Red huffed. Clearly he'd just have to be in charge of their pack then. "Fine, I'll be in charge of your pack then," he said. The addition of another apple to his rapidly diminishing pile of food had him grinning. He nudged it closer, just in case Kinley had thoughts of taking it back. "I don't mind raisins. . . as long as they're oatmeal raisin!" But raisin masquerading as chocolate chip was gross too.
Red's eyes got stuck on the wallet. That was neat. He wanted one. The picture had him jumping to his feet and rushing forward to snatch it out of Kinley's hand. Tail wagging a mile a minute, he focused on the older grimm in the picture. "Her! I know her! She was there and she told off that Ava and she was amazing," his volume rose as he grew more excited. "You live with her??" His gaze pivoted to Kinley's. "You can introduce me and then I can leave with her and not be here anymore and then when I get bigger I'll be the best alpha there ever was and you can be in my pack and you can be the shaman or whatever the other thing is," his words flooded him in a rush, tail moving faster and faster as he moved closer until he was mere inches from Kinley's face.Words: 226

Kinley frowned, "that's not how it works, red.. you can't just make yourself leader. You have to earn it.. prove you're worthy of it." He explained, putting the rest of the food into the bag. He didn't like raisins, at all. It was weird that red did but to each and their own.
Kinley watched reds mood completely change when he showed the picture to him. He didn't really appreciate him taking his photo from me. He listened to him talk a million words a second, raising a brow. "Yeah... Mama mink is amazing and she adopted me after I talked to her mate.. the old alpha and shaman." He explained, "she has another kid too." He added.
As red talked about going home with mink, kinley frowned, "Red... That's.. not how it works.. you can meet my mom but she already has enough kids. She can talk to you about alpha stuff... But you can't just take over. My brother will likely be alpha cause... He is blood." He looked down, not bothered by how close he was to his face. "But... I wouldn't mind being your shaman..." He added.

"Who do I have to fight." It was a statement, not a question. Red had no problem with having to fight to be in charge. In fact, he might have even been eager for it. None of the other grimms he'd seen had seemed like good inclusions for his pack. Maybe this already formed pack would work out better for him.
Honestly, Mink's mate was the one he really wanted to talk with. He was so strong and big and nobody messed with him. Red for sure wanted to ask him some questions and learn from him. "I don't need another Mother," he replied, scornfully. "I'll be the alpha of my own pack. I just want. . .advice on what she does so I can be even better!" After all, how could he not be? Kinley had just met him and already wanted to be a part of this new pack he would have. "Then it's settled, I'll be alpha and you can be my shaman!" Words: 165

Kinley's brows pinched together. "Red, you aren't listening. Jacie is the alpha... You don't earn alpha by fighting. You earn it from being wise and a good leader." He told him, moving to stand up... His tail tense as he listened to him. "Well... My mom can give you advice but she is going to tell you that fighting isn't the answer." He explained, "part of being a leader is knowing when to fight and when not to fight... To keep your packs wellbeing in mind." He added, grabbing his bag. He didn't like what the other way saying. "...I think it's time to head back." He told him, moving towards the bush. "They will know we are gone soon." He turned back around and took the picture back, putting it back into his wallet then into his pocket.

Jacie. Red filed away that name for later. He'd find him and show him who was alpha! Seeing Kinley stand up, he bristled, ears flat against his head. As Kinley moved to pick up his bag, Red stepped in front of his things to make sure that Kinley didn't think about grabbing any of the rest of his stuff. He growled softly. Didn't matter that the other grimm was just a bit bigger than him, he better not touch his stuff. Kinley's entire explanation went in one ear and out the other and Red didn't retain anything but the part about fighting. Having the picture, which he'd forgotten he had, taken from his hand had him snapping at Kinley.
Gathering up his food, Red shoved a good half of it in his mouth and crammed the rest in his pockets. A couple of the drinks he opened and drank as fast as he could, ignoring the tight feeling in his stomach. One or two would be fine if they were left here, so he nudged them out of sight and the lone apple juice he picked up to carry with him. "I'm not going back like some scared-y coward!" he growled. Then he pushed his way past Kinley and back into the open, where he darted off away from both the freshling area and Kinley. He'd had enough of the other male. Words: 232 Total Wordcount: 1,871
