In this case the best way to disable the lock mechanism is...” Suddenly two loud shots sounded. “Same method as before. Shoot it until it opens.” Somehow, by some stupid miracle of the universe, it worked.

This is a mini-boss battle, the full rules and mechanics of which can be reviewed here.
The room beyond the door seems empty from the hallway, but stepping inside you are swiftly aware that you are not alone! For lurking in the corner is a dark groaning shape. As it turns towards you, you realize you are entering strife!

You can manage to cheer, rally, or cajole your teammates into finding more energy. This can only be done once per ship exploration per troll trained.
If you are a Journeytroll or higher in your skill: Each team member restores 1d6+3 (rolled separately) hp.
If you are a Novice in your skill: Each team member restores 1d6+2 (rolled separately) hp.
If you are training your skill: Each team member restores 1d4+1 (rolled separately) hp.

1 - Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. The screens show that the ship is functioning perfectly, and headquarters patches in the control of a remote helmsman. They wait until you have returned to your boarding pod and leave, before steering the ship away.*
2 - Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. As the screens boot up however, dozens of red warnings and errors flash across the screen. It seems like there has been critical damage to the ship in multiple places. Your team is instructed to leave the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions on your return path to the exit.
3- The ship refuses to power on, even after you follow headquarters instructions to make sure they are plugged in, and hitting ctrl-alt-del. It looks like something core is not functioning. Your team is instructed to leave the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions on your return path to the exit.
4- Powering on the ship is easy enough, with the instructions from headquarters in your ear. The screens show that the ship is functioning perfectly, and headquarters patches in the control of a remote helmsman. They wait until you have returned to your boarding pod and leave, before steering the boarding vessel away.*
If any troll in the party has helmsman authority, they can steer the ship to given coordinates, then return to the boarding vessel with the rest of the team.
Congratulations! You have completed your mission and returned back to the docking area! Squad commanders, be sure to report in!

Jumping in for the fight, Elidae whipped around her shears and went in for a good n** at its legs.

"Hey! This guy looks like a captain- maybe we're close to the control room?" Elidae questioned openly to the group, attempting to get them motivated for the fight. She knew they all wanted to find it and get themselves out.

Another chance to show off? Yeah sure! Chiara didnt do quite as amazingly as she did before, but hey, a chance to show off never a bad choice! The blueblood turned back to the monster and gave it a frown. It was a nasty one, for sure. All the better to end its life and finish things up. Chiara looked at the beast, gave it a one-liner, and then went in for the attack. "Bye bye bozo."

Engrav was getting real sick of daywalkers, and this one looked pretty much like the rest of 'em, although a little faster and a little... snarlier. The other yellowblood and Chiara pushed the quick zombie around some, and now it was starting to look just a little bit dazed. Engrav didn't waste any time. He plunged forward, taking the daywalker in the chest with a hammerblow, and felt something crack under the reinforced steel of his prosthetic. Let's see the daywalker shrug that one off!

"Ha!" the yellowblood exclaimed, falling back as his glasses warned him of the slashing claws. "Thanks for setting me up so well, you two!"

Quickly wiping the sweat off her brow, Elidae realized this guy really wasn't going down as easily as she had hoped. All that armor really gave it a leg up. At least it was slow. As the daywalker captain moseyed around, the nimble yellowblood flicked her large pair of shears open and swung them . With another flick of her wrist, the blades immediately snapped shut and came together, slicing through its neck like really moldy butter.

As rotted blood sprayed, its head rolled directly in front Kursha's feet. Trying not to giggle, Elidae's lips formed a tight smile.

"Is that the control room!?"

Engrav sat at the control panel at the... gentle... cajoling of their team leader, and tried his best to boot up the cockpit. Power looked like it was winking to life, until suddenly the screen ahead of him was filled with whirling, flashing red lights. The ships power core was unaligned! If they tried to take the thing anywhere at all, it would go haywire and explode on the spot. Engrav gulped, and nodded as headquarters radioed in the demolition order. He didn't want to get blown up by an unstable ship.
