And there were more. Was this ship completely infested with the undead? It made Rastin wonder just how this could have happened. Why were these people trapped up here? Why didn't anyone come to get them? How did they die? His mind raced with questions that had no answers.
He didn't know if he could follow this all the way to the end.

The zombies... Static could sense them. It was that smell in the air, that low moaning and groaning sound. To be fair, zombies were quite bad at being stealthy. Static motioned to the two behind him. "Looks like we got 6 zombs coming up. Get ready." The blueblood instructed, getting his own weapon up and ready.

Once again there were two walkers left and Rastin was the one hopping in to deal with them. He swung as hard as he could and finished them off like they were nothing, but found himself getting confused by the corpses on the ground again. Growling, he swung at them.
"Why won't you die? Just die!" He seethed, clenching his jaw.

Static frowned at the purpleblood as he seemed to relentlessly attack the already downed monster. When the other boy was finished, Static gave him a strained smile. "Im so glad... your getting into it...." Static managed. The purpleblood was actually pretty scary, Static sure did not want to be on the other end of that guy's anger.

Rastin's shoulders hunched. Yes, uh, he was perfectly aware of that. They were dead. He was just making sure they stayed that way. You couldn't be too cautious about zombies now, could you?
He looked the mangled mass of muscle and flesh on the ground over again and took a breath. Okay, unrecognizable mess, sure. But he wouldn't call it overkill. It wasn't like anyone cared about these people anyway. They wouldn't have been trapped here if the opposite were true.

Static nodded along with what the orangeblood had said, then chuckled nervously and turned back to the path at hand. As Static continued he realized that the way forward was not pleasant. I mean, sure, none of the ways forward were pleasant, but it was more so the fact that behind him was not exactly pleasant either that was the problem. What he was getting at, was that the purpleblood made him not quite so sure about this entire thing.

The mustiness didn't carry over through her suit - she didn't know why - but they felt that way - abandoned, old... older than her. The great glub... she'd heard of it. Beastdad had told her about it, as a story. Half made up, half true... nowadays she wondered where the truth had come from. Had beastdad picked it up from her twin's time in the rebellion? Or had he known it, as a storyteller knew the right arc to tell? Upon coming up to an open space, she noticed a computer come to life. As they milled around, looking for treasure, she slipped one of the black boxes onto the terminal, to get for later. Rastin wasn't sure why he kept continuing forward like this. Perhaps he liked smashing zombie heads around like some kind of crazy person. Maybe he liked torturing himself. Or, maybe he was just too afraid to go back to the entrance on his own.
Regardless of reason, he followed his teammates further down the corridor.

It was a hallway! When trolls were little, they could skip down hallways. Usually, Alternia was actually a pretty scary place. Even skipping might get on someone's nerves and then whoop! That was a culled kid! But these hallways? No kid would dare skip down them. No troll would seek them out, they were filled with the rotten, the diseased, and the dead. No one wanted that.

There truly was no guarentee that defeating them actually set them to rest. Why did trolls linger after death anyway? Was the world so broken that, even in death, they sought to destroy -- the weak, the tired, the forgotten, the lowly... Sure enough, more zombies were waiting for them. Another large hoard of them, shambling forward in an endless, mindless effort to find fresh meat. The purpleblood, though still very much afraid, furrowed his brow and sprung out to attack, clearing four of them out with one swing.
He'd leave the remaining for his teammates and hoped this would be over soon.

Static heard the noise of it before the door was even entered all the way. It was disturbing. The footfalls of feet, the squishy noises that meant it was defiantly some sort of undead, and then the smell. Static wanted nothing to do with it. He didnt want anything to do with it. It was heartening really, to hear the orangeblood yell as well. He wasnt alone, even if some of his teammates made the impression that they were insane highbloods, still, he wasnt alone. "Get OUT OF HERE!" The blueblood yelled, far louder than he meant to.

The thing fell to the ground, defeated. Static suddenly felt very self conscious. He, well, he didnt even think he could do that, to be honest. It was a surprise, a nice surprise. He did worry that he was showing off in front of his team. Would they all think he was showing off? Was that too much? The worries invaded his thoughts.
