Cats. The ones with stars on their heads. Slowly, Pendour blinked. “Oh. The talking ones? So that’s what they’re called.” Based on the way that Encke was talking about the, he must have had different experiences with these Mauvians than she had. Well, if they were the guardian cats of the senshi, and she wasn’t a senshi, perhaps that made sense. Still, there was more to the story. “They’ve been attacking me,” she said, her voice still flat and cool. “One of them, I believe, was just trying to get me to understand the war but the other was very clearly telling me to corrupt or else, so, um,” she ran one thumb over the other, where her skin was still all bumpy from the bite wound, “I’m not so sure if we are all on the same side.”
Space was a happier topic, even with her wonder still filled with the dead. “I don’t know if there’s a good place for them on my wonder,” she said. “I haven’t looked in every building yet, so maybe, but my wonder seems more like a place people vacationed than one where they lived and died.” The word vacation felt wrong in her mouth, and she cocked her head. There was something more sacred to it than that, but she wasn’t quite sure yet what it was. “I can try to take them to another planet, maybe, or even somewhere here a little at a time. That will take time, though.” She hadn’t considered grave digging as a possible consequence of her knighthood until now, and it was a strange one, but she would do it. Although she hated the thought of people drowning in her cove, the bones themselves did not scare her.

“Starting small is fine. There are rooms where I won’t have to worry about that.” She got especially excited thinking about her knight chambers, which sent her designer mind spinning. “Do you know if it’s acceptable to personalize your world?” she asked. “I was thinking of going shopping. I think some beanbags would help make it all cozy, and perhaps some decorations since a lot of the art is ruined.”

Encke had heard that there may have been corrupted guardian cats before, but he had admittedly never run into one of them. It sounded like Pendour had, especially considering the ... bite mark? She had on her arm. He supposed they weren't all on the same side, then. It was unfortunate to have confirmation on that, and he replied, "Well, hopefully we're mostly all on the same side."

"If you take the bones here," offered Encke, with a quiet chuckle, "watch out for looking suspicious." She would, after all, be carrying around human bones. ...Were they even human bones? If she was from Neptune, were Neptunians distinctly different from humans? Considering they lived on such a watery planet, he presumed they had to be. Plus, Enckeans seemed to be distinctly different from humans, especially considering their bioluminescence.

"Saturn seems to have a lot of," was there a nice way to say it? Not really, "death-related wonders. Maybe one of their knights would be willing to help? Or a senshi that has a lot of death things on their planet."

Encke had no idea how Enckeans buried their dead, so he avoided offering to necessarily help with a location for the bones for the moment.

Asking him if it was acceptable to personalize her world drew another laugh from Encke, grinning. "I'd say it is! It's your wonder, right? If you personalize it, that'll make it even more yours." He seemed to like the idea of beanbag chairs, admittedly, and his grin widened further at the thought. "You could make it a nice relaxing place, eh? Perhaps even a place where you could hold some meetings or just hang out, away from," he swatted his hand in the air, "this."

Pendour did not have as much faith as Encke in the guardian cats as allies, but maybe he was right and she was being overly judgemental. "Yes, hopefully we're mostly on the same side," she repeated.

His advice about the bones got a twitch of the lips, though. Thinking about hauling around skeletons in her formalwear was a funny mental image. "Well, I already look strange enough, don't I? Some of us can maybe blend in, but I'm clearly a-" she trailed off, her small smile turning upside down as she glanced down at the shimmering silk of her skirt. "Hmm. You're right. Hiding bodies will most likely not help our image as terrorists." Her ancestor nearly falling into the role of terrorist would not help their image as terrorists.

"Saturn is probably the safest bet, yes, but anywhere that can take a few would be very appreciated. Um." She looked up at him and shifted her braid over her shoulder, running her fingers over the twists in it. "For example, and this is going to sound weird, but if you found a place, could you maybe...?" She didn't actually ask the question, just gave him a pointed glance for a few seconds.

Then, she smiled. "It's fine either way. You can still come up and relax once I've got it a little more set up. I'd like to try to make it a little place of peace, and everyone will be welcome."

Encke offered a sheepish smile when she looked down at herself. He admittedly hated that some of the media insisted on generalizing them all as terrorists--there was clearly a difference, thanks--but he couldn't necessarily blame them for doing so considering the Negaverse.

And even, to some extent, the Dark Mirror Senshi.

That wasn't the point though -- last thing they needed was for Pendour to manage to get herself arrested just for looking suspicious... He opened his mouth to reply, but then she was awkwardly shifting a bit, and he had the sense that she was probably about to ask him something, so he closed his mouth and waited. He should have expected the not direct but obviously intended to be question relating to being able to store ... bones on his planet, and he hmm'd quietly as he thought about it.

Then, he responded, "I admittedly haven't exactly found a crypt yet," not that he had been looking, "but a comet is a big place. If I find a place that seems suitable?"

There had to be something somewhere to give the past ... Pendourians? a place to rest, right?

With a grin though, he added, "But either way, I would also love to come up and relax. Besides for the bone problem, it sounds like a gorgeous place, honestly." And it was space. He had been fascinated by everything from Methone's moon to Scholomance's wonder. She could have told him it was dripping with tar and he would have still wanted to go... probably.

Pendour's brow furrowed as he hesitated, realizing just how forward she'd been. "Oh, it's not necessary by any means," she murmured softly even as he tried to offer what he could. "Please don't go out of your way or anything. I can manage." If not, she would learn to live with the bones on her wonder. If the Saturn knights and some of the others could do it, maybe she too could find a way.

"Anyway, I'll be sure to let you know when I get things fixed up enough," she said, then blinked and squinted. "Well. If I can." She reached down and slipped her signet ring off of her finger and held it up close to her face. She'd gone to all the trouble to get it, and it was supposed to be handy in times like these.

Her inspection not really revealing much, she held it out so that Encke could see. "This is my signet ring. I'm supposed to be able to send messages with it. Do you know if it works for senshi, too?" Senshi were a very new concept for her, but the rings somehow seemed very knight-ly to her. Hopefully the two of them would be able to stay in touch.

Encke shook his head when she seemed to be withdrawing her question, offering a small smile. "No, it's okay. If I can find something, I'll let you know."

Having to figure out where to bury a bunch of remains wasn't exactly a problem he would wish on his worst enemy. (Admittedly, he partially wouldn't wish that on his worst enemy because that would imply that there were a lot of people dead. Possibly caused by his worst enemy. Eek.) He especially wouldn't wish it on someone who seemed as sweet as Pendour did.

If he could figure out some way to help out, he would certainly try.

When she was inspecting her signet ring, he immediately though of when Scholomance contacted him via his own ring. "Yeah! I talked to Scholomance through his, once. Came up on my phone," he pulled his phone out accordingly, showing it to her, "like a video chat. Not sure how he did it exactly but his ring seemed pretty high tech. I assume a lot of them are."

Was hers?

"I don't know everything about knight rings but," he laughed, "we can definitely contact each other. Maybe I can send a text to you or something?"

How would he do that? Hm...

Well, maybe he wasn't taking this so harshly after all. That was good. She wouldn't want to disturb him too much with the darker parts of her wonder, and she certainly wouldn't want to impose, but to be honest she did need the help. She gave a slow and gracious nod, and a simple "Thank you."

Still, none of that was any good if she never saw him again. She frowned at the ring that was supposed to be her lifeline. She tried tapping the top. She tried running a finger around on the smooth interior, feeling any cracks and crevices for secret gears. She tried putting it back on and pressing the signet mark into her thumb. Her gloves might have stopped the effectiveness of that if it did happen to be the secret, but Pendour knew that it was a bit of a stretch.

"It should be able to send letters if I have paper, I know about that much, but," she kept squinting, although at this point she knew that she was more than likely going to need to ask another knight for help. "Hmm."

When he pulled out his phone, she stared at it. She wasn't quite jealous, her ring was lovely, after all, but she gave a little sigh and wished that her communication tool came in an understandable package. Then, it wasn't like she didn't have any phone.

When he recommended texting, her thoughts went in a different direction. "Oh, of course," she said, immediately brightening. She gave a little relieved laugh, and as she did she let herself power down. A moment of blue shimmers later, she was standing there in a fitted t-shirt and galaxy leggings and no shoes. She pulled an iPhone out of her waistband and looked up at him. "This will work, too."

It seemed she didn't know how to do whatever Scholomance had done to speak to him like he had either. He supposed that made sense, Pendour was a fairly new knight. Since she knew Scholomance, though, maybe she could just ask him about it later and for now, paper letters would work, he supposed, though he wasn't sure if she would get his texts back--

Wait.

Seeing her dehenshin into something distinctly not a knight made his heart stop for a moment, even if he kept his facial expression genial. Her thought was that they should communicate as civilians. As civilians. He was still trying to keep his civilian life away from his powered life, and while there were, at most, a couple people who were aware of who he was in his civilian life, the concept of telling more people about who he was didn't sit the best with him.

Especially since this involved exchanging numbers, and he couldn't just put, 'Pendour, Knight of Neptune,' on his phone. That would give him away if anyone stole his phone, and also her as well. And what would Richard think, if he saw that contact, what would he assume--

Calm down, Encke.

It wasn't a big deal, and this was likely the most efficient way to contact her. Perhaps he should just ask her what her civilian name was. That would solve that problem, at least, and none would be the wiser, right? She would know who he was, but it wasn't that big of a deal.

He ran a hand through his hair to help center himself a bit more before finally dehenshining. That probably took way too long. Once he stood there as the actor Ignacio Araya, he shot an apologetic smile and said, "Ah, sorry, kinda zoned out for a second. Long day, eh?"

His senshi phone was no longer the phone he pulled out of his pocket, instead holding a fairly average, albeit nice, phone. He threw his phone onto the new contact screen and offered the phone to her. "I can input my information into your phone too. Name's Ignacio, by the way. Probably makes the most sense to use our normal names for this..."

Even if Sadie had noticed his hesitation, which she didn't, having lovely blooms and the tiniest hint of starlight to distract her attention until she ended up being the one zoning out, she wouldn't have cared. However, he pointed it out and she offered a warm smile as the markings and fancy clothing gave way to something a lot more ordinary.

"Oh, it's fine," she said, then blinked. "Well, I mean, unless it's not fine. Do you need to sleep or anything?" She didn't want to assume, but in any case, she was not offended and she turned her attention to the offered phone as she handed hers to him.

"Ignacio? That's a nice name. My parents were into names like that, too. I'm Sarandon, but I just go by Sadie."

That was what she typed into his phone: Sadie Avamir, and then her number, and then she handed it back to him.

She pursed her lips as she looked over the phones and their nondescript appearances in general. Their secret identities were, of course, supposed to stay secret, and talking at length about space over text would probably give them away. "We'll probably have to be a bit subtle talking about any of this in general," she said, "But at least we should be able to meet up if we need to."

It seemed like a logical solution to her.

At least she didn't seem to mind. Or notice. Ignacio sheepishly replied with a, "Nah, I'm not tired of anything," with a small laugh. To get his mind off his own nerves, he went ahead and grabbed her phone, punching in his information appropriately.

Her first comment about her parents being into names like that made him curious if her parents happened to be Spanish like his father was, but her second comment changed that. "Sarandon?" That definitely didn't sound remotely Spanish. He wasn't sure what the origin of that was. Maybe he'd ask. "I can see why you go by Sadie, haha, but Sarandon is a definitely a cool name. Unusual. I like yours, too."

He was admittedly relieved she was going to use Sadie, though. That was a bit easier than Sarandon.

His name was entered as Ignacio Araya, and he added a phone number as well as a instant messenger contact if that happened to be more convenient for her. He also took a quick selfie and added it as a contact image, because admittedly it was always easier for him to remember who exactly was in his phone if he had a face to go with them, and he liked to offer the same courtesy. After all, as an actor, he tended to have a lot of contacts. Once he took his own phone back, he handed that off to her.

"Do you mind if I?" Ignacio held up his phone, suggesting perhaps taking a quick photo of her in turn. He kept the conversation flowing in general, though, continuing with a, "Yeah! Maybe we can pretend we're setting up like, cafe outings or something. Seems innocent enough. But we're actually going to space."

He laughed.

"Or I guess we can actually go to a cafe if you want, too. That works for me."

Ignacio didn't really want to mix his civilian life with his senshi life, and the concept of it made him panic, especially considering that Richard was already too close, but seeing as the mixing technically had already happened, he wouldn't reject mixing them further...

He didn't exactly know a lot of people that knew both sides of him.

Sadie looked over at him and waited, with a bit of a blank but not unkind gaze until he admitted that he liked her name, which got another smile out of her. "My mother took it from an acquaintance she knew back in high school," she said. "I don't know anyone else who has it, it's only a last name when you look it up, but that's my family. We don't do normal names." Sarandon Avamir. She had a feeling that in certain circles it might have become a teasing point. "So, Sadie."

She reached back and pulled her braid over her shoulder, no longer having the pearls on her to fidget with. "Well, I guess I haven't met any Ignacios either, but that's most likely just. because this is an English speaking country." Then again, Destiny City was a bit of a melting pot. "Actually it's most likely because I'm terrible with names, but," she tapped her newly returned phone with her free hand. "You're in here now, so I should be able to remember."

She took a quick look at his contact page and nodded, twisting into a practiced over the shoulder glance for her contact photo. "I do like cafes," she said. "Of course they have nothing on space, but space has the disadvantage of not always being accessible, correct? Cafes could work in the meantime."

Her face brightened as an idea came. "Oh, or we could get snacks and have a picnic up there, if we can find a nice spot. In short though, yes. I'm sure we can find somewhere nondescript to meet."

Ignacio chuckled. Sarandon Avamir definitely qualified as an abnormal name, but he liked abnormal names. When they were younger, sometimes they drew teasing, but when one was older, having a unique name was a nice way to draw attention to oneself...

"Hey, not normal isn't a bad thing. Don't think any of us are, really," replied Ignacio, with a wink, as he held up his phone and took a picture of her most excellent practiced pose. He quickly entered it into his phone as her contact photo, before he forgot, and then forgot who 'Sadie Avamir' was. Of course, he wasn't likely to forget the full name Sarandon any time soon... "But yeah, my name is Spanish. Father's Spanish." He was tempted to call him something much more obscene than father, but Sadie had no real need to know about Ignacio's family issues, and he didn't want to make things awkward. Instead, he opted to add, "Spaniard, from Spain."

He tucked his phone into his pocket once the contact was fully set up, and he shifted, nodding in thought with her other suggestions. He liked the idea of a picnic, admittedly. Methone had proposed similar when she mentioned the idea of them going to her moon and going to his comet. "Space gets more accessible the more you go up in level," offered Encke, with a grin, in case she didn't know. "Sounds kinda video gamey, but I've heard most Eternals can go up once a week? Knight, for you guys." He paused, before adding, "And I can go approximately once every three days or so. Transcendence thing.

"But yeah, it's not accessible all the time, so if we just want to vaguely chatter space or anything else, a cafe would definitely work. And I love the idea of a picnic in space!"

Honestly, her wonder, except for the bones problem, sounded like it would be a really pretty place for a picnic. He was in.

"Hopefully, we can do that soon?"

Abnormal? Lately Sadie hadn't been worried at all about being abnormal, but she'd always been careful about trying not to sound too snobby or pretentious, or above anyone in general, and her full name had always been a little too borderline on those scales for her feel quite comfortable with them.

"Oh, if even one person was normal things would get very boring very quickly," she said with a light laugh, twisting one bare foot around her other leg. "It's just I like to think I'm weird in more of a Sadie way." It felt nicer in her mouth, too, but Ignacio felt lovely as well. She wouldn't begrudge anyone else for using a long and beautiful name.

"And um, Spain is a nice place? They have the best cherries?" That was probably not right to say, but it was that or going off about how her family was not made of blood and she had no idea where her melting pot of genes were from, but she was also not about to pour out her family issues on a man she'd met ten minutes ago.

Space was easier, and she listened to his explanations. She wasn't sure how long she, as a Page, would have to wait between trips still, but it sounded like he wouldn't have much of a problem with it.

She gave a firm nod at his conclusion. "Yes. We should have a space picnic soon."

Weird in more of a Sadie way seemed to suit her, and Ignacio shot her a grin when she said that.

He thought he was weird in a more Ignacio way, perhaps even an Ig way, but the world would be considerably more boring if everyone was just weird in the same way, too...

"Ah, las cerezas," replied Ignacio, to the comment of the cherries, with a laugh. "Admittedly, I've never actually had a fresh cherry in Spain, but I've heard they're amazing. Relatives said they are, anyway." He had actually never been to Spain, period, and in some ways, bitterness towards his father and his father's family had made him never want to visit the entirety of the country. Over the years, the anger had lessened, though not at them; perhaps some day he would actually visit.

For the moment, though, he was more interested in visiting every place he could off the planet.

"But, anyway," he shot her a grin. "Space picnic it is."

Sadie slowly spun in a circle with her arms out underneath the branches of the fruit trees, twisted and small but still glorious, and she smiled. "The ones here make a decent substitute," she said. "They're a little heavier, but they're delicious in their own way."

Mmm, though now she'd be craving proper cerezas all night. Well, it might be possible to order some before they met up again. They still wouldn't be market fresh, sho it wouldn't be the same, and it would take a little time to prepare everything, but it could work. It might be a little indulgent, but he seemed interested enough that it wouldn't be rude.

She blinked again. Ahh, she was getting tired now. "Well, I should probably head out soon," she said. "It's dangerous late and all, but I will text you." She nodded. It was a promise.
