 Sumire Isako Thoughts:Mood:Yoki: █ █ █ █ █ █#26619C╟──────────────────────╢ The silent fox girl simply smiled back at Akarin, she was touched that he cared for her well being though she couldn't really say that she was fully healed quite yet, there was a lingering ache from her wound but Sumire refused to let that bother her as they had made it to the next round and she needed to be focused on who she would be facing. She was about to step up and offer to fight first but let out a sigh of relief when Akarin had infact stepped up first and chosen who he would like to fight "It seems you really want to go first, so good luck in your fight." as usual outside a fight, her voice was gentle and soft.

Akarin looked at Sumire and said with a softer smile. "Last time I participated in the Dark Tournament.. my team didn't even get as far as this.."  At Yusuke's suggestion, Haiyou gave a nod.
One on one fights worked out well for his team so far, so it was good to keep things simple. Besides, Haiyou and Badger were already a dysfunctional tag team, in a sense. No need to complicate things with a third wheel.
"One on one works for us, pal. And I agree with the whole save our fight for last bit. Judging by the crowd's reaction, busting your face like a wannabe thug pinata will make me the audience favorite!" Honey Badger gloated, earning the cheers of the crowd, most likely the portion involved in the "kill Yusuke" chant.
"IInane quips aside, it looks like single bouts will work for us." Haiyou sighed. Looking over to Akarin, he smiled. "Since you seem eager, I'll let you go first. Best of luck out there." He told his teammate, encouraging his desire to go first.
"Tell him not to ******** up!" Badger shouted mentally.
"I'm not telling him that." Haiyou replied, tired of his own nonsense.
Stepping out of the ring, Haiyou gave his comrade a smile, taking a seat and looking on at the arena. Akarin was strong and determined. Whoever he fought against, he wouldn't go down easily. He watched in anticipation, curious to see how this contest would play out.

Sorry if I'm a bit eager, though I will not let it get in the way." he said as he nodded to his team and hopped on the ring after getting another quick check up from Ruka."I wonder if the boy will step up first?" he thought as he straightened and took a few deep breaths to calm down, keeping his composure of calm and collected well placed.
He was excited, yes. Very much to the point of raising his power to his normal on a whim. If it got to him now, it would hurt not only his team, but his pride as a fighter. He was not new to this scenario of fighting, he had been in this tournament before when the rules were darker and defending and fighting in Demon World. He could calm himself easily and well, and he needed to now so he wouldn't risk hurting anyone severely.
Inhaling deeply once more, he felt the humming sensation fade as he waited patiently for Team Urameshi's first combatant.

  Takao entered the ring, and faced his opponent. Judging from the amount of energy this guy is putting out, I might be in over my head. The teen thought to himself briefly, but he was still willing to prove his worth to his team, even though, Hiei considered this to be a "babysitting" job. The spirit detective in training looked over at Akarin. "Let's try to keep this fight a clean one, okay?" Takao said with a brief martial arts styled bow.

"I may have to pull some of my punches.. he's just a human boy.." he thought as he silently sniffed the air. He blinked and then looked at Takao."I'd love nothing more than an honorable fight." Akarin said calmly and returned his bow with one of his own, and then added "But before we begin, are you sure you are fit enough to fight boy?" he asked, tilting his head ever so slightly.
Whenever he wasn't in the ring, he was observing the other fights. He did this to analyze strengths and weaknesses, and among all the teams he was in particularly curious of Urameshi's team with the new recruit. He had always heard stories, now that they were here, he wanted to see it for himself. Though, during one of their matches, he watched Takao receive some injuries to one of his legs.
Now that he was going up against the boy, he wanted to see what all he could do, but as he studied the boy, he said "Don't overestimate your body's abilities..I know you wish to prove yourself as a fighter, but it won't be worth it if you overdo it.. Takao looked at Akarin with a kind of childish grin. "I think I can manage as long as I don't push my self too hard, and thank you for your concern. I'm sure you have noticed in my previous fights that I prefer to have honorable matches as well." The boy then took a quick glance at his "healed" leg. I should be okay if I don't use that particular leg for kicking or anything for that matter. Takao then shook his head briefly, and got into a basic fighting stance.

Takao shot a grin at Akarin. Hmmm, as long as my minor sprained ankle is basically a handicap on my end, I should avoid any kicks or jumps. So I guess I am sticking to punches, my daggers, and my last ditch effort technique. The youth slid across the ring to Akarin without lifting either of his feet off the ground. Dagger! A small blue dagger forms in the 14 year old's right hand, and he uses it to attack his opponent head on.

This will be interesting." he thought as pushed on Takao's dagger with his own and back flipped a few feet away. As he landed gracefully, he said "You had strength behind that attack, very good." "And there's the first strike from Takao! And Akarin blocked beautifully with a dagger of his own! I can't wait to see how this will turn out!" Koto said with a giant grin on her face. He lowered himself into a crouch, "Now it's my turn. " he said as he launched himself quickly at the boy. Takao barely dodged the punch, and managed to parry the dagger just barely on instinct. "Ouch! Guess I was a bit too slow, you still managed to give me a small cut." Wow, he's strong and fast. I underestimated his speed and power, that's for sure. The youth throws a punch of his, and slid his feet backwards to create enough space between Akarin and himself to safely use his own dagger again. This time the boy opted for a thrust.

The youth opted to move out of the way of incoming kick, and try to counter it with a punch of his own. I might not have a choice here. I may need to place a huge gamble on the derringer technique after all, but at the same time if I use it, I'll ensure my loss here. Takoa thought as he made his movements. the teenager also followed up his punch with a quick slash of his spirit dagger. I haven't used it since my last fight, so I should be able to use Derringer now. I just hope I can connect with it if I do use that move.
Note: Sorry for the wait, I have been working crazy hours until recently, and have finally gotten back to a more normal schedule at work.
