Mordred would not be de-throned. She would inherit this couch, make it her domain, establish trade with the hostile nations of Banks and Pietro. She would resort to warfare if she was not given fair deals. That what good monarchs did right? Alas, the kingdom of Mordred the upstart did not last, Pietro the betraying taking her prized confections and her throne. "НЕEEEEEEEEEEТ" She whined, knowing full well trying to actually engage the taller man in a fight would have been: 1- Leading to her being grounded hardcore 2- Rude, as they had a guest. "a*****e in Russian is Pietro." She gave said man an indignant shove, scowling as she shuffled in her new seat. Eventually he'd have to get up for the pizza, which was when she planned to reclaim territory back from this cruel despot. Leaning over to look Banks in the eyes she nodded. "Yeah, I picked the now Thor because apparently it's got Hemsworth shirtless scene. I know what I'm about." She looked at them then grinned. "Unless we wanna play Netflix roulette and see what comes up on the horror section? But don't worry Banks, if you get scared, Pietro can give you a hug. He's better at them then you'd think." Her grin was mean at her guardian. Secret was out, he was a softy.

Kavinsky made sure to give Mory a pointed look when she said a*****e in Russian is Pietro. He did not, however, attempt to refute her claim as she wasn't wrong she just wasn't technically correct.
Slowly his gaze shifted to the man on the other side of him, white brow lifted to challenge him and see if he would agree with his charge or not. It was unclear what he would do if he agreed or not.
"We've already decided on the movie, Thor. No horror." He was stern in his statement, picking up the controller that waited for them since the movie was already up on the somewhat small television.
It might have been better to do it at Banks's but he'd thought about it too late.
"Mory, leave Banks alone or no desert."

Eyesbrows arched and his mouth widened into a large grin at her brash comment.... that is, until Kavinsky turned to give him a pointed look. The wide grin was quickly stifled into his best attempt at a simple, sympathetic smile but it was clear that Kavinsky had finally met his match and Rob was enjoying every moment of watching him deal with a teenage terror.
"Hemsworth shirtless, you say?" The arched brows waggled in the direction of the teen's as he moved to relax back onto the couch, "Well by all means, count me in."
Hugs from Pietro sounded about as welcoming as a punch in the face by Pietro, but he didn't feel the need to bring up the fact that he was probably more huggable when one was a fourteen, fifteen year old girl and not a thirty-three year old man.
Details, details.
Settling in for the movie, he found himself amused right from the get-go. It was easy to find himself absorbed into the movie's plot, despite the smallness in screen and the lack of decent speaker systems. The acting was good, the special effects were spectacular and the ---
As the door knocked, Rob rose without a second thought. He'd already been well prepared to compete in a race to the door, wallet at the ready as it slid out of his back pocket.
He wouldn't be much of a sugar daddy if he wasn't at least paying for this junk food excuse of a meal, right?
Handing the young man at the door a few bills, he waved him off with a soft keep the change, so as to not disturb the others if the movie still had their attention. His gaze transferred over towards the couch as the door closed, hazel eyes daring the other man to even try arguing with him over the bill.
Setting the box on the breakfast bar, he shook his head and glanced away, searching for plates.
"I bet every cookie in the box that there's not a single vegetable on this thing, is there?"

Banks was easily winning points in her book. He didn't even bat an eye on why she picked the movie. "He gets me Pietro. He gets me." Later, Mordred made a note to tease Kavinsky about the fact that look, Banks already knew how to deal with her so it's not like he'd have trouble dating Pietro so yeah, ask Banks on a real date not this almost date but not a date because she was there date. God, she may be only 15 but really, these grown a** men pretending they didn't wanna tonsil hockey were worse than the girls she saw at the shopping malls outside of Clair's. At the arrival of the Pizza, the movie was paused and she had an internal debate. Get up and get food, or, remain seated and wait for Pietro to get up so she could grab his seat. Unfortunately, the smell of melted cheese and tomato sauce won, and with semi-reluctance, she vacated her place upon the domain that was the sofa. "Well." Mordred shrugged. "Depends, would you consider the tomato a fruit as is scientific, or a veggie as it's used in various dishes?"

"Конечно, он тебя достал, у тебя такой же вкус у мужчин." Kavinsky retorted, opting to go for his more 'native' language than english if only to purposely leave Banks in the dark. Maybe he was chastising her or maybe he was making a dig at him. Either way, neither spoke enough Russian to be able to decode what he was saying.
Shortly after Mory removed herself from the couch, K followed, to collect a single slice for himself.
"There's mushrooms too," his brow furrowed, and silver eyes glanced at the piece on his plate before he returned to the couch before Mory could sprawl across it once again.
"Next time, we'll do this at your place and you can cook something with the appropriate amount of vegetables. Now quit bitching and eat your pizza.

He might have been in his mid-thirties but it didn't stop the lawyer from making a face at the other man for intentionally reverting back to his native language. Rob ignored the approaching Russian, choosing instead to debate semantics with the younger teenager.
“There's about as much vegetable in that sauce as there is in ketchup. But that's alright, everyone's entitled to some junk food now and again.”
The mushroom comment earned a low uh-huh but the suggestion that came next had him pausing, an eyebrow rising as his hand strummed across the empty plate on the table.
“Sounds like a date to me,” he countered back, his tone coming across about as smug as he looked. “You two don't even know what you're in for - it'll be the best home cooked meal you've ever tasted.”
Hell, he probably didn't have much competition in that category.
He stared at the pizza in front of him, long after the other two grabbed their slices. One hand reached for the smallest slice...and then diverted towards the salad mix. The grease was already seeping through the cardboard, causing the lawyer’s stomach to churn.
How had his stomach gotten to the point where he couldn't even yearn for pizza anymore?
The bitterness was suppressed as salad made its way to his plate before he returned back to the couch. The leaves would be picked at and chewed on slowly - attention more focused on both the movie and on getting comfortable. Shoes were soon nudged off, landing on the floor with a thud as he settled in to watch more of this superhero film that had his young friend infatuated.
“I can appreciate Thor,” he idly commented between swallows, fork randomly waving in the air, “But I mean, is he the strongest Avenger? Because I'm thinking the Hulk could still take them all out.”

Mordred gave Kavinsky the most incredulous look she could muster when he spoke Russian she didn't know. One day, she would, and then- oh then the heavens would rain down terror upon any who dared to think she was going have a fast one pulled on her. "Ketchup is the king of sauces; it's the base for BBQ, a wholesome staple of any decent home, and, it looks like fake blood in a pinch. Only a fool would tarnish it with a vegetable. Don't bad mouth my most favored of condiments." Next to black pepper. Seated, Mordred gaped as Banks suggested a date. More than a date, a home cooked meal. Mouth opened and closed as her brain tried to spin this to her and Kavinsky's benefit. If for vastly different reasons. "I accept the date, so long as you'll take Pietro to a fancy place sometime." wiggling into her seat, it wasn't the smartest thing to say but, she really would like a nice dinner. this was already so nice. It felt... It felt warm. Like she might be okay. At the movie rolled on she leaned into her guardian, pizza finished. "Nu-uh. That's cap. Cuz he lived through the depression, nazis, Bucky dying like twice, Peggy dying, Tony selling out- Cap's the strongest." Her head drooped a while later before she managed to mumble out. "Thor is a beefcake."

Kavinsky rolled his eyes at both of them, Banks for insisting that the home cooked meal would be the best thing ever or Mory for trying to weasel in something 'fancy' as a bartering tool. Her obsession with attempting to set him up would have been endearing if it wasn't so annoying at the same time.
He didn't do relationships, sometimes he had long-term hook ups, and his thing with Ellis was an exception, something born of having mutually needed each other since they were ten and eleven respectively. But, if his kid wanted to try, then he was going to let her try.
"Disagree, Winter Soldier is. You don't go through what he did and make it out functional if you don't have an enormous amount of strength." It helped that he knew a bit about the soldier's background, how he'd been integrated in Russia and the red room and things like that did things to someone.
"Enough talking. Eat. Watch."

"You would like the angsty, aggressive type."
His own dish had been abandoned onto the coffee table in front of him, Banks's picky stomach now content as he watched the screen in front of him. He had half a mind to bring up Tony Stark into the conversation - man was a hot gazillionaire with high-tech gadgets, who couldn't love that? - but he found himself distracted by Mory's specific requirement, an addendum even. She didn't ask for them all to go to a fancy dinner, she asked for him to take Pietro to a fancy place.
Was she implying that she thought they should....
No, that was silly.
"Of course, I'll even let you pick out where we go out to."
Amused, the smile played on the sides of his mouth as a satisfied Banks allowed his head to fall back onto the couch. It took several minutes before he himself found his focus blurring between talks of Grandmasters and Valkyries with that of daydreaming thoughts. Slowly... slowly... his head started nodding off and as he tried to shift to keep himself awake, his head slid onto the surprisingly comfortable, firm shoulder of his fellow couch companion before he too was slowly dozing off.

If asked later, Mordred would say no, she was just resting, not sleeping. But lo, as she drifted off, she flopped gracelessly against Kavinsky, eyes shut and belly full of pizza (and some salad). She was asleep, and it was almost miss-able as she unwittingly wiggled further into him to become comfortable, and let out a soft 'papa' when she finally settled.

In the end, it was just Kavinsky who remained awake when his companions decided that he was the most comfortable thing to fall asleep on. Luckily, despite the shittiness of the couch, it wasn't too uncomfortable and he'd wrapped one arm around Mory and leaned back against Bank in return.
When the word was uttered from the girl's lips his body tensed, gray eyes wide, and he'd stopped stroking her arm. A mix of conflicting emotions flooded through him but, privately, he smiled.
"Yeah, kid, I'm your baba." Kavinsky mumbled, content for the first time since he'd made up with Ellis.
