Dennis, along with a handful of students such as Meera, were applauding in thunderous amounts, but every student was taken a-back with her skills. "I don't think I need to think about you claiming the role of Lady Macbeth. It's yours, darling, make me proud," he announced triumphantly. The girls who had caused problems before let out small exasperation, but they were shushed by the general populace. The remaining students took to the stage for their roles, and Dennis occupied himself with making notes of their skills. He had a sticky note on an early page, likely for Meera or Esmeralda, but with Esmie being given the role on the spot, it was definitely for Meera. He was seeing whether someone overtook her top spot for the second leading lady role.
The lunch bell got his attention and Dennis loudly clapped his hands together to silence the students. "I know we haven't gotten through everybody yet, and we will tomorrow. Roles will be finalised by Wednesday and we can get started learning the roles and understanding the play on Thursday. Please, use your free time to study up and get an understanding of the character you want. Enjoy lunch," he announced.
Meera was happy that Esmeralda had gotten her role on the spot, but she was worried for herself. SHe was unaware if she had done poorly, or whether or not she had done well enough to secure the second leading role for the women in the play. She wanted to be a leading role in the first term, because she wanted to make her mark on the class and show her determination, skill, and adaptability. Yes, with Dennis in the room, her powers were gone. They did little to improve her acting other than a better understanding of a character, and her powers suited understanding someone in front of her, not on paper. Regardless, she knew she had the skills to be a great actress, maybe someone influence for others later down the line. Lost in thoughts, she gathered her things and made her way out of the Performance Hall and towards the Food Trucks to get some Indian food for lunch. She missed home too much and needed some fresh naan.

Dennis waited for the students to make their way into the Performance Hall and take a seat in the audience section while he stood on the stage. Everyone had been given their roles, scripts handed out, and it would be time to begin the rehearsal process of Macbeth. The class had a large size, not everyone had a main role, but there were stage hands needed to help the Technical Production students. Understudies had also been assigned from those without main roles, to give them time to rehearse on the side. Once everyone was seated by the second bell, Dennis began.
"Good morning, everyone. I hope you all have been reading your scripts. We have a lot of progress to make in a short amount of time, so I hope you are all up for it. Let's begin by getting the main cast and the understudies up to the stage on the right side to begin reading their scripts together. Minor characters, on the left. Anyone else, remain seated and I'll let you know what other options there are. Everyone will get a spot in this play, on the stage or behind the scenes, remember that," he called out.
Meera walked in with Esmeralda and a few other students, script in hand, ready to begin the new production. She was happy to be cast as Lady Macduff, not the main role but an important one nonetheless. She listened to what Mr Constantinople had to say and made her way to the stage with her script, leaving her belongings in the front-row seats. She stood with Chase, Esmeralda, and Quillin. She wasn't familiar with him, since he hadn't spoken with the group much in the first class yesterday. "Nice to meet you, Quillin. I'm Meera, this is Esmeralda and Chase. Looking forward to a strong performance with you guys!" she exclaimed.
Quillin made his way to the stage. He listened to Meera speak. He nodded and waved. They all knew his name by now. He didn't need to introduce himself. Not constantly. He looked to the seats and saw Donna sitting there. His aid. She waved at him and gave him a thumbs up. "Looking forward to the final production. How do we want to do this? Line read or acting and line read?" he mumbled.

Chase was ecstatic. He had the leading role. First year, semester 1 and he was leading man. He was Macbeth. It was a wild feeling. He listened to the others and nodded when Quillin spoke. "I think it would be a good idea to just line read out loud first and act it out a little next time 'round," he grinned.
Esmeralda met Meera on the way to class and walked in with her. They both had their scripts in hand ready to start rehearsals. She set down he things as she listened to Mr. Constantinople. With script in hand although she really didnt need it. But she knew it made people around more comfortable so she carried it with he and made her way onto the stage with the others. She smiled when Meera introduced them. "Nice to meet you. Look forward to working with everyone"she said as they all talked about how they planned to run through it the first time. "Line reading sounds like a good idea. We can get through all the placements and a feel of the play first"

Dennis watched the main and secondary cast take their places on the stage and looked to the group of students still sitting in the seats. He wished that there was more he could do, but there was only so much when he had a larger intake of students than previous years. Fortunately, the Musical Theatre major needed drama assistance, so some of his group could be moved to an assistant role there, and the other half could take on the role of Technical Production, learning from Engineering students.
"Alright, half of you are going to need to teach acting skills to the Musical Theater major, and the other half will learn Technical Production from the Engineering students. These roles are crucial, and you will learn extra-credit for accepting these roles. Please raise your hand if you want to help Musical Theater," he announced. Exactly half of the students raised their hands. It was easy to split them up and send them on their way.
He watched the other students leave for the other buildings with their belongings. The only person left in the audience was Donna, Quillin's aid to keep his powers in check. Dennis had been informed that Quillin had a destructive power that could easily get out of hand, so having another power negator made his life easier. He turned his attention to the others. The secondary students needed help more than anything, so he made his way to the other side of the stage.
"Line read sounds great. It's the witches part first and then we get to Macbeth and Banquo shortly after. Shall we start from that part or line read for other parts too?" Meera asked. In her mind it made more sense to start from the main parts, but it was up to the others, she didn't have a particular preference. She just wanted to get a start on everything, so that way the remaining 2.5 hours of class could be spent in group practice. She had a feeling that there would be group practices during the Freetime in evenings closer to opening nights. But that was a worry for another day.
Quillin felt at ease will less people in the room and Dennis on stage. If something triggered his powers, he could at least have his powers negated quicker than Donna could react. He listened to what Meera asked and blinked. Where was their Banquo? Whoever played him must be absent today. "I vote to go from our parts" he said.

Chase nodded in agreement to Quillin's remark. He didn't need to say much else, so he kept quiet. There were some main cast members missing, but it was the second day of the term, so students may have thought that there weren't major classes in the first week. Hopefully the major actors would show up sooner rather than later for proper line reads.
Esmeralda watched as people left to after being put into their groups. She focused on the group and listened as they discussed where to start. Meera looked like she didnโt care she just wanted to get started. She smiled at her eagerness and looked to Quillin when he answered and Chase agreed. โThen I guess itโs decided. One of us can line read for Banquo for now since I donโt think the actor playing them is hereโ she said and started to flip through the script.

โ Sorry I'm late. My phone died and I wasn't in a spot where I could hear the bells. What are we doing? Oh, I'm playing Banquo, if that wasn't clear. โ
He rubbed the back of his neck, wondering where everyone was up to. He hoped he hadn't been too late and they weren't miles ahead in the script.

Dustin came crashing in, 25 minutes late, rolling down the aisle as he tripped over himself. He pointed him in the direction of the other main cast, preparing for their line reads. He remained by the secondary cast to go over expectations for the cast and other things before he would wander to the main cast and see where they were up to. There wasn't much to be done today, other than beginning memorisation and familiarising the cast with each other.
Quillin watched a newcomer flail into the room and dramatically bounce onto the stage. The theatrics in this kid was going to be entertaining to watch. He said he was playing Banquo, but hadn't mentioned his name.
"I'm Quillin, I'll be playing Macduff. Chase is Macbeth, Esmeralda is Lady Macbeth, and Meera is Lady Macduff. We didn't get your name?" he said.

With the guy playing Banquo now here, they could begin line reading from the part after the witches. Introductions were made, and Chase waited to hear the name of the new cast member. He was distracted by his own thoughts of being the leading man, it was exciting and he honestly didn't think he would get the role at all, he half expected to get one of the many background characters, so this was an interesting change to what he was expecting.
