Kerras Farron
As they entered the library, the sight of the charred ruins filled Kerras with melancholy. It was sobering to see a place that was once so full of knowledge turned to little more than charcoal. In their mind's eye they tried to imagine what the place had looked like before the fire: grand, vibrant, with the comfortable smell of aged leather and pages... Now they could only smell the bitter stink of smoke. Kerras wrinkled their sniffnode. As they passed by a shelf, they brushed a blackened tome with a finger. The book disintegrated at their touch, leaving behind a pile of ashes and a dark smudge on their fingertip.
Rounding the corner, Kerras saw a group of other trolls, mostly their own age. However there was also an older yellowblood off to the side, tearfully regarding a flower. Kerras could relate too well. The death of anything could be tragic, although flowers had a shorter lifespan than most. Leaving her to her grief, they turned their attention to the others. Admittedly, they were disappointed that they did not have the block to themselves, but they could learn more with teamwork. They started toward the group, crossing a narrow plank over a large sinkhole.
“Hello!” Kerras called, waving. Beneath them, the board wobbled. They held their arms out for balance. “Whoa! Have you found anything yet?” They hopped across the remainder of the gap and all at once the board splintered and tumbled to pieces below. Kerras glanced shame-faced back at their comrades. “Um, oops...”
Miraculously the podling had made it across without incident. It shovelled fistfuls of charcoal into its mouth without a care in the world.

Quella Fehtan
Quote: 4: OBSTACLE: An enormous picture frame that used to be hanging on the floor is now directly in your path. Walking around it means you're definitely in the sinking floor, but walking on top of it means avoiding huge shards of broken glass.
Quella strode at pace with the wigglers, settling at her familiar predator's lope. They weren't quite as fast with their tiny little legs, but she was getting used to shortening her strides just a little to make sure she didn't lose them. She sniffed at the inside of the house carefully, trying to catch the scent of the phantasmal, but only got a snoutful of ash and soot. She blew out to clear her nose then sneezed daintily. These stupid ruins were completely ruining her sense of smell.
Kerras skipped ahead over a small plank which fell into the depths of the mansion behind him, and Quella held her breath as they did so. She gave them a grin as they rounded on the group sheepishly, proud that he'd managed to cross without incident. That plank never would have held her weight anyway. After thinking a moment, the blueblood turned and picked up a HUGE picture frame that was lying nearby, bridging the gap for the other two wigglers with a THUMP. She hopped neatly over the pit herself, landing on the other side like a huge pouncebeast.
Quella waved to the other party on the far side, hoping they might be able to point her towards some more riled spirits. "Hey!" The hunter said with a wave and a smile. "You folks see anything a little more... interesting around here?"

2. HAZARD: You stumble over the remains of a bookshelf, which leaves its splinters in you as it shifts even more dangerously towards the center of the room.
Eiylas Zumeng was going to have a heart attack. Right there and then, right in front of everyone.
She had stuck with the group of kids (and one teenager who certainly may as well have been a wriggler) in order to see them to safety. Yet at every turn, she was further and further surprised at how reckless they could be! First, bounding across that plank and now taking a whole painting! How did she even manage to lift UP that painting?! This world was mysterious. Needless to say, the look she gave Floren was easy to read paired with her shocked pointing at Quella. "Did that just... Okay! We gotta do something or else we'll fall behind, right?"
With a deep breath, she and Tuzi softly hopped across the painting towards the others, to meet up with the myriad of other trolls. "Wait up! Come on, Floren we're gonna be left behind!" She'd be lying if she said she wasn't amazed at this point. Kerras had to have some amazing luck, and Quella well... Quella must have been supertroll or something. Was Floren going to have magic plant powers next?! Who knew, given their current situation!
Distracted by her own thoughts, she took an embarrassing little trip over the edge of the painting once she reached the other side, only to hop right back up and brush herself off. "There we go... oh!" Her palm was stinging, and when she turned to look it over there was clearly a big splinter in there. "Mmm... Excuse my manners, its a pleasure to meet you all." Ely chattered away while pulling out her splinter, keeping a careful eye out for any chance of blood. "Have you managed to find anything... ... would you like a tissue?" The question was innocent enough, steered towards the yellowblooded lady. But even that served a double purpose. It'd be an excuse to pull out bandages should she need some as well, to quickly hide any evidence.

This... was not going very well at all. Skoli was having a very hard time navigating the room without causing further damage to the structural integrity of it, which was slowing Floren down. At least Quella seemed to be making an effort to not get too far ahead? Not that he'd mind- at this rate he wondered if it would be safer to just go explore by himself. He had plenty of experience navigating fragile and questionably sound buildings. "I can't move much faster, my lusus will be lagging behind..." He sighed, shaking his head and Ely's urging to keep up. If they wanted to move on ahead he wouldn't complain.
Kerras seemed quite nimble- though that near accident had Floren internally seizing up a little. Jumping across the hole shouldn't be too much of an issue- that train of thought died as Quella lifted a painting and used it to make a makeshift bridge. He shared a glance with Ely that said We've gotten ourselves in over our heads... before stepping forward after her.
"Ah, here. That looks suspicious." He pointed ahead, figuring he might as well stay where he was. Two of their four party members seemed like the type to rush on ahead once something was pointed out. He'd rather stay behind and observe. "Did you get hurt when you fell? I have a small first aid kit in my box..." Floren looked to Ely and frowned slightly, noting that the floor around the painting seemed pretty... jagged....
