"Reaper bloodline? Reaper law?" Something slowly clicked in Yue's mind as the puzzle pieces slowly found their places. She had been puzzling over why Nemesis had a scythe for a tailtip, but she still hadn't grasped why they felt such an odd, yet strong, connection to each other. She remembered a long, long time ago before her training ever started, how her father, the now retired Sanzo, would recount his adventures to her and her sisters.

He had kept certain things out of the story, of course, the more brutal and explicit things, but for the most part, his adventures had fascinated her. Yue frowned to herself, trying to dig into the memory. She looked at Nemesis with renewed respect as she listened to him describe his family. "Close ties to guide you on a path that will keep you from being lost, eh?" she commented, mulling Nemesis's words over.

As if on cue, her stomach rumbled and her cheeks had a dust of pink. "Ah, yes, I'm pretty hungry, actually." She wasn't sure, exactly, where they'd find food, because from what she could tell, they were in an area that had long since become scarce because of their presense--or maybe it was because of Nemesis. He seemed to keep growing more and more smoke for some odd reason, but she couldn't pinpoint how he was doing it. His smoke seemed to be alive, a very real part of him.

Just like her scroll was very much a part of her, and sometimes, she felt the scroll was alive, too. At any rate, she didn't want to express that because the sutras were so powerful, it took away a lot of her energy when she started chanting, so she had been forced to learn to fight in a different way to survive. She would only use the scroll if she had no other choice. But Nemesis didn't need to know that.
