"You think so? I thought it would have been a bond made over wine, but I suppose chocolate is just as indulgent. That and I think neither of us are quite the age for wine in the first place." One after another he added the ingredients to the mixture, watching in amusement at just how much Evren was enjoying their time together. Little by little he found his own amusement.
"So far, so good. Hrm... It's a little warm, but I think it's fit to set into the molds." Landry dipped just the very tip of a tasting spoon into the chocolate and waved it around slightly to cool it down enough so it wouldn't burn the hell out of his mouth. But instead of tasting it himself, he placed it in front of Evren's lips with a half smile.
"Would you like to be the judge to see if it's sweet enough?"

Evren barely waiting for Landry to finish his sentence latched onto the spoon in front of her. After a second she pulled back with sparkles in her eyes. Putting both hands to her cheeks. "It's good!" With a cat-like grin, she pulled the molds closer to them. "I can't wait for them to be finished!" She said eyes closed while giving a big grin.

Alright... Landry would have to admit that was just a little on the cute side, and he smiled again, putting the spoon in the sink once Evren was done with it.
"Soon soon. It won't take long at all to set in the blast freezer." Rather than let her take the molds and potentially drop them, he picked them up himself, balancing them with one hand and skillfully popping them into the freezer.
Five minutes. That's all they needed to wait before they could leave. And yet he didn't really mind the wait.
"So tell me more about yourself, Evren. What do you actually like to do besides eating chocolate and knitting?"

Evren smiled and tilted her head in thought. Letting out a humming noise she puckered her lips. "Well, I sew pretty much all of my clothes... and my cat's clothes, oh! Um, I help out at my parent's pet clinic with pet walking and grooming!" Evren then laughed nervously. "Sorry I don't really do a lot of interesting things... What kinds of things do you do Landry?" Evren said in her usual cheerful tones.

"I didn't ask for interesting things, I asked for things you liked. Not every thing we do has to be interesting. One of my preferred time hobbies would be binge watching cooking shows. Your hobbies sound very cute, and fitting for you, I am sure." Animals seemed to fit Evren as naturally as her bright hair fit her. Endearing in it's own way.
"As for myself... Cooking, baking, photography, I like all those things. Naturally I gravitate to instagram to show it off. If you'd like to look it up, It's @SaucePot."

"But the stuff you're into sounds cool!" Evren stared blankly for a few moments her mouth slowly going from her sweet smile to a thin line. "What... what is... " Her eyes squinted as she was trying to wrap her head around what he was saying. "Insta-gram." She said stretching the word out awkwardly.

Landry couldn't stop the look of surprise that arose on his face at the comment. She couldn't be serious, could she? Even grandmothers vaguely knew what Instagram was! And even if that wasn't the case, surely she must have seen the icon of it beside the facebook and twitter icons. Hell, even this even was advertised on the site!
"... You can't be serious. You are my age, right? It's been around for nearly 8 years. Even if you don't have an iPhone, it's common knowledge at this point. I won't even answer that question." Whatever steadily warming feelings he had been having towards the girl were quickly snuffed out. She couldn't have been nearly that out of it to not know, and he truly didn't take lightly to such silly jokes, especially not when he was already doing his damned best to be nice.
Instead of responding to that, or anything else further, he went to the fridge and pulled the chocolates out, giving them a small poke. with the edge of as spoon. Good. They were solid and he could leave soon.
"Do you have your little baggie ready? It's time to split them up."

Evren blinked. "It... it is? I've been relearning a lot of things these past four years..." She started playing with her hair. Bringing her hand up she felt the scar on her head. "I've been really focused on trying to graduate high school so... I don't know a lot of the technical stuff... " Shrinking down as she wasn't sure why he was acting so different. Playing with her hair it started to fall out of the curly style she had it in. She really didn't use computers and only used her phone to take pictures of her cat. "It was a really bad head injury..." She mumbled. "A... are you mad at me?" She said fumbling with her bag.

"It's not technical stuff, kid, it's observation skills. It's common sense, it's paying attention to the world around you and noticing what things are. Whatever friends or 'help' you've been receiving in these past four years seems to have been useless. Even this event was posted to twitter." Landry had no time to polite anymore, nor did he have the care to. He had tried his damned hardest to be patient but... Head injury? Memory problems? Lack of self awareness?
He had not the care to deal with any of it.
"No, I am not mad." He finally spoke again after silently dividing up their treats and offering her one of the bags. "It just seems you may have a bit of a higher patience requirement than I really feel up to dealing with. You are a sweet girl, yes, and friends we can be, perhaps, but for a date? I am no teacher of anything, and don't truly enjoy explaining every little thing I come across. Yes, certainly, that may not be the case, you may know more than I am assuming, but the possibility of having to teach you anything seems more of a burden than I'm willing to taken on."

Evren twisted her fingers together. Bangs falling over her eyes for a short moment as she reached over and took the bag presented to her. "Um... of course." Evren put a fake smile on her face even though there were clearly tears in her eyes. "I'm um... sorry for ruining your day..." Evren picked up her bag putting it over her shoulder. "I didn't mean for you to burden you with anything... it was fun today... and I-I really am glad you spent the day with me... e-even though you don't want to hang out with someone like me." Evren brought the chocolates to her chest. "I... won't trouble you if you don't want to be friends... I mean... I'd probably get on your nerves."

Yes, Landry's words were harsh, but he hadn't expected tears to form. why were such people so soft to every single little disagreement or honest word they had? It made no sense, and frustrated him.
"I did not say once that you ruined my day." He said firmly, putting a hand on her shoulder. "Did you not hear what I said? I said we can be friends, just that I didn't want to feel like I was a teacher. You said you had friends who can help you already, so then why not get caught up on your popculture and the world around you moreso than you are now?"
While it was true, he couldn't wait to be rid of her, and that she was edging further and further on the point where she was annoying him, he wasn't about to shove her away like a total jerk. Not when there were so many people casting glances their way as her body language definitely pointed to something being wrong.
Damn, what had he done to deserve this?
"Don't you put words in my mouth, Evern. Here, give me your phone. I'll put in my number and install instagram, so you can figure it out on your own. Now stop crying, it's simply not necessary."

Evren sniffed. "Are... you sure... I just don't want to burden anyone..." Quietly she pulled out her phone that was in her bag and handed it to Landry. "I... I'm not crying! I'm smiling so its impossible for me to be crying." She exclaimed hugging her bag close to her... even there were clearly tears coming down her face. "If I was crying then people would feel sorry for me... and I don't want to burden anyone with those kinds of feelings." Evren watched carefully. "...." Her tears coming to a stop. Landry wasn't sure at all what this girl was getting at as he half snatched her phone away and jabbed his number. It almost felt manipulative, in a way, insisting that she was fine... Ugh...
"You are crying, and of course you can cry when you smile. People do it all the time, but clearly, you are not happy. You keep talking about burdens. Burden this, burden that. Friends are supposed to help with those burdens. But honestly, how quickly you got over it, it seemed, It feels like you're playing at another game." Rather than hand her the phone, he just dropped it right back into her purse.
"Either way, let's go. I'll walk you back to the rest of the event, and then we can go our separate ways... Ugh... I feel a headache coming on."

Evren blinked and jumped slightly when her phone was dropped in her bag. "Game? I'm not playing any games..." Evren just nodded and let herself be guided back to the event. "Um... I have some painkillers... if you need one."

Right... Right. This girl couldn't possibly be playing at any games. To Landry it felt like she simply wasn't bright enough to come up with some sort of conniving scheme to earn sympathy. Perhaps she truly was just... Daft and overly emotion.
Right now, he simply just didn't want to deal with it any further.
"I'm fine. I think this is where we part ways, Evren. I do hope you find the rest of your evening pleasant. Thank you for the scarf." What was he even supposed to do in this situation? Awkwardly pat her shoulder and then turn on his heel and leave? Probably not, but he did just that anyway, offering the girl a few pats on her arm, then promptly turned and headed right out.
Damn, he was more than certain that the moment he saw Lori he'd be chewed out for leaving his date all by herself. He didn't care though, and kept right on going. Lori was smart, she could find her own damn way home.
