"Come on, Ujiri, keep up!" Honestly, was he born with two left feet?! Or was it the antennae making him walk so funny? Either way, she didn't let it deter her, and if she would have fallen she could have just picked him up. It's what sisters did.

Well, maybe she would have, until he started copping attitude and causing her cheeks to puff out. "It's not the bush, stupid! It's what's in the bush." Ika pointed at it dramatically, and finally, the little one gussied herself up and stepped closer. She dipped her fingers into the branches, pushing them back one by one until finding the treasure within. "Seeeeee?" Within the confines of the bush was a rather large, decorative satchel. She'd never seen anything that fancy before in her life, not even when all those shipments from Oba came to mama Ujana's tavern. But the bag wasn't entirely pristine; there was a tear on the front and several dark patches, one that scarily looked like a bloody handprint...

"What'cha think is inside? Mitza's too scared to touch it, but I think there might be something special in it."

He glared at her when she called him stupid. "Ika, you're the one who is all excited about a bush!" Ujiri was convinced it was just a regular, ordinary, everyday bush. But then she claimed it wasn't the plant she was looking at but what was hidden inside it. He tilted his head to the side, trying to see past the tiny branches at what she was talking about. Then his sister finally moved some of the twigs out of his way. "Ohhhh... see now why didn't you just move the branches to begin with?" He would never understand how she thought he knew what she was thinking. Must be a twin thing.

He took note of the stain on it and shrugged his shoulders. "Only one way to find out. Open it." Though he did grin at her. "Unless you're scared too." Ujiri couldn't miss the opportunity to pick on her. After all, she had called him stupid a moment ago.

It was like he didn't have a flare for the dramatic at all! Why would she have brought her brother all this way, risking a harsher punishment from their mothers, just to ruin it all with some lackluster display? Ika crinkled her nose, bright eyes curling, and for a moment she was ready to harass him some more, but...

...he started in on her, instead!

"I'm not scared!" Her little cheeks were puffed out and a deep mauve, flushing as much as they could given her skin coloring. She wanted to pinch him again, but instead, Ika made the move to go forward. She undid the straps on the bag and opened it, almost hesitant as she looked inside. What if there was something really weird inside? Like a hand or something with big eyes? But it wasn't as if she could back out of it now! Not with Ujiri egging her on...

With one final, deep inhale she ripped the bag open and looked inside. And...was immediately disappointed. "What's with the rocks?" The youngling plucked one up from the bag and twirled it around in her fingers to show her brother before motioning toward the bag itself. Of course she had no idea that what she held were runes; a set so pure in color they almost looked like golden crystals with strange shapes carved into them. "There's some gold at the bottom, though, so it's not so bad."

"Uh huh.." Ujiri taunted.

He smirked at the color in her cheeks and watched as she went to open the bag. He wasn't scared of the bag. He was curious about its contents though. So he moved in closer as she peered inside, going up on his tip toes to try and see over her. As Ika mentioned rocks he sighed and rolled his eyes. "You brought me here, got excited over a bush, and now you show me rocks. Here I thought I was gonna see a skull or something." If the blood had been any indication then he was expecting some carnage. Like when Matlal left bits laying in the yard.

"Ika... you have a fever or something?" The mention of gold made him arch single brow before nodding. "Ok, that's a little better." Still not all the exciting to him since he got to see gold all the time when mama Jana counted the profits of the night.

"Now what?" He questioned her.

"I thought it was gonna be a skull too!" Ika pouted, obviously whining in the dense, jungle air. Sure, there was some blood on the coins inside, but that was it! There was nothing creepy about this at all! Her brother would be so mad if he found them messing around this stuff, but honestly, what was exciting about rocks? What was the point in coming all the way out here, before Mitza of all people, for rocks?!

"I guess we take it. Our mamas don't have to know about the gold; we can split it. What should we do about these things though?" Ika reached in the bag for the whole lot of them and held the runes aloft. For a moment they were simple and still; just a set of ordinary stones, but in an instant she felt her palms burning. With that sensation came a rush of color into the stones and when they started to glow Ika panicked.

Her first instinct was to get them as far away from her as possible and in this case that included shoving them at her brother.

Take it. He looked at the rocks and then the bag, unable to see the gold at it's bottom. Ujiri gave a shrug of his shoulders. "Sure, why not." He could spend the gold. When Ika asked about the rocks he took a moment to think. As he did the stupid things started to glow and his sister decided to push them into his hands instead.

"Ika!" He hissed at her. Now with the stones in his hand they went back to being normal rocks. He held them in front of him like they were a flea infested pup. Once he was sure that they weren't going to be all glowy again he slowly brought them back toward him. "Why don't we give them to mama Jana? She might be able to use them as decoration or something." Heck, if they glowed like that again then they could use them at night instead of the lamps.

When he looked at his twin again he snorted then laughed. "You were totally afraid of the rocks." Ujiri doubled over as he couldn't contain his amusement. Closing his eyes and continuing to laugh he felt tears coming out which made him laugh all the more.

"I was not!" Ika pouted, still very clearly shaken up by it. How come they glowed when she was holding them, but they weren't doing anything now? It was probably some stupid trick of Mitza's. Or maybe Ujiri did it! Just to spook her for teasing him! She stomped her foot on the river rocks, so very unamused by her brothers laughter and with her lip curled up into a pout, Ika bent over to lift the satchel off the ground.

"You can give them to her; I don't want them." And maybe, when she saw what he had, he'd get in trouble because where else would Ujiri have found something like that except in a spot he clearly wasn't supposed to be? It would serve him right for laughing at her!

Reaching up, Ika gave one of his ears a flick and turned away, her whole body still flushed with embarrassment. "Come on, we gotta go back before Subira finds us. It's getting late."
