"But you're trying to help me!" Almary protested, still trying to figure out what weird thing was actually happening here, that a negaverse officer was trying to help him. Really. What was wrong with the world that a half-spider member of the Negaverse and a literally just-awakened Page would be willing to help train him to fight and protect himself when nobody had given a s**t in all the years since he'd first awoken? "What if I hurt you?" Not that he was too worried that he would; after all, he wasn't strong. He just... wasn't. "What if... what if my best won't do any good, anyway?"

"You won't get better until youtry." Coffinite drawled, and then he twisted further. "I want youto practice. It's the only way to improve. As for hurting me... That won't matter to anybody else. So do your best."

Almary yelped as he was spun around a little, and decided that rather than try to resist it, he'd spin with the motion and try to turn it into another kick. He still felt... kind of bad about trying to hurt someone who was at least apparently trying to help, but it had also occurred to him that maybe this was just the officer's way of playing with a victim. ... He couldn't quite bring himself to believe that this really was entirely out of some kind of kindness, let alone from someone on the side of Chaos. If his own faction couldn't be nice enough to help him and the others out when they needed it, why... why would somebody meant to be their enemy do so?

Momentu,m was a b***h, but Coffinite was pleased when the teen used the turn -- even though the kick HURT, stricking his elbow and jarring his arm enough for him to drop the child, and Coffinite's free arms shot to rub the offended joint, the Lieutenant nodding. "Very-- ow -- good. That might be all I try with youtoday, that kick SMARTS." Coffinite grumbled, mostly at himself, but offered a noise of approval. "But you'll need to practice on proper enemies. Never forget you may need to cheat in battle."

Almary tumbled to the ground, not having been prepared for a drop like that, then scrambled back to his feet in a hurry. Frowning at the half-spider, he nodded and offered a weak "Thanks," then peered at the injured elbow with a thoughtful expression. "Sorry I hurt you. Um, I have to ask though - you're a Negaverse agent." And part spider, but as creepy as that was personally it wasn't nearly as important in the grand scheme of things. "I mean - it's not that I'm not grateful, but... my own side doesn't seem to have time to help chibis. Can... can I ask why you'd want to help, when we're supposed to be against one another?"

"Because the Negaverse is no better." Coffinite sniffed, then frowned. "And if I can do only this little good, then it's better than some things." The agent sighed then, closing his eyes. "But you need not worry about it. What matters is, if others will not help, then perhaps you might not consider them allies, and seek those whom can." Finally, he shrugged slowly. Should he leave? Maybe..... Probably, actually.

"... I'll do that," Almary said, unable to think of anything better to say, then turned to go - after all, the nega had come here to do something, and he had interrupted him. He seemed so sad, though, that spider or not the chibi couldn't help addressing him one final time. "Thank you for helping me - and... there are other chibis out there. If you meet them, do you think you'd be willing to help them, too? You're one of the only people I've meet who's ever wanted to help, and there's a lot of little kids out there who could use help learning to protect themselves." Now he shrugged and began to hurry off - he didn't really want to be out here any longer than he had to! "Think about it, please? And goodbye!"
