Tanned cheeks puffed a bit at his words and she had to try hard not to look like the vaguely annoyed child she felt suddenly. No he wasn't perfect, wasn't rich, was basically her opposite as far as life and personality was concerned. But honestly that was what she loved about him.

"There's no such thing as being too good for someone, as far as I'm concerned. There's not so great people in many different ways, and relationships that don't work, yes but I'm no better then you."

Not as far as she was concerned, but at least he'd finally come to realize what the whole mess was about.

"Yes my family is better off finacially and by that token, so am I. But that's trivial as far as everything else is concerned. I make mistakes like you, I struggle to find a place I fit in like you, I've had relationships fail just like you. We bleed the same color, Zachary I'm no different then you just because my family has money and because I seem like I have my life together."

A small sigh left her and she moved to take his hand in hers once more.

"You're so much different then I am and it's so refreshing to see. Being from a family of money gets tiring because I always have to be on best behaviour but I don't have to be like that around you. I mean, I still kind of am because it's habit at this point, but just now I threw our shared cat because he was singing Lion King at the top of his lungs to try and get you to understand I like you. That's not behaviour I should be engaging in!" There might have been laughter in her voice a little.

"But I did it, and you didn't judge me in the least! You didn't make me feel like a bad person because of it. You treat me like a normal person even though you're always on edge because you also think I'm above you some how. You're more real to me then any other person my mother's tried to set me up with."

And that was on top of all the stuff she'd asked of him because she had no one else to turn to. He could have said no but he didn't! Even when it had made him so uncomfortable.

"There's so much more to you then you can see, so much I find myself loving you for... And... it's okay if you don't like me the same way, to be honest. But regardless I hope that you'll at least let me more into your life to give you a chance to show you what it is I see?"

As his eyes met hers, Melody gave him the sweetest smile to date as she waited for whatever his reply was going to be. There was no rush and she knew she kind of dumped a little more then she'd meant to at him in her roundabout confession. Anything after her part was up to him and even if it didn't work in her favor that was okay.

Admittedly there was a bit of worry the longer it took and she definitely wasnt expecting the brush of his lips against hers as the reply.

Color rose to her cheeks quickly and eyelids fluttered shut once the initial surprise of the action faded away. Might have even leaned up into the kiss just a bit as her heart hammered away in her chest. The feeling refusing to fade even as he pulled away and she followed suit.

She was certain that the color that burned her cheeks was also trailing down her neck and possibly up to her ears as well. It certainly stained her cheeks darker at the mention of throwing the cat who was still stuck up in the lantern.

"I'm never going to live that down, am I?" she asked, though there was definitely laughter in her voice. "Though, if you're that worried about my being stronger then you, I can always lend you my cello to carry around in it's case~ It definitely lends a hand when trying out for the gun show."

Glancing up to the still swinging lantern, Melody could feel the guilt starting to pile up again. "Think we should get him down finally?"
