But whatever. At least Dessie wasn't super rude about it. Though she wasn't nice about it either. Lovi just smiled the best smile she could manage right then, which wasn't a very good smile, and nodded her head. "Yeah, okay. Right. Google it." So what if she sounded a little snippy? She'd deal. They probably wouldn't run into each other ever again unless she came down this way and Dessie was busking again. And that only mattered if Dessie made a habit out of busking in the same spot. But the people she knew who did that only stuck around if they were really good and that place they picked was crowded like daily. All the rest moved around.
"Well, thanks again for the save." Lovi straightened herself out and rechecked her hair for the abuse spot. Still sore, still tender. What was with people these days, anyway? "I should get going, and I'm sure you want to like, get back to work." Or go home and shower or something. Obviously neither one of them was super interested in running to the police.
"And good luck!" She gave an emphatic wave that sent her bracelets jingling. Then, after walking backward for a few steps, Lovi turned around and started down a different alleyway than the one they first picked. Cutting across town and giving that place a wide berth seemed like a really good idea about now. In fact, she wasn't sure she wanted to walk back to Romano's as Lovina right now. Maybe Chrysoprase would have a better time of it while she thought about that self-defense lesson.
Yeah, that was a way better idea. Find a dumpster, transform, go home, take a shower, cry, and curl up with a magazine and one of Xi's plushie gifts.
