have what it takes, and yet you squander all of your abilities and your strength, and for what? To prove something? How noble of you. I'd think you'd want to be more interested in all that you have to offer rather than set it aside to let it rot."

"It's a term that matches you."

Still's eyes narrowed. She hadn't forgotten that he had backhanded her with little to no provocation, either. Her lip had been swollen and hurt for days after, and it'd been a constant reminder that he was unhinged and she should have absolutely nothing to do with him.

But...

There was always that what if. There was that curiosity. He was a monstrosity, and what exactly made him tick? Why was he focusing on her? Aside from the fact he had run into her when she'd been White Moon earlier. She couldn't even remember it. Just flashes of red and black and those eyes.

"Isn't that what you're doing now?" She returned. "Out to prove something. You're trying very hard to show me, and speaking of, aside from the fact he can't keep your hands to yourself when you don't like what's said, I haven't seen anything of what you're selling. You're just talk right now."

She was feisty and angry and stubborn with him, and this just made her all the more appealing. Stillwaterite was an interesting person on many levels; and now that he had her within his grasp, he wanted to squeeze and squeeze and squeeze until she broke.

He was a patient man. He could wait.

Wolfeite arched a dark brow. "Do you think you should receive some sort of special treatment because you're a woman? That I shouldn't hit you when you're clearly capable of defending yourself against me? I think you misunderstand my intentions; if I don't like what's being said, I see little reason to continue listening to it. Would you rather me coddle and primp and pamper you to get you to where you should be?"

His eyes glittered above the mask, dark and dangerous.

"You have no idea what I've done, senshi. And that is why I've brought you here."

"Do not twist this around like you had the right to lay your hand on an fellow agent for the simple fact that you didn't like it what was said." It nearly came out as a hiss. "Because you did not."

Black eyes cut to the sides again, to see the surroundings once more as he called attention to it. Her gaze snapped back to him though, eyes narrowed, and though she was picking up the shifts in his expression, it did not deter her. It just made her want to stand her ground. "And yet you're still just all talk."

Suddenly, without warning, in a mirroring of their first encounter, Still's free arm extended and she slapped him across his masked face.

"Because I don't like what's being said."

Crack.

The sound of Stillwaterite's palm hitting the side of his face was an explosion of sound in an otherwise empty and echoing hallway. It reverberated off of the Hall's walls, bouncing back and forth; a cacophony of cymbals inside of Wolfeite's ears and his head.

Pain ricocheted immediately on its heels, though it was subsumed by the sheer shock of what had just happened. Wolfeite's head had snapped to the side by the force of the slap and he stayed that way, frozen in place, for one beat.

Two beats. Three.

Slowly, slowly, the ears atop Wolfeite's head swiveled, then flattened back against his head of wild, dark hair. Slowly, slowly, he lifted his chin, and the redness on his cheek above the mask was growing steadily redder. Slowly, slowly, he turned his head to look at Stillwaterite again, every inch of Wolfeite rigid, as though time had stopped, or slowed, or was frozen in place.

His eyes - glowing gold in their dark pits - burned.

A clawed hand shot out, wrapped itself around Stillwaterite's throat without hesitation, snapping as fast as snake in the grass. Without a single word, Wolfeite jerked the senshi forward and then threw her violently and viciously sideways as hard as he could, slamming her into the purple crystal floor at their feet.

"And who says," Wolfeite snarled through the mask. The wolf was howling, screaming inside of him. "You get a voice at all?"

He began to laugh, and it was a deranged, insane sounding laugh.

"You worthless, pathetic b***h."

She knew she was baiting him. Knew it the moment the thought to slap him crossed her mind. Knew she probably shouldn't have but...she couldn't resist giving him a taste of his own medicine. Honestly, the reaction, though terrifying, was also incredibly satisfying.

Those eyes promised death, and she just felt alive in that moment.

Still's throat closed as his hand snapped out, and for a brief moment she couldn't get any air. It was lightning fast though, because next thing she knew she was thrown and rolling down the hall. Her body felt like a skipping stone. Every time she made contact with the floor it hurt, until her body slammed against a wall. The corrupt gasped, rolling onto her stomach and pushed herself up on her elbows, focusing back on the General.

His laugh reverberated through the halls, and it sent chills down her spine, but the absurdity of the situation, and maybe because, deep down, laughter was contagious----Stillwaterite couldn't help but laugh, too. Her's was far more subdued, not as echoing, and honestly, it held a touch of amusement.

"I do." She replied, a bit breathless, and pushed herself up onto her knees. "And the only b***h I see is you." She ached, and pushed herself further up to stand. "Don't dish it out if you can't take it, Wolfeite." And once again, against better judgement, she didn't immediately teleport away.

She wanted to see what this mess would do next.

The youma inside of him was screaming, howling, tearing at him. It was clawing up his throat, seizing handfuls of his veins and shrieking through his mind so that all Wolfeite was aware of was the pounding of his own blood in his ears, a steady and violent hum.

There was the satisfying crack as the senshi's body crashed into the crystal ground. He watched her tumble down, crumpled like a doll with loose limbs, and then finally smashing viciously into one of the curved, jagged walls of the Hall of Shadows with a pleasing sort of crunch.

The thrill of the fight thrummed through him. Violence always did things to him, made his body sing, made him feel alive, alive, alive. He wanted to sink his claws into Stillwaterite's chest, wanted to rip the starseed from her body and watch the blood run down her face as he let his teeth snap into her tender throat.

He was still laughing. It was echoing around them, rippling up and down the hall in erratic, uneven sounds that pulsed and ebbed eerily all around them, mingling with the senshi's own, though hers was quieter. Wolfeite's ears were still pressed back flat against his head, dark hair a tangled mess around him, and he walked slowly towards Stillwaterite, golden eyes glittering. One clawed hand reached up, fingers tugging at the side of the mask, undoing the latches that held it in place, leather sliding through metal buckles.

Slowly he lowered himself down in front of her, resting on his haunches a few feet away, and the mask fell away, tilting to one side. Black paint slid down Wolfeite's face, streaked across his nose and mouth and jaw in jagged streaks, looking like someone had taken their fingers and slashed him from forehead to chin diagonally. The only light were his eyes, glowing fierce and bright and dangerous, ringed entirely in black pits that seemed endless.

He smiled, and all it was were razor sharp rows of teeth and for a moment, it wasn't clear whether there was anything left of the human that had once been Archer Wren at all.

"We'll see, little senshi," Wolfeite breathed. "We'll see about that."

She was playing with fire...no. That was far too tame. She was playing with a bomb, and the problem was that she couldn't see the fuse which would signal the explosion. She just knew it was coming.

The corrupt tensed as the General drew closer, but remained still in her position. She was trying to get a read on his movements, but aside from his ears, which were great indicators, she wasn't sure what to make of his posture just yet. Even when he came to rest on his haunches a few feet from her. She stared back into that face as it was fully revealed, but really she couldn't look away from those eyes. Eyes which promised nothing good, and somewhere in that expression, she couldn't help but feel she had gotten in too deep in the short time she had come to know him.

"The only thing I'm seeing right now---" Still replied, voice soft since he was so close. "Is a dog turning rabid." Her form then blinked away as she teleported, finally ending this horrendous encounter.

But the distance did not put her at ease.

He was dimly aware of a roaring in his ears; of the pounding of his heart against the cage that his ribs made around it; of the blood rushing through his veins.

Of the wolf - the youma - howling and screaming inside of him, clawing its way up his throat and trying to force its way out of his chest. It was shrieking for violence, for him to lash out and attack the senshi currently crumpled in front of him, but he bit it back, forced it away, because he wanted to watch her squirm. He wanted to see that look in her eyes, his own wild and dangerous, wide, sharp toothed grin spreading manically across his face.

The only thing I’m seeing right now is a dog going rabid.

The dog comment reminded him of something - of someone. Wolfeite’s grin spread wider, and wider, and the thrill of anticipation was burning through him even as Stillwaterite disappeared, and he was left in an empty hall.

You haven’t even seen rabid yet.
