HP: 18/20 Military Grade Weapon Training Troll Relations
Amonee is advancing down a hallway! 4/11 advances 0/2 minibosses defeated
"Do you think they have any old paintings on board?" Amonee wondered out loud, peering around the hallways. There was bound to be more than just science on these ships! And more than just zombies hopefully. It was uncomfortably quiet so he felt the need to fill up the silence with conversation. Somehow, talking to Nucleo and Elidae felt so easy. It was nice.
"I wish we didn't have to destroy the bad ones. There's so much history on these, you know?" He ran a hand down the wall of the hallway. Even this simple wall had history to it. Retro paint job, paper bulletins posted on boards, scratches and carvings... It was a shame that the memories of the lives that had been here would be lost.
Elidae Bonbon hp:19 attack: 1d6 (+1 bedazzled superstar military weapon✧・゚*✧・) ytma: training in agility (cooldown: 6) trinkets: has some, don't remember what they are!
“You did?!" Elidae rushed over from the other husktop she had been trying to enter. “Good work, Nucleo!" As she peered around his shoulder, the video footage flickered on. Elidae blinked, focused, zeroing in. This was important for her to see.
The clipped audio did nothing to spare her gut beginning to feel uneasy. All those trolls, running, screaming. What was Protocal AK-JL? Elidae's eyes squinted as she moved in closer to the screen, watching carefully. When the white flash came and she heard a scream, her eyes widened and she took a step back. After the video ended, Elidae stayed silent for only a moment before filling it immediately.
“Wow! This is definitely important!" She said, taking the careful measures to collect it and bring it to Kursha. Her physical movements became a little hasty, but the yellowblood held a fairly normal face. “Let's get moving."
As they walked out, Elidae gave a sideways glance at Amonee and giggled.
“Well." Elidae thought for a moment. She understood where Amonee was coming from, but she also understood why the ships were being detonated. She tried to think of a way to explain to Amonee. After a moment, Elidae smiled. “Destroying the bad ones only gives room for new ones, right? You have to pull out the weeds to allow the flowers to grow. If you end up finding a painting you wanna keep, I give you permission." She gave him a subtle wink.
Nucleo discovers it's a laser trap! 1 damage per post to each troll who enters the room until they exit! Nucleo is using his clones! 4d6 hits with +1 to accuracy to each on this attack, 1x per battle. First two numbers are the 'hit or miss' determiners, second two are the damage done.
"Maybe! I'm not sure how well they'll be preserved though." Nucleo chuckled at Amonee's curiosity about old paintings. It was a little unlikely but not completely impossible. He smiled at Amonee's second statement, finding his words an interesting almost romantic thought. He hadn't considered how these ships were a link back to a past era. It made him wonder how trolls lived back then. Who had been aboard this ship?
"Yeah it's a shame we can't recover more from them." The greenblood echoed his opinion. While he understood needing to clear this area of space in order to make room for progress, it did feel like a waste. They could try to recover more than just working systems, perhaps they could collect parts of the half broken ships as well to save costs. Plus the personal items might tell them more about their ancestors.
He wondered who his ancestor had been. Had they been aboard one of these ships? Flashes of light filled his mind and he swallowed. Amonee and Elidae continued on as he followed, quieting down while he mulled over an unpleasant thought.
These weren't ships anymore, they were graves.
"Hang on, something's not right." At Elidae's interest in another room, something caught his attention and he grabbed her shoulder quickly, a bit forcefully.
"It's trapped." The greenblood nudged the door open with his foot but didn't enter. A grid of light flashed into existence, the floor was line with lasers. It was intimidating to consider entering but seemed their best path forward. He grit his teeth as he forced himself to move forward.
This is a mini-boss battle, the full rules and mechanics of which can be reviewed here.
The room beyond the door seems empty from the hallway, but stepping inside you are swiftly aware that you are not alone! For lurking in the corner is a dark groaning shape. As it turns towards you, you realize you are entering strife!

1 - Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. The screens show that the ship is functioning perfectly, and headquarters patches in the control of a remote helmsman. They wait until you have returned to your boarding pod and leave, before steering the ship away.*
2 - Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. As the screens boot up however, dozens of red warnings and errors flash across the screen. It seems like there has been critical damage to the ship in multiple places. Your team is instructed to leave the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions on your return path to the exit.
3- The ship refuses to power on, even after you follow headquarters instructions to make sure they are plugged in, and hitting ctrl-alt-del. It looks like something core is not functioning. Your team is instructed to leave the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions on your return path to the exit.
4- Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. The screens show that the ship is functioning perfectly, and headquarters patches in the control of a remote helmsman. They wait until you have returned to your boarding pod and leave, before steering the boarding vessel away.*
If any troll in the party has helmsman authority, they can steer the ship to given coordinates, then return to the boarding vessel with the rest of the team.
Congratulations! You have completed your mission and returned back to the docking area! Squad commanders, be sure to report in!
HP: 15/20 Damage: 6 + 1 = 7 Military grade weapon: +1 Novice Agility Style B: 1/1 Compressed Mystery Gas: 1/1 Nucleo is using his clones! 4d6 hits with +1 to accuracy to each on this attack, 1x per battle. First two numbers are the 'hit or miss' determiners, second two are the damage done.
"Whoa!" While Nucleo had expected to deal with lasers on the floor, he hadn't been expecting it to move and squeak under his feet. The floor was lined with zombie gerbils- vicious ones too! As they gnawed at his feet, the greenblood kicked them off and tried to come up with a plan. He didn't see any switches to turn the lasers off which meant they were stuck with them.
"Watch your step! I mean-not the lasers- there's gerbils!" He called after him so his teammates wouldn't be surprised and ambushed upon entry. Swatting the creatures off himself, the greenblood tried to make his way across the room. It was hard though, as they kept getting in the way and started to crawl up him
"Get off!" Nucleo yelled and began to rip them off and throw them at the wall. It was horrible but so was the sensation of teeth against his neck.
HP: 14/20 Damage: 3 + 1 = 4 Military grade weapon: +1 Novice Agility Style B: 1/1 Compressed Mystery Gas: 1/1 Nucleo is using his clones! 4d6 hits with +1 to accuracy to each on this attack, 1x per battle. First two numbers are the 'hit or miss' determiners, second two are the damage done.
It clearly was going to take more than one of him to wrangle this many gerbils out of the way. With a yelp as he was bitten again, the greenblood felt some of the stress he'd been carrying bubble in his veins. No, he had to stay calm. But it was getting hard. He didn't think he could take much more of this and so he called for back up.
"Gerbils!" He gasped to the clone that he'd summoned. Newcleo surveyed the room nervously and was not at all thrilled about the situation he'd been called into. Yelping and jumping out of the laser that grazed his ankle, the clone tried not to whimper as he scrambled around the room with Nucleo to try and obliterate or trap the remaining gerbils. Each crossing of the laser stung and both original and clone regretting not learning how to use a gun in times like these.
Elidae Bonbon hp:14 attack: 1d6 (+1 bedazzled superstar military weapon✧・゚*✧・) ytma: training in agility (cooldown: 6) trinkets: has some, don't remember what they are!
“N-No!" Elidae cried, standing ready to take on whatever came at her- except for cute little gerbils. Sure, their eyeballs were either missing or falling out of their sockets and they were basically half rotted but-
“But they're gerbils!" On top of this, they somewhat reminded her of that jerkface still-attractive-but-definitely-NOT-NICE blueblood. Despite this, she swung her blade and sliced a few with her eyes closed.

Amonee is fighting gerbils?! Damage: 6 Boss HP: ?/20 4/11 advances 0/2 minibosses defeated
"Elidae, I'm sorry!" He could tell she didn't want to hurt them but the gerbils were clearly dangerous. Amonee had been scared to fight earlier but her words had prompted him to try and step it up. She had a clear attachment to the concept of gerbils which meant it would be difficult for her to finish them off. He shot a look to Nucleo and mouthed 'get her out of here' as he set to work smashing the rest of them with his club. She didn't need to see this. It would only break her pumpbiscuit.
Together, the two greenbloods needed to protect her. Just as it was her job to look out for them as a leader, so did the subordinates need to help their commander. And sometimes that meant doing the hard dirty work. He wanted to keep a smile on her face no matter what it took.
Nucleo is training Troll Relations to heal his team! Nucleo is using his clones! 4d6 hits with +1 to accuracy to each on this attack, 1x per battle. First two numbers are the 'hit or miss' determiners, second two are the damage done.
Nucleo obliged Amonee's silent request and grabbed Elidae's hand, pulling her through the room and out the door with him. He hoped she wouldn't be mad about them making that call. It was just, they had both seen the anguish it caused her to have to destroy something she liked. He tried not to comment on it, to spare her, and moved on in the conversation to try and distract her further.
"Are you both okay?" Nucleo asked, breathing a bit heavy from tap dancing around the lasers. He'd be okay, just needed to catch his breath. Now that they were out of the disco of death he'd have plenty of time. And since they were taking a short break, he might as well offer some provisions. Rustling through his bag, he pulled out a thermos and some cups. The barista poured them each some coffee and passed them out.
"I supposed I should have asked permission first." The greenblood paused sheepishly. "Commander! Permission to, uh... consume rations?" The greenblood asked, trying to lighten the mood with a half joke.
Elidae Bonbon hp:18 attack: 1d6 (+1 bedazzled superstar military weapon✧・゚*✧・) ytma: training in agility (cooldown: 6) trinkets: has some, don't remember what they are!
“P-Permission granted..." Elidae said breathlessly, taking the cup and shakily putting it to her lips. As she sipped, she looked down the large hall to the other side. She could have sworn she saw a shadow...
“Thank you!" Elidae suddenly perked up and looked at the two of them. “We shouldn't take too long but- this is a good idea. I'm amazed you've been carrying that thing around!" Elidae genuinely laughed.

Amonee is healing up! 4/11 advances 1/2 minibosses defeated
"I'm better now." Amonee said after a long sip of his favorite blend. It helped to have a little bit of home to soothe his nerves.
"I wanted to ask you, Elidae, are you settling into military stuff okay? A friend of ours said it was stressful." Then again, that friend was trying to juggle communicating with the military and with the lightseekers at the same time. Maybe just one was easier to manage. He was certain Elidae was organized and polished enough to handle things but one never knew if military politics would be too frustrating to handle.
It was one of the reasons Amonee had opted to live out in the mountains where life was a little bit simpler. Not that he didn't also dream about the glamorous world of the city, where everything was luxurious and beautiful. He supposed there were pros and cons to both. It was unfortunate that he couldn't afford to live in both! Maybe he ought to visit the Sergeant Bonbon more often!
Nucleo advances! Nucleo is using his clones! 4d6 hits with +1 to accuracy to each on this attack, 1x per battle. First two numbers are the 'hit or miss' determiners, second two are the damage done.
"Good, I'm glad." Nucleo smiled and reached over to pat Amonee on the head. His hair looked a mess by now and the greenblood tried not to laugh but couldn't help it. He brushed some of the loose bits back out of his face with a grin. As they began to walk again, Amonee started up some small talk.
"I heard your friend's a captain now. Has he taken you on any missions with him?" Nucleo added to the questions, too tense to ask the important ones. He'd start with the easy ones for now and try to get a scope of how she and Kursha were doing. It'd been a long time since they'd talked about it. He hoped things were going well for her, despite the way it made his lungs feel.
He hoped he'd done the right thing, not encouraging her to leave Kursha. He was a dangerous man with a bad reputation. It'd killed him to tell her what he'd experienced back at that fateful Bloodfest. Hopefully Kursha had calmed down and tried to many less enemies. Even if he did, fine. All Nucleo cared about what that he kept Elidae safe from all of them.
Elidae Bonbon hp:18 attack: 1d6 (+1 bedazzled superstar military weapon✧・゚*✧・) ytma: training in agility (cooldown: 6) trinkets: has some, don't remember what they are!
As they continued, Elidae gave them curious grins at their inquiries. “Hmm? Kursha?" Elidae asked, though she knew that was the one and only captain they could be asking about. Her face faltered slightly just thinking about it. She was still upset with him- but it hurt her more that she hasn't tried to talk to him about it. The pressure in her chest became slightly unbearable.
“We went on a few...!" She started, as if ready to say more. After a beat, she gave them a sideways glance, a smile crinkling her eyes as they continued down the hall. “He's my moirail! Didn'tchu know?" She teased slightly, although Elidae realized the two of them probably didn't know she filled that quad- or rather, she never confirmed it. “He takes good care of me!" She reassured, although perhaps the words were meant more towards herself than. Elidae breathed in a sigh.
“As for military stuff- its hard work, but I like it!" It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't the whole truth either. Military life was a whole different world for Elidae and while she did find it rewarding, there was a lot she still needed to learn. “Who's the friend? Maybe I know them!" Elidae asked curious, then chimed a laugh.

Amonee is counting 3 zombos 5/11 advances 1/2 minibosses defeated
Amonee blinked, wide eyed in surprise at the news. Kursha was Elidae's moirail? This was interesting news for sure. He didn't know how to take it. On one hand, that was good news but on the other, it was dangerous as well. He had always assumed that their relationship had been something different. Now that meant that she was... He glanced at Nucleo. That meant they had a real chance, didn't it? He ought to feel happy and support his friend.
His chest squeezed tight at the thought. Somehow, it hurt to think about. Nucleo was his friend. Elidae was his friend. He couldn't allow himself anything further.
"H-ha, I'm glad it's going well! We should celebrate after all this is over." He swiftly interjected, trying to move on from the painful thoughts flooding his mind. Amonee honestly was happy for her success after all. He hoped she would go everywhere she ever dreamed of. She was the kind of person that could achieve whatever she set her sights on.
"Ah, it's Hemera Moachm. She's someone we met through the Lightseekers." He didn't see any reason not to mention the group to Elidae. Some of the others might try to keep it hushed but he trusted her and it wasn't like they were doing anything wrong.
"Eek! Three of them!" Amonee yelped mid conversation as they came across more daywalkers.
