Slender hands ran over her face, finding the dry skin... odd. there should be water there. Salt. She leaned heavily against her friend, grunting softly with the effort of shifting muscles that had hardly twitched. It was like being awoken from a dead sleep, except that she was as exhausted as if she had been working out for hours. In the distance, the pillar pulsed, and with every flicker, it was like she could still feel the thrumming.

She went for her phone, pushing the button to return home.
The bed was much more comfortable than the air mattress, and she grunted in contentment as her body was cushioned. "I don't think I found peace," she admitted to Kallichore, voice hoarse, "But I.... I don't know. There's still something I have to do."
