He didn't know why she was being so persistent, or why she was being so insistent that he join her stupid team. Hermes felt his temper rising, along with his blood pressure, staring at Nereid with an expression that indicated he had approximately zero desire to actually do anything that she was suggesting.
Especially not after she'd managed to needle him in all the wrong places.
"You're awfully nosy for someone who has no reason to be," Hermes ground out. "None of this - any of it - has anything to do with you, so I'll kindly thank you to stop prying into things that aren't relative to you or have no bearing on you at all."
He wanted to to continue to walk away, but the question stopped him, Hermes' head jerking back to stare at Nereid, his face scarlet now. He felt exposed, like a raw wire that was too much and too frayed around the edges, everything out for the world to see.
"I don't have time for any of that," Hermes snapped. "I don't care for any of it."

Since reasoning with him didn't seem to be going well, the waterfalls senshi took a step back. Pushing any further was not going to get her anywhere after all.
He was a difficult member of the team, but she would make him a member!!!
"Well of course. I want you to be my team member." She looked at him as if that explained why she was the worst thing to him right now.
"Okay well..." She pursued her lips, "I guess I'll go then! I don't wanna keep you any longer, cause I don't want you to get upset anymore! But hey, if you get a chance, we should meet again." She waited.
"When you do have time!" The waterfalls senshi casually backed away so the other senshi could leave.
ALAS SHE DIDN'T GET HIM TODAY, BUT SHE WOULD.

Her sudden and abrupt departure from her prying questions was suspicious. Hermes felt his hackles rising just from that alone, which was ridiculous, because she was doing exactly what he had wanted her to do in the first place - which was leave.
A scowl crossed his face.
"I don't know what sort of game you're playing at, but I'm not so sure I appreciate it," he said, lifting his chin. "Perhaps next time, you'll be more civil."
Which implied there would be a next time but that was beside the point and Hermes didn't even seem to notice the slip as he turned on his heel to walk away.
