“I didn't mean too,” Mel practically whined as the little cat melted to the ground and cradled his pancaked hat. “But….” he wanted to help! However the shorty didn't seem to want his help, he just wanted Mel to go away.
Stepping back the large cat shifted from paw to paw nervously, still not certain he should just leave the heartbroken kitten behind. Undecided his golden gaze drifted towards the burned out shell of the church, following the charred wooden skeleton towards the sky only to stop suddenly at the roof line. His furry brow scrunched in thought as he tried to remember if there had been a gargoyle on the roofline or not. The memory flitted out of reach at a particularly loud wail and insult from the cat on the ground. He apparently didn’t want to see Mel anymore, not that the big cat could really blame him… he did squish that hat flatter than a sheet of paper.
With a tail and ears drooping the large cat slinked away, he didn’t mean to squish the hat but he had. Mel pretty much destroyed a little kitten’s heart by stepping on the hat. How had it come to this?!? He had just been looking for it… after stealing it and dropping it… because the shorty insulted him! Well the insults kinda were thrown out from both sides… and Mel did practically run the smaller cat down because he was late for his shows. His SHOWS! The large cat had already left the church lot but he wasn’t very far away when he remembered the reason he had been going so fast in the first place. “MY SHOWS!!!!” the large cat practically wailed into the night as he took off running, the anguish of squishing the hat lost in his rush to get home.
Being a bit dim did have its advantages sometimes.
