Vermina post 2

Straining to scan through the various bodies huddled across from them, Vermina started pacing back and forth. Maybe if she just got a different angle? Maybe her mother was just really grouchy and hid in the back of the other group?

Shuffling about with a much more agitated step than usual, Mina sucked in a sharp breath when she bumped into someone. She turned to apologize, and was shocked by the sight. Another hybrid! The Alkidike influence was clear on this one, but so was the.. shifter? That would explain the short height... "My apologies," she quickly murmured, tearing her eyes away from staring. While she was slowly growing accustomed to the increasing presence of hybrids.. it was still a process.

Danika Post 1

Normally Danika would been inclined towards some form of excitement at the concept of leaving Chibale. Not that she enjoyed leaving Aisha's side for long but she always had a vice of curiosity that would spur her towards doing things not exactly expected from one in her situation. Exploring and hearing about others outside of Chibale had been one of her habits but now that she was older, quickly matured from the threat of the Dretch and her role as mystic, the Alkidike was content to be home. In fact she enjoyed the feeling of being next to her mother and to bring forth new life which was why seeing the hatred in those green eyes startled her. They just seemed so bloodthirsty with that anger against her Sisters, that disgruntlement with this meeting burning those pale gazes a vivid green.

While she had heard stories of the Elarians it was nothing in comparison to the feeling of finally seeing their cousins. While others danced with a nervous energy, many on edge as if prepared for a fight, Danika found herself studying the two groups, her stomach twisting both from nerves and from frustration. At first she had thought the Elders and her Mentor were jesting when they said they were going to allow the Extremists and their spawn into Jahaur but their expressions had held no smiles when they proposed the gathering. And here they were, both parties staring at each other with their weapons on hand while the leaders along with Danika stood awkwardly in the center of it all. It was obvious that there was tension in the air as the Alkidikes still distrusted their more ambitious Sisters while those who had been exiled spat curses and muttered under their breath about the weakness of the earthling lovers. Could they really trust those who were so full of hatred to work with them against the Dretch? Some of those gazes would have her more inclined to believe that they would rather help the Dretch to exterminate everyone!

And then there was concern that perhaps this gathering could incite another rebellion, another attempt for the Extremists to divide the Sisters who had not been exiled yet still held hatred for the earthlings. After all it wasn't like all of them held the most pleasant of feelings for their neighbors, just a vague understanding of cooperation for survival. It was such instincts which had brought this group together as many feared the Dretch and what they could do. Though it did not appear that all the Elarian were so scared of the Dretch. The thought caused a wry smile, just a faint flicker of some bitter amusement, and Danika found herself turning away from the strangeness of the Elarians to instead focus on her Sisters. It seemed they were antsy, many eager to have this meeting over with while others seemed to be looking across the way. Perhaps to scan the crowd for Sisters they recognized and had thought to never see again? It was indeed a lot to take in and Danika found herself taking a quiet breath before she turned to watch the Matron of the Extremists and the Elarian whom she believed to be their young mystic approach.

Strange to think that this girl who was so different was in a sense closer to her than the rest of the Sisters in the meeting hall. Did their tree speak to her as Aisha did? Was she protective of her Elarian Sisters as Danika felt of her own? Did she prefer healing or did she want to be a warrior to fight alongside them as Danika did? Did she find comfort in helping with the blooms as Danika did? There were so many questions that she could ask, but Danika knew that it was only necessity that brought them together today and she doubted that any Elarian, mystic or not, would even think of being tempted to be pleasant with an Alkidike. But who was she to be afraid of the Elarians? The Dretch were by far the greater threat and it was with that thought in mind that Danika straightened her shoulders and boldly gave a nod of greeting towards the other young mystic.

Tyiva Post 1

Tyiva shifted through the crowds. It was strange to think of all the changes that had occurred since her departure to Belrea those few months ago. Yet here she was a hand resting on the blades that were nestled at her hip as she studied the Elarians standing before her. She couldn't resist the sneer that crossed her features when she saw an Extremist glancing her way but movement, the appearance of Danika had her pause. It was worthless to get caught up in the strangeness and the hatred of the Extremists and their...spawn. Tyiva crinkled her nose at the thought. To think that they dared to try and reproduce without Aisha's blessing, no wonder their next generation was so awkward with their red dreads and gray skin and those green eyes....

Tyiva shook her head before moving closer towards the center so that she could be as close to Danika as possible. Should anything happen she wanted to make certain that she was close enough to defend the young mystic.

Rishima Post 2

Rishima found himself scanning the various face in the crowd, giving a pause when he spotted their own young mystic. He watched her for a time then found himself sighing, his antennae giving a little twitch. How many mystics had he known in his time? He felt that he really should greet the new one, to offer his strength to her if it was required of him. He still wanted to help even if he didn't so much want to fight any longer.

Giving a slight jump as someone bumped into him. Turning his attention to his much younger sister from the looks of her he gave a smile and said in a gentle tone of voice, "It's quite alright, sister." He blinked his mismatched eyes a couple times, watching her as she pulled her gaze away from him, not seeming as though she wanted to look directly in his direction. It was something that caused him smile just a bit before he said, "It's alright, I don't bite. You don't want to worry about me." A comment that made him chuckle a little, wanting to break the tension between him and those from their 'side' at the very least.

The Only Black Uke

Ceylinae Post 2

The longer they waited the more of their 'cousins' that seemed to gather. Enough so that it was making her more and more uncomfortable, making her body twitch a bit. This was exactly what she'd worried about, that they would find themselves so out numbered. What if it all ended up being a trick or something? Giving a little grumble under her breath she found herself taking a couple more steps closer to Naqenni so that she could stand alongside her sister.

Once there she said, "What do you think?" She found herself wondering if they should flank their mystic, to make sure that she was kept separate from the Alkidike that they couldn't really trust. What if they had ill intentions toward their mystic? What if they hurt her or worse? It wasn't something that she wanted to allow, instead wanting to keep Nivalis safe from the dangerous that the world presented her. The Matron had dragged them all here to try to make friendly with a bunch of traitors and hybrid freaks. It was something that shouldn't have happened, they didn't need these people... and they sure didn't need to meet them on their turf.

Shaking her head to clear her dark, spiraling thoughts she turned to look at Naqenni and said, "Should we step closer to our Mystic? To act as her shield until we know what they might be planning?"

NIVALIS
Post: 2

She couldn't say that she allowed her gaze to linger on any single 'opposing' Alkidike for even an instant more than any other individual. They were just a sea of bodies and dark eyes, as compared to the little cluster of family with her. Nivalis still wasn't entirely sure she had much of anything to say to the mainland Alkidikes. She had no knowledge to offer them for their problem, nor did she intend to ask for help that she was too proud to need. Her presence here (along with that of her sisters) did not feel like it had meaning at all...

It felt like all she could do was be resigned to the fact that she was already here, and a good handful of those she loved had trekked with her. Whether there was actual purpose to walking into their den, she and her sisters had already done it, and it was too late to undo.

The most they could accomplish now was to look proud and unaffected in the face of the Alkidike numbers...

Niva' green gaze flicked down, down to one of her eldest sister's palms. Naqenni was near enough at her side to be in range to reach out to, though not so near that it would go entirely unnoticed. Even if Nivalis was a girl who treasured that contact and wanted that comfort and nearness, she strongly doubted that Naqenni did. To hold her would be admitting to that discomfort. She did not want to appear weak. Naqenni probably didn't, either.

Instead, she curled her fingers tighter around her spear, digging her nails into the bone and scouring out tiny indents with her worry. Naqenni and Ceylinae were near enough that even over the dull buzz of anxiety and whispers, she heard Cey's inquiry. "No," Nivalis murmured softly. "I am not a child or doll who needs to be shielded. The fact of the matter is that if they did attack us, with these numbers compared to ours, there would be no stopping it. Accept that reality and be not afraid. Stand proudly. I will do the same."

Naqenni | 2

When Ceylinae approached to her side, Naqenni glanced, but otherwise remained still, listening when her sister spoke and feeling her antennae give a coiled twitch at the question, the focus of her gaze at least moving back out over their sea of enemies. On the one hand, she wanted to. On the other-

No…

Her attention flit Nivalis’ way — I am not a child or doll… — and she breathed out, a certain stubborn resignation settling into her posture. While Naqenni was cross with the outcome of their journey, cross with every aspect of even the thought that they would be here under these circumstances let alone the reality, and had been frustrated that Nivalis went along at all—it seemed clear at this point that her mystic was not much more pleased than she, simply doing a better job of tampering down outright hostility.

And it must have been unsettling, for Nivalis most of all, to have to participate in heading something she did not wholly agree with. Besides, she was right. They had made it all the way here with the numbers they could afford, which, no matter what, was not and could not be enough if it came to violent conflict.

Still.

“If they make to harm you…” Naqenni began, “Ceylinae and I want only to be near enough to see to it that there are those who regret that choice, and that their home soil tastes the blood of their mistakes…”

It would not be a battle that could be ‘won.’ But if it came to it, she intended to expend the last reserves of her energy seeing to it that more of them went down than her one.

|| Alkidike/Elaria IC ||
The Matron could see that her Elaria still weren't keen to the idea of meeting anyone from the mainland. Watching as the small crowd that was there were near bickering about how to behave themselves, she was about to give them her signature look before she could see them visibly straightening themselves. This was a new experience for them, but for now they were handling it well.

Eshe watched as the elaria and the extremists that they had outcast so long ago came back to Jauhar. Their faces showed that they weren’t the most enthusiastic to be here, but with the Dretch Eshe knew that this had to happen. It was weeks ago when the Alkidike council had convened and decided to respond to the Elaria’s letter. They had wanted to form a plan, make the odds of their winning against the Dretch as high as they could while there was still time to establish a strategy. She looked across at the extremists and could see the Matron, and with her what she could only assume was a new mystic… and this one was Elarian.

The Matron still didn’t approve of their weaker Sisters’ attitudes and ideology in their way of living with the earthlings, but when it was a matter of obliteration, and the possibility of the destruction of Aisha, she had to swallow her insults and arrange for this meeting. They had sent a letter out weeks ago, these monstrous Dretch an obstacle that needed to be swiftly and effectively overcome. She had brought with her Nivalis, the Elarian mystic, and in an effort of good faith had instructed her party to resist the impulses to be rude or aggressive. There was a time and a place, and this was not it.

With the group of them together, the mystics met in the center of what was now a circle of Aisha and Elzira’s children. ”Sisters. It’s good to see you’ve made the journey safely.” Eshe addressed them. ”It would be better for us if we took our meeting to the Elder’s Hall.” She gestured deeper into the village.

Zigaran Post 3

Zigaran's orange eyes seemed to shine for a moment, rather pleased with Mnyiri's words about him being able to 'uproot trees with his bare hands'. Giving a nod he said, "If I am lucky I will be able to pull off such a feat sooner then later." The stronger he got the better warrior be made, the better warrior he made the better he'd be able to serve Aisha. Something that he really did want more then anything else.

Turning to glance to the ones that everyone was referring to as their 'cousins' he said, "I don't know what to feel about them. I think, as a hybrid that wants to be given a chance from our sisters I think I should give them the same. At the same time I don't think they care for us given the way they look at us. So... maybe they don't want that chance?" He doubted they cared for the Alkidike but they probably though even less of those with mixed blood since that meant that they were tied closely with the Earthlings as well since they had their blood flowing through their veins.

"Best to be cautious and keep an eye on them all the same." Just as he was saying this the Alkidike mystic Eshe was calling out to the two groups, saying they should take the meeting to the Elder's Hall. It made him wonder if only those of importance would be allowed along but he meant to follow for as far as he could and learn as much as he could.

Ceylinae Post 3

Ceylinae's antennae all gave a twitch, turning to look over her shoulder at Nivalis. She starred for a moment at the mystic before turning away, cheeks coloring ever so slightly, "I meant no offense by it, Mystic Nivalis. I just don't want them taking any pot shots at you." Even something as simple as a dirty look or if someone dared something as base and foolish as throwing something. Even if it wasn't any true violence she still wanted to intervene on behalf of Nivalis. She didn't want this group of 'cousins' to be able to dirty Nivalis or attempt to infect her with their weakness.

Turning toward Naqenni she gave a little nod of her head. There was also what she said, wanting to be be able to retaliate if any of them thought to attack. She was sure what they should do is stand tall, ignore any looks they got, and be the more 'mature' ones here. What she wanted to do though was throw down if their cousins started anything. Shaking her head to clear such thoughts. She'd follow the lead of their mystic and hope the matron didn't lead them astray now that the older woman had returned 'home' where some of their Alkidike brethren seemed to want to be instead of back home on Yael.

Turning as were told where they were going she gave another twitch of her antennae. So they were heading even deeper into the village then? Something that put her a little more on edge but it seemed like it needed to be done, "Here's to hoping we actually get something out of this." She muttered to those closest to her.

Vermina post 3

Flinching slightly, Vermina shook her head. She was about to say it wasn't fear of him that made her turn, but surely anything else would just offend him? Hybrids could be touchy, after all... The woman- wait.... man... the man was laughing. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad? "That.. is good to know," she replied with a hesitant smile of her own.

Watching the mystics gather, Mina felt a pit in her stomach. This seemed so risky, and was Eshe gesturing deeper into the village? She... wasn't certain about being stuck in a building with all those angry faces... "Can't we just stay out here?" she objected quietly, not really intending for anyone to hear. She would go as she was directed.. but she wouldn't like it.

Pruu post 3

Pyrrha's silly grin was an odd bit of comfort during this stressful meeting. Pruu continued her pacing, keeping as alert as she could to both the surrounding flora and her family in the circle. Her ears twitched when she heard the other elder speak. Sisters? They were not her sisters! Like many, Pruu stiffened at the offer to go deeper into the village. If this was some sort of trap... Hissing her disapproval sharply, knowing that actually voicing any disdain would do no good, she moved to stand a little closer to Pyrrha again. Nivalis had Ceylinae and Naqenni on hand, among others closer than Pruu was, so she would be protected.

Mnyiri ll 3

"The one I spoke with on Yael didn't notice I was a hybrid; she just thought I was a sister who dyed my hair and that's how I played it." Mnyiri shrugged her shoulders with a half-frown. "I don't think they care either way, honestly. You're either one their team or ours; no in betweens, no defectors. I think they're only here to save their own butts." Desperate times, indeed. They had their chance to make amends, even after the war, but the moment the elaria were born their choices were made as far as Mnyiri was concerned.

"Come on, Mvua,"
Mnyiri patted the side of his neck, urging her radaku to his feet. She doubted he would be allowed in, but she wanted him close. "I'm a little worried about being in the Elder's Hall with them." She leaned in close to Zigaran as they walked, sparing several glances over her shoulder, "Can't be good to have all this tension indoors, you know? Seems like we'd be better off out in the open to let all that steam fly away."

Pyrrha ll 3

When it was announced that they should move, again, Pyrrha stood slowly. She watched as the alkidike led the way back to their 'Hall' while the...other alkidike and elaria followed suit. The young archer paused a moment to pick several of the mushrooms and fungus plants she'd been toying with, stuffing them deep into a pouch at her side before rising once more to join her sisters.

In both the communal and literal sense.

It was obvious how Pruu hung back to be closer to her than Nivalis, and while the sentiment was sweet, she almost wished she hadn't. It was easier to put recent events out of her mind with her sister being a little further away. However, with Ceylinae and Naqenni flanking her, there wasn't much room for either twin at Nivalis' side, and thus...here they were.

"I wonder if Elzira can hear us all the way out here...." She murmured,
going out of her way to walk through every patch of standing water she could. Her feet would be absolutely soaked by the time they got there, and would no doubt leave marks in whatever kind of hall they were being taken too, but Pyrrha didn't care.

Pruu post 4

Brow cocking slightly, she looked toward her twin with surprise. She had not thought to question if Elzira could hear them this far out... "I prefer to believe she can hear us anywhere, so long as we make sure to speak," she replied, whether or not Pyrrha was actually expecting a reply at all. Surely Elzira would be able to hear them wherever they might travel! Now, if Elzira's guiding touch could reach them out here... that was something she was uncertain of.
