"Only after I saw the source of your pain. I figured if I tipped him off too quickly that he might run away like the coward that he obviously is. To think he'd resort to something so low." Chal muttered, not wanting to let Rajani know that he was upset but it was getting hard to hide. Just knowing that she was hurting made him angry, not to mention it made his desire to give the kid a swift kick in the backside grow more and more as time passed. He would do his best to refrain though. Chal wasn't a child any longer and he really should be acting like one nor should he be picking fights like one. Giving her the best smile he could muster he said, "No starting fights with the healer. I know you don't like others getting too close but this isn't something I can help with... as much as I wish I had such skills." Such skills were beyond him, at least the sort that might be needed when it came to... well, whatever it was that her brother had done. He was about to hand her off when a voice reached him, one that was calling out for Rajani, not himself, and his whole body went for a moment stock still. Dragging in air he said to Rajani, "It's alright to just ignore him for now."

She scoffed a little at him. She wasn't going to start anything. She would simply man handle the woman if she did anything funny. Rajani was about to mention Chal's other son when she heard the voice. Just as her dad went still so did she. Then the shivers started again and this time she wasn't sure if it was the chills or due to Elsif.
After being told it was alright to ignore him she did her best to nod her head. Raj now knew just who it was that had caused.. whatever it was she was going through. "After the healer is done I'm going to beat his skull in with my hammer." And this time there would be no Lixes to stop her. Rajani started to move again but her balance was way too far off and she stumbled. Her vision was swimming and she had a feeling she would start to see something that wasn't there soon. "Do you think Aysun would mind if I fed him to Maw?" She made the comment off hand but didn't think she would want to upset the beasts stomach.
Elsif had seen them both pause and he moved closer. "Jani. Stop." His eyes went to the large man and his voice grew louder. "Let her go so she can come home." He was convinced that this man, whoever he was, was keeping his sister from returning to her family.

"You might not want to do that. He seems the sort that would give Maw a stomach ache and I know that you don't want that." He murmured to his daughter before turn gave her a little nudge forward, "You should head inside, I don't want him talking to you after what he did to you." As Elsif spoke Chalceony turned around, taking the heavy shield off his back in one smooth motion, and put it in front of Rajani so that barely any of the girl was left showing. Once she was protected by the massive wall of metal he said in a monotone voice while starring the young man down, "Go home kid, you're not wanted here." Had he not attacked Rajani in such a way he might have been a bit more amiable... no, wait... who was he kidding? The guy had attacked her once in the past so he couldn't say he really had any chance in getting a good response from Chal.

She didn't want that. Maw was too precious to make sick. After getting a little nudge she stumbled forward but not enough to fall. Rajani was being a reluctant teen more or less in taking her time going to the healer for many reasons. She heard rather than saw the shield move and had to admit she was curious so she turned her head to look. Around the same time she reached the healer lady and held her hand out so that she could grab onto her.
Rajani let her gaze go from the shield to Chalcedony to Elsif. A mistake in the long run since the poison in her system twisted her vision and she saw a version of him that sent a chill down her spine.
-- Elsif frowned and drew his brows together. He watched the man put the massive shield in front of his sister then looked at the man. "You are twisting her mind so how do you know what she wants?" Taking a serious stance he reached into his cloak and took out the same dart gun that he'd used earlier. "All I want is my sister. Let me take her home to our parents and to meet our baby sister." Elsif was determined to somehow get what he wanted. ---
She'd heard it all and while her eyes couldn't be trusted, her ears could. At least for now. So she moved in a harsh movement back toward Chal and the shield, practically falling forward so that she had to grab the massive wall of metal to stay upright. "Shut up!" Rajani looked as though she was ready to start a scene. "You coward! You let them take me all those years ago! You didn't protect me!" The girl reached for her hammer and fumbled to bring it up and wield it. "Your parents don't care about me! They have a new version so SHUT UP!" If Chal didn't grab her then she was going to waltz right over and start slamming her hammer into the side of the guy's head. Well, if she could walk a straight line anyways. "Get away from me and my family!!" Clearly Raj knew where she wanted to be.

Chalcedony muttered under his breath about being 'too old for this' before he said, "I merely gave Rajani a safe place to live, so that she might recover on her own time. I am not the sort that would force anyone to do anything. You on the other hand, you would use some sort of drug on her to force her to return this time? And kidnapping before that?" He really didn't care for this one, he reminded him too much of the old ways of the Obans. He took what he wanted by whatever means necessary, it made Chalcedony sick. As Rajani set to yelling at her brother, grabbing for her weapon before she attempted to go at him he reached out to catch hold of her by the back of her shirt, pulling her backwards, "No. He isn't worth your time, Raj. Especially when you aren't well." He scolded her lightly before he said, "Now try to calm yourself. Getting excited tends to make ones heart beat faster, that in turn will made the drugs he gave you spread faster." Turning back to Elsif he found himself debating what he wanted to do next. He wanted Rajani to get to the healer which meant dealing with him. Shifting his stance slight he said, "Go home, boy. I need to get her to go to the healer and she won't go if you're present."

When she was grabbed and pulled backward she gave a little growl but didn't fight, if only for the sole purpose that he was right. Her heart getting excited made the poison react a lot more. Rajani's eyes were watering and the things she was seeing made her want to drop to the ground and scream but Chal's grip on her kept her in the know that what she saw was not real.
Now she couldn't rebel against being told to see the healer. So she did what she could to stand on her feet and turn to look at her dad. In a voice that wouldn't reach Elsif's ears she spoke to Chal. "Dad.. I don't feel so good. My head is swimming." The water in her eyes poured over and she wasn't sure if it was because there was just too much or because she was crying. "I want Lixie or Aysun." She already had Chal so she wanted one of the other people in her life she trusted.
Rajani did her best to look at the healer, of course it meant she had to squint to try and focus her eyes. When she thought she knew where the woman was she attempted to walk toward her. "Make him go away Daddy. I'm gonna see the heal--er." Unfortunately she didn't get too far before she practically fell to her knees in a weird combo of a stumble and a trip.
-- Elsif went wide eyed as Rajani yelled at him and he stood in shock for a moment. Did she really believe that their parents didn't care? Why did she call them his parents? Worry spread across his face as he remembered that there was poison in her system and she was making it reach farther in her system. But the large man got to it first. He grabbed her by the back of her shirt and she didn't seem to fight him on it either. Elsif watched the two and saw something he didn't think he could. There was a bond there that wasn't at all what he thought.
"Rajani!!" He called when he saw her go to her knees. Elsif took a few steps forward as if to go to her but paused and looked at the man that was with her. "It's Menzuri poison. It wasn't meant for her, it was meant for you." If the man was telling the truth and he simply provided for his sister then there was no reason to hide what was used. "I never intended to hurt my little sister. I just wanted to take her home so she could be safe." --

"Alright, Raj. Let's forget about him and just get you into the healer's place so that she can take care of you." He said, shifting his shield so that he could put it on his back. The sicker that she looked the less that he wanted to fight it out with Elsif. It was more important that they got her inside so that the healer could help to fix whatever had been done to her. Giving a nod he said, "I will be sure he goes on his way. After all your health is all... that..." He gave pause, turning around slowly, his muscles all going taunt, "Excuse me?" Menzuri venom. How often was it that he was hired for his skills as a fighter to deal with menzuri because they were one of the worst things in Jauhar. That someone would think to harness their poison, to make it into a weapon, it was disgusting. He didn't care that it wasn't meant for Rajani, just that it was meant for anyone was enough to put Chal into a really terrible mood. Giving a shake of his head he swung his shield around, putting it on his back, then moved to scoop up Rajani. "Leave. If you don't I am afraid of what I might do." He said in a even, very cold tone before he moved toward where the healer's place was. The door stood open and she was gone, having rushed inside after hearing what she was going to be dealing with it would seem.

Upon being scooped up her grip on her hammer failed and it slipped to land back on the ground with a soft thud. Rajani didn't even register it being gone. Instead she was fighting to keep her eyes open, not because she wanted to go to sleep or anything but because they were so watery. The way her pupils became larger than normal it was clear that she was no longer focused. "Coward!... he couldn't.. he couldn't let it rest..." Raj shivered and blinked rapidly, widening her eyes in the hopes that it would help her to see clearer. "He brought the demons back. Dad... I can see.. I can see HIM." Now she knew that she was crying. Her emphasis on the word was meant to imply that what she was seeing was far worse than Elsif at the moment. Her shaking and sweating increased. "I don't want to be held under..." She whined. The memories that were brought back to life were not something she wanted to see but had no choice. "Coward! What did you do to me!?" It was all she could do to keep from going into hysterical crying.
-- Elsif took a deep breath and let it out but it was shaky. Just from hearing what his sister said he feared what the poison was doing. Even though the man that was with her told him to leave he shook his head and moved forward to join them. "Please, I need to make sure she's alright. I need to know I didn't kill her or cause her permanent harm." Things were far more screwed up than he'd though but not in the way he'd thought. So even if he couldn't take Rajani home he at least wanted to know that she was alright. "After I know she's fine I'll leave. I promise." He could go home knowing that she was safe and no one need know that he'd found her. --

Chalcedony shifted the girl in his arms some so that he could hug her closer, "Shhh, don't worry. I won't let anyone bother you, Raj. Especially not those that might think to hurt you." As he spoke his eyes were on Elsif, wanting nothing more then to deck him... but he felt that it wasn't quite fair. The guy wouldn't stand a chance if Chalcedony went all out after all. "You can wait outside of the healer's abode then. You're not welcome inside." He said as he stepped inside, reaching out with one arm to pull the door closed. The guy could wait outside all night if he wanted to but Chalcedony didn't want him where Rajani could see him. It would only stress her out and make everything worse. Turning his attention away from the door and to the healer he said, "Can you help her?" The woman gave a nod, "Dealing with anything menzuri related is never good but I will do all I can." Motioning to a cot she said, "Lay her down here. I have an antidote mixed that should help her. It won't make her instantly better but it will help with time."

-- Elsif flinched a little when he heard that he wasn't welcome inside. In truth he probably would have said the same thing if he were in the man's position. So he nodded and moved to sit by the door. He might not be allowed in but he could listen and hopefully learn how Rajani was. However, on the way he walked past the hammer that his sister had dropped and bent to pick it up. He held the weight of it and was amazed that his little sister had grown to be strong enough to wield it as easily as she did. Still holding the weapon he finally took a seat and waited. --
Now was a really good time for her to be home so she could hide under the bed. Of course she knew she wasn't at home. Last thing she remembered was that they were walking through the market to somewhere. "It's cold." It wasn't really but since she was sweating it made her skin damp and any slight breeze made her shiver.
"Tell Aysun I wanna cuddle with Maw." The large beast would be plenty warm. Though likely not the most comfortable one out of her brother's hoard. Rajani reached out a hand and tried to search by touch for a blanket. Ever since she had started to see things again and Chal had hugged her she had closed her eyes and refused to open them out of fear. Her hearing was still there but it was slowly being muted by the thudding in her head. Honestly she felt as though she had been run over by a Janarim then dragged behind a runaway Xaraan.

"I will talk to him about it. For now if you like I can get Syndan from home if you want?" The radaku pup seemed to like Rajani well enough so maybe he'd make a good stand in until Aysun could come by with Maw for her to play with. Once she was feeling better at least, he wasn't sure if she should be playing with a full grown janarim for a while. Turning to look at the healer he asked, "Do you have something to help warm her?" The woman nodded, "Once she finishes the potion I will get her some blankets to wrap in. Help her to sit up." She ordered Chalcedony before looking to her patient, "I'm going to need you to drink this antidote. It's a bit bitter and smells heavily of herbs, it will help though." As she explained Chal moved to do as he was told, helping Rajani to sit up some so the healer could help the potion to her lips.

"Mm, warm pup will do." She managed to say as she nodded her head. When she was brought up to sit she groaned. "Ugh. Serin make the ground stop spinning." Rajani heard the healer say that she needed to drink something though it would taste horrible. She opened her eyes to try and see what it was but that was a mistake. Instead of a drink in front of her she saw the large barrel of water that was used to dunk her under. Instant reaction had her jerking her head back and away from it as her eyes closed again.
"Dad...? Dad.." Rajani had a feeling that he was the one helping her sit so she reached for him. Once her hand found him she took a minute. "It.. It's just a small drink right? N-Not a barrel." The girl knew he wouldn't let something like that happen to her but she still wanted confirmation that what she saw wasn't real. Her fear had her shaking and it didn't help her to feel any better. In fact it was making the spinning world feel a lot more... unstable. "Right. It.. It's just a small drink." As she waited to hear him say it she was also convincing herself.
Rajani brought her head back toward the drink and opened her eyes again. What she saw had not changed but she was with Chal so there was no way it was what she thought. Despite the fact that she was quaking with fear she let the potion be guided to her lips so that she could drink it. Rather than drink it slow her mind told her to gulp it down so that as it was tipped she couldn't be forced under. It made sense to drink it all before danger could come. Of course it also meant that she half choked as she tried to inhale and swallow at the same time.

"I will send for him once you've had your medicine and have gotten wrapped up in some blankets then." He said in a gentle tone of voice. He'd just have to ask someone to get the radaku pup because he didn't trust Elsif any further then he could throw him. Were he to step away the fool might try to take Rajani away despite her need of rest and recuperation. Best that he stayed at her side until she was able to fight again so she'd be able to fend the guy off. On top of that he'd have to see about sending Aysun on a mission to get a janarim for Rajani, not wanting to see the girl hurt in such a way again. If she needed a guardian beast with a mouth full of sharp teeth then so be it. Giving a little shake of his head Chal said, "It's not even a third of the size of the mugs that we use at home and it's not even a completely full container. Just a few sips and you will be done." He was glad when she set to gulping down the antidote, wanting it to get to work as fast as possible so that she could get to feeling better. "Easy now, no trying to breath it in. I don't think that will help any quicker." Chal said, lifting a hand to sooth the girl's hair.

Blankets. Blankets were nice. Certainly what she wanted. Rajani had a thing about wrapping up in them and sleeping in corners. When Chal told her not to breathe it in as it wasn't likely to make the medicine work any quicker she was caught between a cough and a laugh. She wasn't sure if she wanted to hack up a lung or laugh until her cheeks hurt but what came out was some odd combo of both. "Ow.. ugh.." Rajani muttered between coughs.
Once her fit calmed down to only a few coughs here and there to make sure her airways were cleared she tried to look up at her dad. "Don't make me laugh... when I'm taking bitter potions." Tears still streamed out of her eyes but this time for a different reason. All that choking had caused it this time. With her vocals roughed up her voice was a little harsh and she did what she cloud to clear her throat. "I want some fuzzy warm girly beast for times like these. Tell my brother to make sure it has a pink bow on it." Rajani closed her eyes and did what she could to try and lay down. Everything was still pinning and the taste of the antidote was less than tasty.

"My apologies." Chalcedony said, giving her a soft pat on the back. Once she'd stopped coughing he eased her back on the cot, stepping back so that the healer could wrap several blankets around her. While it wasn't cold the venom would sure make it seem that way. She'd need to be kept warm, hydrated, and calm so that she sleep off the toxin that had been introduced into her system. "I will see about Aysun finding you something like that if possible." He wasn't sure about anything fuzzy around the area they were in now but he was sure there were more distant creatures that might fit the bill. A shame he knew so little about the various creatures of the world save for which ones were dangerous and which ones were good for eating. Other then that he wasn't really up on all his animal knowledge, that was more something that Aysun was interested in. After Raj was tucked in Chalcedony said, "You focus on resting. I will make sure nothing and no one is able to bother you while you do." Even if that meant leaving Elsif out in the elements from now until the moment she was back to one hundred percent, no matter how long that might take.
