Charity events were, as far as he figured it, all about giving to whatever the charity was. That in mind Alexandre had agreed to going to the ball with Aiden, much as he hated Valentine's day. In all honesty he would have preferred to remain at home curled up on the couch, preferably with Aiden, watching some sort of movie and trying to forget what the day was.

However, a charity event was a charity event and it meant there was someone, or several someones, who were in need and he might as well do something however small it was in order to help - right? Maybe it was also some under the table way of giving Aiden what he was sure the other wanted, to spend the day out like the couple they were. Sometimes he wondered how Aiden put up with how he was when it came to public displays of affection, or even showing they were a couple in public, but he was glad the other dealt with it and even accepted it for the most part. As they entered the event he silently hoped Aiden knew what he’d gotten himself into tonight, the room was just..he wondered if he could contain himself tonight.

Pressing his face to the others side, to try and block out all the colors and decorations, he managed to catch a peek of flowers. Corsages and boutonnieres. Normally not something he was interested in...but they were nice, and the money was going to charity, so letting go of Aiden’s side he went to purchase one for his partner. Returning to Aiden’s side Alexandre moved to stand in front of the other and pin it into place while pointing out where he’d gotten them.

He was wasn’t running late, for once, at least he thought so. Looking down to his watch told a slight different story, though he really wasn’t that late, as he arrived at the ball. Why was it that he was always late? No matter how hard he tried it seemed unavoidable somehow, bad luck perhaps?

Either way he took a moment to glance around, time enough to calm himself, and that was when he spotted the small corsages that were for sale as well as whatever those things which went onto suits were. He really didn’t know what those were called, and he didn’t much care for the idea, but he did think Fiona would appreciate a corsage so he went to purchase one for her.

It was while handing the money over that he wondered if it wasn’t something which could be taken wrong...by her or other people, since they were no longer dating. But friends did it also - right? At least he would think so if friends were going to a dance together, rather than let each other go alone. So it wasn’t that odd and would give the wrong impression, at least he hoped not. That in mind he let the cashier take his money and he took the corsage and went to find Fiona, all the while wondering if she had purchased the other thing for him or if she had purchased herself a corsage, rather than expect or even think he would. She wouldn’t mind two, if that was the case, right?

Lucifer Force
<3

Zachary Calloway was not initially the kind of person she knew a lot of people could see her dating. Crass and often foul mouthed, he cared little for how he dressed most days and even less about how he thought of himself. He was, essentially, her polar opposite and she loved every minute of it.

Born to a family of money, well earned in many respects, Melody hadn't wanted or needed for much in her life and grew up with expectations of great things from her gift of music. Clothing mattered, her manners were to be absolutely perfect. She had a name to uphold not even because of the money her family held but also due to the fact her mother worked in a well known law firm and was working her way up. When she moved to attending Crystal Academy appearances and behaviours were so much more and yes she had tried to find an indentity for herself among such a place it hadn't garnered her much in the way of friends except for those who cared to get to know her because she wasn't like many of the other girls.

That same struggle only returned when she finally made her way back to Destiny City and though she was initially fine with not having any of the connections she'd once had before leaving... Life had been a struggle to readjust to. Sure she'd managed to find a job, managed to put herself back into a war that was kind to nobody, but without friends it was lonely at best. There had been regret at having just up and left everything behind for a moment of selfish bliss that had, admittedly, done her well.

Zachary coming into her life had, cheesily, been a breath of fresh air even when she'd done nothing but put the poor boy in situations that often left him out of place. And though he did his best to make sure he didn't embarrass her he also managed to find ways to make her feel like she wasn't better then him in anyway despite how he felt about their differences in standing. In just a few short months he'd become someone so special and important to her it had been hard to refute that she had stronger feelings for him.

Even after they moved from friends to dating he still managed to make her feel so welcome in his world despite their differences so was it really any wonder that she was nervous? Not only was it their first formal date, probably their first /date/ date since so much kept them busy, but she was due to meet someone even more important to him. While she was probably going to be nervous about meeting his sister eventually, this was basically a mother figure in his life and mothers were intrinsically important to children. Adopted or otherwise.

Following her roguishly handsome boyfriend to a table selling flowers for donations, unaware what he was up to until he was handing money over, she blushed as he was ever so gentle in tying the corsage around her wrist. How could he be any more perfect?

"You say that but but people still manage to find something they don't like about someone." A small, nervous frown as she glanced over to the many flowers for sale. Well... her family often did donations for Valentine's Day instead of doing romantic outings... She wasn't sure if her mother had made donations already but it wouldn't hurt to give them more money. He needed one to match after all.

Smiling faintly she picked out two boutonnieres and a corsage before pulling money out of her purse to pay for them, making sure to let them know to keep the change.

"I just want to make a good impression, you know? I would hate for something to upset the bond you two have." She would never forgive herself. Tucking one of the boutonnieres, as well as the coursage, in her purse for later Melody moved to attatch the other to the lapel of his jacket. It matched the color of the one he'd given her and she couldn't help but to notice how well it seemed to fit with the color of his tie. Which oddly enough reminded her of the green of his fuku.

"Now, we should really go and find your friend before I lose my nerve again." A sweet smile as she took his arm once more. "And don't let me forget to give the other one to Itsuki, hm?"

A charity ball! Not just that but it was for valentines day. Oh! It was perfect and genevieve had the perfect dress for it, which was no surprise considering the size of her closet. She had more dresses than most people could or would ever need, and she actually managed to have worn each one at least once. But this really was the perfect event and something she had to go to!

It was, sadly, not the sort of thing Christa would go to, she was not such a social butterfly, and Genevieve didn’t want to push her friend to come with her. It’s why the elegantly dressed girl, dressed in red and black with gold jewelry, was hoping Jada would be at the event. She really should have called the other, but she had spent hours searching her closet for this dress because she simply couldn’t find it and nothing else would do.

Proud she had found the dress, and knowing how good she looked, Genevieve was happy with how things were going as she stepped into the ballroom and glanced about. It looked nice and there were, thankfully, alot of people here. So far she didn’t see anyone she knew, nor did she hear any voices she knew, but she hoped someone was here that she knew - anyone really. She didn’t like to be alone, especially at things like this where they were made to be socialized at.

It was at the front entrance that she spotted the table full of corsages and went right to picking two of them up, one for herself and one for Christa even if the other wasn’t here. She hoped the other would like it anyway, she would give it to her once she got home from the event. She didn’t know what the other thought of such things really...the other didn’t seem so….girly? Though she didn’t like to use the word girly really...maybe feminine fit better? But she didn’t like that either really. Deciding not to continue to dwell on such a thing Genevieve shifted her attention back to the flowers for people to purchase.

They money from their purchase did all go to charity, right? So she really did want to purchase another but who to give it to? Her mother would, without a doubt ,get flowers from her father so maybe she should get something for her father? He would be home tonight, fairly late, but she could leave it for him. She was already had ordered flowers to be delivered to her mother at work, something she had done well over a week ago, knowing that her mother did love flower arrangements and tended to keep one in nearly every room of the house plus at least one in her office.

After some moments of thinking things over she scooped up one of the flowers for men to wear, though she had no one to give it to right now, and paid for the three items without a single thought to the money spent - it was cheap and her parents would, when they saw the bank statement, understand the small expense on it. It really was nothing when compared to how much she had charged on her fathers card in order to purchase her mothers flowers...now that would have most people thinking she might be a bit...over the top. But really her mother had been her best friend as she’d grown up, how could her mother not be? And as she had grown older she had gotten closer to her mother and while she had always had her own friends, she was a social butterfly after all, her mother was still her number one friend - always would be.

Mmmm….now though what to do with these flowers? Where to put them….? Tapping her foot as she mused this over she spun suddenly pulled out her phone, setting the items back down for a moment, and after some words were exchanged over the phone with her families driver, she knew better than to drive in heels, Genevieve scooped the flowers up after hanging up and spinning on her heels she headed outside to leave Christa and her father's flowers with him, he could drop them at her home in the fridge so they would keep before he headed himself home. That done she was able to head back inside, corsage settled about her own wrist as well - perfect. All was perfect, as it should be.

Having arrived early to the charity event, Fiona looked around at all the couples and groups of people in line ahead of her. Young women wore beautiful dresses, idly chit chatting with their friends or partner; each and every one a princess in their own right but the dressed many of them wore just made it feel that much more so.

In the background, just above the sounds of people talking amongst themselves, some of the most beautiful music played. From what she could see, a few of the musicians played with their eyes closed as they lovingly played their instruments in a melody that set the perfect tone for this event.

While waiting for her turn to buy a boutineer Fiona could feel the nervous butterflies take flight in her stomach. It had been almost over three years since the last time she wore this dress. Shockingly enough it still fit, even more shocking is that moths didn’t get to it first. When compared to some of the other dressed it really wasn’t what she’d call over the top; light blue in color with a few rhinestone details, tasteful at least. A part of her actually wondered if Fionan would recognize it since it was the last fancy thing he saw her in at the masquerade ball months before they broke up.

He was a genuinely sweet guy and really didn’t deserve what ended up happening between them. All because she had been told not to trust anyone with the biggest secret in her life; he had every right to hate her, but he didn’t. It took time but he reached out just before the holidays for some help and since then they continued to slowly reconnect. Phone calls after work to just say hi, much like they use to, it made it almost feel like they had never been apart.

What if I’m wrong, what if all he wants is it be friends and I’m just reading into all of this? Fiona knotted her fingers together while worrying her lower lip. The line moved, and she moved with it. I’ll have to try, for his sake. I owe him that much for what I put him thought…

From behind someone tapped Fiona on her shoulder, “It’s your turn.” He commented, voice low once he had realized that he’d startled her when she turned to look at him with doe like eyes.

“Oh… sorry…” Her eyes darted away.

Stepping forward she handed her cash over to the woman on the other side of the table. “One boutineer please.” The woman smiled and took the money, stowing it away in the register before motioning to the table and telling Fiona to go ahead and pick one.

With a courteous nod of her head and nervous smile, she picked the one nearest to her then stepped out of they way so the bubbly young woman could help the next doner. In the meantime, while she waited for Fionan she headed over to where the musicians were playing and took a seat, enjoying the distraction until he arrived.

Aiden glanced down at his partner, somewhat amused by his behavior. He seemed far more alright with the idea of coming before they walked through the doors but now he was acting almost as if he regret agreeing to come. Either way, Aiden seemed unconcerned by Alexandre’s mood because he knew that by the time they left, he will have had a good time. That is, assuming that things don’t evolve into a scenario reminiscent of the masquerade at the Umbrae hotel back in 2015.

“Why thank you.” He smiled once Alex finished fastening the boutineer to his vest then leaned forward to press a kiss to his forehead. That was one thing he did like about their relationship, although he would never comment about it in a public place, but the fact that his partner was shorter made interactions like this feel more… right.

“Give me one moment and I’ll go get yours.” That’s right, Alex wasn’t going to get out of this without wearing one as well. In a way, it was kind of like a promise ring, wearing one meant that he was taken or spoken for.

Unfortunately had gotten a bit longer in the time it took to run back out to the car to grab his wallet. How it had managed to fall out of his coat pocket was beyond him but it was the reason he left the coat in the car; plus it was bound to get a bit warm in here with all the movement going on.

“One boutineer please.” Aiden grinned at the young woman who seemed quite eager to take his money. He, however, paid her no mind and selected the flower from the table and went back to where he had left Alexandre waiting.

“Don’t move.” He playfully cautioned before going through the same motions his partner did when fastening the flower on him. “And done. You look… amazing.” The look in Aiden’s eyes appeared genuine enough as he then turned to escort Alex into the main room as a proper gentleman would.
