Damage 1+3/2= 2
Yitzah hits herself for 2 damage. Great start, Yi.

|| If you roll a 1 you epically fail and deal 1/4 of your total dmg to yourself (If you manage to hit your opponent, they receive full dmg, but you still hit yourself. Applies to magic also.
So in this case: (1 + 3) / 2 = 2 (/ 4 from attacking self) = .5 damage to Yitzah.

CORRECTION FROM FIRST TURN - she dealt 1 damage to herself, so she technically has one more health than previously recorded

(12 + 3) / 2 = 7.5 (/ 4 from attacking self) = 1.88 damage to Yitzah.

I am probably not the best person to try and explain the magic system, but gosh darn it, I'm gonna try.
So you are allowed to take up to five spells into battle with you, and each of those spells has a designated number of "slots."
It looks like you designated Spiritual Insight as one of the spells you take into battle, but because your character is a magic class, this isn't necessary. When the special attack says it "uses 1 spell slot," it just means that when you cast the spell, it will take one of your others spells limited uses. So if you have: Water 5/5, and you use Spiritual Insight (Water), you'd have only 4/5 Water charges left. You can use any element you'd like, so it frees you up to add another spell to your roster!
