"And that's why I brought Alma to you." Mag Mell was one of the few he knew that really shared the view that some from the Negaverse could be saved. After everything the Knight had gone through Arachne figured he'd be the most willing to help someone if they wanted out.

Almandine listened with the sort of attentiveness that he always had, though his hand remained resolutely curled with Arachne's, and his brows were drawn together in consternation or thought, it was difficult to tell. He did not miss the glance that was given from Mag Mell to Arachne; something in Almandine's chest felt tight with an emotion he couldn't quite put a name to.
He didn't like it. Whatever it was, he didn't care for.
"What do you mean, the memories are taken?" said Almandine, after a long moment of silence had passed. His mind was slowly sorting through all of what Mag Mell had said, and it was taking some time to process, focusing instead on the smaller details that needed to be understood.
"I'm going to...forget things..?"

"You will, but I can't say how much or what. I was slowly recovering from a head trauma at the time so I am pretty sure I forgot more than you're supposed to. Some things are coming back to me and the things that aren't get easier to accept the more time I spend amongst the people I care about." It was hard to explain without making it seem frightening. He wasn't sure he had the words to explain that it was alright and that he was pretty sure the memory loss was supposed to make things easier. "I think... I think you remember the things that are the most important to you. For me it was the friendships I'd forged with the people who tried to help me find my way while I was struggling. It was more important to me, more beneficial for my adjustment into this life to remember who I was as a civilian as opposed to who I was as a Captain. Who I was as Richterite didn't matter nearly much and what did matter I made sure to tell Corvus." Things might have been different with more time to plan. He might have left himself notes, written a journal filled with officer names-- people he wanted to seek out to see if he could convince them to join him as well. It was in the past, however, and things had progressed exactly as they had needed to. "From what I can tell, you've got a strong support right here with you, though. Arachne is a good man, and a good friend. Very responsible when it comes to helping lost senshi find their way." He flashed the other man a grin, having heard a story or two about Thisbe recently.

He shook his head slightly at the compliment from Mag Mell. Arachne wasn't ever going to get used to people telling him that he was actually doing something right. After ignoring his duty and slacking off for so long he didn't know how half the people he knew respected him. But they did and at least Mag Mell thought he'd be able to help Almandine. The fact that is reasoning for wanting to help Alma wasn't entirely altruistic wasn't lost on him but he still wanted to see it through. "Corvus has been telling stories again hasn't she?" He smirked slightly, looking over at Mag Mell from where he'd been watching Alma's reactions.

He didn't like the idea of forgetting things; of having memories taken away, replaced by...what? A blankness? Just a bunch of hazy nothingness? Mag Mell had said that the memories were foggy and depended on which half were forgotten, but both seemed a little daunting.
Almandine's eyes went to Arachne beside him, his eyes tracing the senshi's face. He was still holding his hand; he still didn't know what to think of Mag Mell, or the look he had given Arachne, or the grin he was now showing across his face, or anything at all.
And he wasn't even sure who this Corvus was, either.
Almandine's fingers tightened, just a little, around Arachne's. He was still looking at him.
"Will I forget you?" he asked, and it came out softer than he had intended, quiet and uncertain; an edge of some emotion that he couldn't quite define lingering on each of the syllables.

He was about to respond to Arachne when he heard Alma's softly spoken question. His brow furrowed and he chastised himself mentally for not expecting that sort of reaction despite the clasped hands.
"Speaking from personal experience, if he's as important to you as the people in my civilian life were to me, there's no way you'll forget him... And even if you did I'm sure he'd make you fall for him all over again. You'd get an entire lifetime to create more memories without shadows hanging over your shoulder." They'd have the chance that he and Lys hadn't. The chance that he'd gotten this time around with Luc.

"I wouldn't forget you sweetheart." He reached up with his free hand and brushed his fingers along Almandine's jaw lightly. He had hoped to skip that part the first time but should have expected that to come out. Almandine wouldn't forget him though, at least he hoped, and if he did it wasn't like he'd forget. There was still a smile on his lips though, wanting to be reassuring for Almandine. "Even if you did, and I hope you wouldn't, I'd still be there for you. I wouldn't do all of this for you just to leave you on your own. I'll be right here no matter what." Even if he didn't have feelings for the corrupt senshi it would be wrong to purify someone and leave them alone. Someone doing that needed support. Almandine would need him and everyone else so he could build his life again.

I'm sure he'd make you fall for him all over again.
Almandine's brows furrowed. For a moment, he was slightly lost for words, and while he was looking at Arachne, he was listening to what Mag Mell was saying, the meaning of them slowly filtering through his thoughts. He couldn't quite grasp it, couldn't quite hold onto it.
An entire lifetime to create memories.
What was it that he wanted?
Arachne's fingers touched his cheek, slid along his jaw in a tender gesture that made Almandine lift his head to look at him, eyes searching the other's, feeling that strange pressure still in his chest. The smile was reassuring, and yet the dwindling uncertainty of it all still made Almandine unclear as to what the path was that he was supposed to take.
What do I want?
He didn't want to forget Arachne, that was for sure. He also very much wanted to kiss Arachne, so he did, leaning forward abruptly to press his lips to Arachne's in a soft, warm, brief kiss, in spite of Mag Mell standing right there - or maybe it was because Mag Mell was standing right there.
It wasn't anything intense, or hard, or more. Just a simple, soft thing of gratitude, Almandine's eyes flickering over Arachne's face once more before he turned to look at Mag Mell.
"Then yes," he said quietly. "I want to do this."

Mag Mell observed the tenderness between the two for a moment, glancing away as the corrupt senshi had gone in for the kiss. He was happy for Arachne, truly, but he was certain the Senshi of Spiders didn't really need his input on this matter.... It did leave him wondering whether or not it was like this for others to be around he and Luc, however. Were they this cute? How had their friends not started making comical gagging noises whenever they were around? The joys of growing up. He glanced back down as the Negaverse senshi addressed him, nodding at the affirmation. "I'll leave you and Arachne to discuss things amongst yourselves, then... And if you think of any other questions, or if you want to talk to me any further at all, Arachne knows how to get in touch with me. Whenever you're ready I'll do my part to make certain there's someone there with the power to chase the darkness away."

The kiss was unexpected and just short enough that Arachne didn't really have time to react other than the slight blush that appeared on his cheeks. Almandine wasn't shy, at least he didn't seem like the type to think being shy had any point, but that still wasn't something he'd expected with an audience. Mag Mell thankfully didn't comment but he knew he'd get teased about it the next time he ran into the knight. Hearing Almandine's answer, getting the confirmation that yes he did want to do this, brought a grin to his face. He had to squish down the urge to scoop the other senshi up and spin him around. That would be a little much even if he was that happy. There would be a lot of planning, probably a mess to clean up if Almandine forgot about his civilian identity, paperwork to take care of, someone to find who could purify his starseed... All of that could come later though. Reaching up he cupped his hands around Almandine's jaw, forehead resting against the other senshi's as he smiled. "You're going to feel so good when we can do this, no more weird dark feelings ... no more us having to sneak around."

Almandine felt a brief and peculiar sensation of - well, he wasn't sure. Satisfaction? Pleasure? as he noticed, out of the corner of his eye, Mag Mell turning away from them. It wasn't a very nice feeling - or maybe it was, he couldn't tell - but his attention was mostly on Arachne, and the look of surprise on his face, the faintest red tinge to his cheeks.
He had to resist a sudden and uncharacteristic impulse to lift his hand and touch the warmth of his face to feel the flush. Almandine's head turned, hazel eyes flickering over to where the knight still was, his hand still curled resolutely with Arachne's.
"Thank you," he said. "I...I'll need some time to...figure it all out."
Almandine turned back to look at Arachne as Arachne leaned forward, their foreheads together, those large, strong hands against his face. Something fluttered in Almandine's chest, warm and wonderful, and he lifted his own hands, letting them rest on Arachne's wrists to keep his hands in place, breath a little uneven.
He could do this. It wasn't that big of a step - except that it was. But it felt...right. It felt like a path he could walk, which was the important thing. Almandine's fingers smoothed up and down Arachne's wrists, little soft gestures.
"As long as I remember you, I think I'll be fine," he said.
