I made a new character to share a few of Esmie's classes with her. Mostly entertainment and choir.

He laughed at her statement, letting a wide grin cross his face. His hair, a messy dark brown, fell into his face, covering his gray eyes. "Why, thank you. Most people don't talk to me, so it's good to have a friend somewhere on campus," he admitted with a chuckle.
The speeches would be starting soon, but he didn't want to pay attention to them. He wanted to talk about so much with Esmeralda, but they had so little time. They had such different classes and nothing shared, likely only to see one another outside of classes. Even their extra-curriculars would be different. Still, he had a friend somewhere on campus and was all that mattered. He was confident in himself and his abilities, the medical side that is, and knew he could teach others the same way to see themselves. In Esmeralda's case, she had more than enough confidence, but she had to fight a lot of haters. Noah knew he could help beat them back to give her some piece of mind.

Jonathan Kirsch, principal of Saint Sandorez, tapped the microphone on the podium twice after a bell chimed, signaling the start of the Blending Into Society hour. "Welcome to all you students who have come from all corners of the globe. Saint Sandorez is a safe haven for those of us with supernatural abilities, or those who know how to control them. This is your safe haven, a home away from home. Blending Into Society is a class that will focus on how to use your abilities while staying under the radar of normal people. The less we show ourselves for who we are, the safer we are. Humanity is not ready to know what goes on under their noses just yet," he began. The rest of the speeches was about the history of the school and the variety of teachers, most of which students were talking through.
"Looks like we're in for a lot of talking," Kimberly stated with a scoff, half-expecting the speeches to be more in depth rather than glossing over things. She turned to the others and figured now was a better time than not to talk without interrupting anything important. "Any ideas what we are going to do for lunch hour? Cafeteria or food truck, or maybe the cafes?" she whispered, careful not to be too loud.

Kolya listened to what the principal was saying and tuned out three words in. It was boring, simple nonsense that could be found out in major classes later in the day. If he started talking about anything related to actual Blending Into Society topics, he'd listen. He paid attention to Kimberly when she started to speak, "I'm fine with anything, really. What do you guys think?" While his statement was towards everyone in the group, he looked at Jace without realizing.
Jace looked at the principle as she began her speech. She found it rather obvious they needed to stay hidden though if the speech kept going at this place he was going to fall asleep in his seat. He looked to Kimberly when she asked about lunch. He glanced at the group and looked Kolya when he said he didnt care. "I say we try the food trucks. It's pretty good weather and I wouldn't mind getting a little Vitamin D" He said considering he was pale white though he doubted getting any sun would change his color it would still be nice.

Esmeralda smiled when he laughed. "I feel the same way" she said. "You'd think it would be different in a school where everyone has abilities" she told him and looked up when the principle started the lecture. She knew that they didnt have anything schedule wise in common but she hoped he would consider having lunch with her and seeing each other after classes. They could probably study their own subjects together in the lounge or somewhere on campus. The hard thing would be having to prove herself in her classes because of her size but she was determined to do it. She had done it all through high school. She was the best at what she did but she still had to push and fight to be able to have any kind of lead role because its hard for people to see a big girl playing a lead role. Just like Noah tends to stay up studying she would stay up developing her character and acting out her scenes over and over.l

Kimberly was about to say something else when the principal began talking about things relating to Blending Into Society as a class. It seemed that the lectures were over with and the class was now in session. The other teachers filed out of the Arena and to their respective classrooms to prep for the major classes after BIS was over. "Blending Into Society is less about how to be productive in a social setting, and more of how to remain hidden in plain sight with your abilities. For some of you, your powers reflect well into the career you aspire to have upon graduation. For others, your powers might be a hindrance. BIS will focus on how to come to terms with your abilities and embrace them. This class has some ties to Magic Studies, but this focuses more on how to hide in plain sight rather than control powers," Mister Kirsch stated.
She had been listening intently, but realized that Jace's comment still needed answering to a degree. "Well there's plenty of options for Food Trucks so it'd be easiest to meet up on the Eat Street and go from there," she replied.

Kolya let a smile cross his face, food trucks was an experience he'd never had. It wasn't very common in Russia, not in the city at least. Little corner stores, maybe, but it was something new he was interested in trying. He had plenty of options to choose from, and if he didn't know where to go, his friends would surely help.
The principal began Blending Into Society and his attention shifted to writing down notes. Out of habit, he was writing in Russian, but it didn't matter. It was his notes, and as long as he could read them that was all that mattered. Kimberly was typing notes on a tablet, an audio recording notification blinking at the top. She was recording the whole class. "Smart idea," he muttered, careful not to have his voice too loud over the principal's.
Hunter had actually been writing notes since the start, his ideas on how things were going to go and anything relating to the class. Once it had started, he was ready to jot everything down. His hand-writing was elegant, beautiful, almost calligraphy. 𝓘𝓽 𝓵𝓸𝓸𝓴𝓮𝓭 𝓮𝓯𝓯𝓸𝓻𝓽𝓵𝓮𝓼𝓼. His hand seemed to glide across the paper, and it was what he was doing. He was using his ink manipulation to write everything he was hearing or thinking. It was a useful trick, as even if he wasn't paying direct attention to what he heard, what was being said would still be written.

Nora was writing down notes, but people around her kept bumping into her and talking through the speech. She wanted to grind her teeth and berate them for their rudeness, but to speak out was inviting more eyes on her and she didn't want that. Not until she was ready. She slumped in her chair, coughing loudly enough to cause those around her to stop talking as loudly and avoid touching her. Not a useful solution, but it was what she could do at the moment.
Jace listened to the principal when everyone got quiet. He hoped that he could still learn a little about how to control his powers since it was still a daily struggle to keep it under control. Though he came to terms with his ability a long time ago he had not come to fully embrace it. He typed out his notes on his phone as the Principal went on and turned his focus forward trying to stay awake not wanting to finish all of Kolya's coffee.

"Us crazy kids have to stick together, now don't we?" he chuckled to her under his breath.
He was writing quickly, even if his attention wasn't on where his hand was going. It was his habit, he had quite an exceptional hand-to-eye co-ordination that he could do that with ease. His handwriting was also phenomenal for a would be doctor, legible and pretty cursive. He wanted to get all the information he could get without skipping a beat. Yes, this class was not one to be graded on, it was merely that students were required to attend, but the more information the better. What harm was in there in more education? Especially when it would help him to blend in better in a hospital setting without showing his abilities. He had to learn how to see the final outcome without his powers, less he be seen as some sort of "freak".

Kaihe Wana'ao, a Hawaiian native at the tender age of 25, was sitting in the very back row next to the speakers. He had his phone out, recording everything that was being said. He wasn't one to jot down notes because his hand-writing was so bad when he was writing quickly. He flicked his black hair off of his maple-colored skin. His bright green eyes were the one feature most people noticed when they first saw him; uncommon amongst those of his island home. He paid attention when the principal was talking, but his fingers tapped his thigh, impatience showing through.
"Only 50 more minutes left of this," he muttered to himself, under his breath. He wanted to be up and moving, excited for his dance major class that was next.

Kimberly looked at Kolya and Jace talking to one another but said nothing. They were quick friends and she was more focused on what the principal was saying. More than anything, Blending Into Society seemed to be something that was all about hiding in plain sight. Most of the students had abilities that were well controlled or hidden; those who could control the weather could pass it off as mere coincidence so long as they didn't unleash a bolt of lightning from their hands. With her own power of sound manipulation, she barely had to hide it. There was little reason for her to pay attention, but she wanted to know how to help others around her more than anything else.

Kolya noticed that Jace was hesitant with the coffee. He leaned over, careful not to startle him with the sudden movement. "You can finish that if you want. I have another in my bag as an iced coffee," he whispered. He always carried more than one coffee with him, one hot and one cold, depending on whether he was inside (hot) or outside (iced). A habit from being in Russia and needing a certain type of coffee to continue a long day. He didn't want Jace to feel bad about drinking any of it when he had extra.
Jace glanced at Kolya when he leaned in to whisper to him. He smiled and nodded. "Okay thanks. I owe you a coffee" he whispered back. It was hard for him to pay attention because he was already worried all the time about hurting someone or scarring people mentally with his ability which he was already guilty of. He had no idea how his ability could help anyone. At least Kolya's was useful for his line of work but Jace couldnt see anything good about his. The only thing he's really used it for was traveling through shadows though he always made sure he was calm and kept his thoughts and emotions collected. He was a bit tense now with the thoughts of hurting people and he closed his eyes and tried to clear his thoughts and stay in control.

Esmeralda smiled and let out a soft laugh as she nodded her head. She was actually amazed by how he took notes though she wasn't really surprised since he was always studying he had to have gotten good at taking notes and his handwriting was so pretty. She took notes in her journal not sure if she can relate. She didn't have an ability that she felt could cause harm nor help people. She was just ready to get to all her classes. She was very excited for the day and was also ready to prove herself knowing there would be plenty of people who would try to bring her down.

So I see that Kolya and Jace might become a couple later on, but I have a little idea. What if someone came between them as things are building up to that romance coming to a head? Like someone (boy or girl, as I am unsure whether either is bisexual, pansexual, or just gay) has light abilities and just entrances someone? I could see Jace being more enticed rather than Kolya, since he seems pretty sure of himself and his powers. Just a thought. emotion_awesome

"I always thought that Blending Into Society would be a vitally important class, but it seems to be more of a basic thing. I mean, it's probably useful for those who struggle with blending in, but for most of us Magic Studies is going to be the key focus. I don't need to worry about my powers in my field, but it would help to keep it under wraps," he muttered to Esmie under his breath.
He was less excited for Magic Studies as there wasn't a whole lot he could do. He had a pretty good control over his powers, as they were simple and dealt with medicine in some way. The only power he might be able to use in that class each time was his mental healing, but it was more for curing amnesia or memory loss or traumatic nightmares otherwise it was useful for mental illness. He couldn't always cure things like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, but he could vastly decrease the severity of it with several goes. Perhaps with prolonged experience he could make an attempt to fully cure mental illness? He hadn't wanted to try, because the mind was someone that once damaged, was hard to heal. He didn't want his powers to cause more problems. He wondered if he could heal the affects of brain death, allowing patients diagnosed persistent vegetative state the chance to recover.
I'm down for that idea, but if anyone is going to make a bubbly character who controls light, it'd be Nightmare. Am I right?

Kimberly had lost her care for the class when it was more about how to act like normal rather than anything else informative. A lot of students around her felt the same. She didn't see why it was so relevant, but unless it was taken off the schedule, she'd sit through it. Would every class be the same kind of lecture? How if you had water powers, you'd be best blending in with a job like a lifeguard, surfer, fire fighter, and so on? That was something most people took into consideration when their powers manifested. Even the principal seemed bored of the lecture and he was barely half-way through.

"Don't worry about it too much. I probably drink too much coffee a day anyways," he joked. He was busy chewing the end of his pen, no longer interested in copying anything down. He didn't have the best control over his powers, true, but he knew how to blend in and not make himself known or make a scene. Magic Studies was where he, and he knew Jace was the same, needed to focus. Almost every students needed Magic Studies more than Blending Into Society. Whispers around him was that it was not as much as a compulsory subject amongst students as the teaching staff thought. Perhaps a petition to remove it as a mandatory class would be made up? It would free the morning, but what would take it's place? Magic Studies? No one knew at this point.
Ebony was bouncing around in her seat, distracting a lot of people. She was thinking about the weekend, and her circus troupe extra-curricular. She wanted to get up on the tight rope and swing from the silks and be in her element. But, she needed to focus on her business major if she wanted to run her own circus. She wanted to make a safe haven for people with powers. Where else to showcase what you could do without people being aware of anything? The circus was the perfect place! And she knew that! She was already an expert in blending into society with that thought!

Axel raised his brow at Ebony constantly moving. How could someone have that much energy? He sat quietly, unmoving, vaguely listening to what was being said by the principal. He didn't care about blending in when his powers were so subtle. He only needed to know about other powers to copy them perfectly, but he already had intuitive aptitude, which was the solution. He barely needed Magic Studies, but he would still attend. He could help others master their ability by seeing them and copying them.
Jace let out a soft laugh. "Alright but whenever you need a coffee let me know" he told him glad he got himself in check before anything happened. He was rather bored himself. He leaned back in his seat ready to crash for the rest of the lecture.

Esmeralda looked to Noah when he started talking. She had stopped taking notes and had started doodling in her journal. She nodded agreeing with what he said. "Mine isn't anything special. I don't have to worry about sticking out or anything really" she said. She never saw her power as special but then again she had never tries to imprint another's ability before. Though it could be dangerous considering they were supposed to blend in.

I think because most of our characters are talking over the principal, that petition should be made into a reality soon. I get how this class works, but it kind of mixes with Magic Studies too. Maybe make this time slot a future free study?

From what I can gather so far, he seems more bisexual. Like, maybe when he hears Kolya say he's pansexual he gets a little scared and runs. And then bumps into Leora (who Nightmare just finished making like 20 minutes ago, haha) and does the whole "opposites attract" thing. But, in Jace's case, it's the darkness he will always run to, and Kolya embodies that. I see them as the whole "love is right under your nose" vibe.

Noah smiled at her, "I never got to know what your powers were and what it entailed. Am I going to find out during Magic Studies this evening?" He wasn't asking her outright to answer, more so that he was curious. They always spoke about what they were expecting from their studies and other random things, but their powers and backgrounds was something that was glossed over. He wondered how that happened, but realized it was likely because the friendship started over the university chatroom. It wasn't something he was focused on entirely at the time.
But, now he was curious what she could do. With her statement of her powers not sticking out, what could that be? His powers didn't stick out either, but they were a useful asset for the career he wanted. He knew she wanted to be an actress or something of that nature, and he believed in her raw talent. If no one else would support her, he would. He'd be there for every drama showing, even if he had to sacrifice time for his studies. He'd do it for any friend, but so far Esmeralda was the only one to accept him into their lives.
Esmeralda smiled. "Or I could just tell you now" she told him. She didn't know what his power was either. It was just obvious they both had abilities since they were accepted into the school. "My power is Ability Learning and Imprinting. So basically I can copy other's powers, skills, and abilities simply by learning how to use them or by observing the ability and focusing upon it. When I learn a power or skill I can imprint it on myself and it becomes a natural part of me. " she explained. She didn't see any significance in her ability because no one ever cared about it. Her brothers didn't have abilities so it was always just ignored. She didn't understand what she was truly capable of. "What's your ability? If you don't mind me asking" she said her eyes bright with curiosity.
