She couldn't help it. She laughed at his less then subtle hint. "Vanilla with Vanilla or just vanilla cake, no frosting...?" She probed a bit, trying to figure out what he really wanted. If she was going to bake a cake, she'd want to get it right. "You begun to work out pricing, so I can begin guesstimating?" She asked, curiously. "And I will. If I can help you guys get your place back together, I will. You both deserve a safe place to live." His other question got a soft hmmm of thought as she worked on her next piece. "That... is a good question. I'm still not sure. Seems to be a lot of drama, and a lot of upset. But there's also a bunch of good'uns like you, n Joy, n Rhys. So I'm still deciding. "Yeah, no doubt. People been up on Twitters talking bout whoever been with whoever and sticking it make you wonder why no body knocked up or pullin hair." He move another set of pieces again, moving one out.
"If we go all out and go all color then be prepared to heal for a while and hurt. If same size as I did and add the color, probably a few hundred." He scratched his head. "Like $200 most like. It's not wear twitchy places and not a whole sleeve."
Then to the important question. "Frosting. Lots of it." What kind? "Chocolate."

"Indeed. Or why some people would ever get recruited, honestly." She said, with an eye roll. Recruiting spoiled rich brats seemed to be the stupidest plan in her head, but that was her. She wasn't going to comment further out loud on that part. "Full color, yeah... I have..." She paused for a moment, gathering courage to mention her reason for wanting this so badly, then finished "some... scars I want covered over." She swallowed a bit, clearly not comfortable talking about this, but since he was going to have to SEE her back, better she get used to the idea now. The price he mentioned, though, had her looking surprised. "Really? I thought it'd be more, but I wont argue with you... But if it looks like dyes or whatever are gonna get more costly, don't feel bad about bringing it up..." She paused, then thought about what he said more. "But maybe we're talkin' confused. You said sleeve? I'm lookin' to get a back piece, so I think maybe it'll be more, yeah?" She laughed at the answer to the frosting question. "Chocolate frosting... Natch. You a buttercream guy, or do you prefer ganache?" She wanted to make it right for the dude who was gonna do her back... and who she thought was a really nice guy, some one she was beginning to consider a friend, a real one. He waved her concerns on price off. "You're a tiny canvas and we can call price difference cut for advertising just gotta tell people where you got it when you show it off and let me take a picture for a scrapbook."
"I don't know the difference. Sweet stuff on top? Like what cakes have." He moved another piece and breathed out.

Seren's eyes widened, and then, once he had his piece out, reached over to squeeze his hand, and said "Deal. You bet I'll advertise for you, and you can def take a picture of the work!" She closed her eyes for a moment, and sighed, like a huge ******** weight was off her back. This meant the world to her, knowing she could finally get the ball rolling on getting her piece in place. She might be able to not wear high necked s**t in the summer soon. She chuckled at his words about sweet stuff on top. "I'll see what I can do, then. You'll get good cake, that's for sure." She nodded at his words, her fingers going up and down for a moment, before she reached out to take a piece, and carefully, slowly, worked it out. She had an expression of serious concentration on. "So like - Why you never get a tattoo before? You seemed like you wanted one for a while? No body round to stop you now you here on this island?" He didn't get the story of most people, but he knew the kids who hangs around recruiters in school. They wanted to get away form pits and sinkholes and apartments where they never left the city. They wanted tickets to buses and talked about traveling to places instead of just running from one to another. They wanted the hope someone would give them something for their life.

"Well, I was barely 18 when I got recruited, to begin with... Literally recruited within 2 weeks of turning 18. Couldn't get one, legally, until then without parental permission and presence, and that, let me tell you, was not gonna happen." Her cheeks went a little pale at the mention of the word 'parental', but she kept going as she eyed the tower, trying to get a piece out. "Then there was money. I was saving everything I had to escape the situation I was in, once I DID turn 18. Unfortunately, that did not go so well. So, until now, I was not in a position to get this. But yes." Her voice trembled a little. "I really, truly want this tattoo." She started to pull on the piece, thinking she had it. Instead, what she had was the tower falling, and a dart to the neck. He. Stood up quickly but before he could leave his seat, she was already face down on the table. He really wished he brought some water for her to drink to help wake her up. That's what you did, right?
Moving quickly over, he hovered about her trying to decodr what area would be most decent and less creepy before he grabbed her and set her hands under her face like she was slerping naturall ibstesd and not hurting her face. Brushing her hair out of her face, he settled her there to sleep before pulling out the dart from her neck.
Sitting back down, he rearranged the tower for them and pulled out a piece.
"This is messed up. Darting us like dogs."
When Serrn came around, he turned his head to look at her. "You okay, sugah?"

When she came to, she slowly looked around, a sleepy/confused expression on her face initially, then she blinked at Kai. "Ah? Ahhh, yeah. Thanks. Just a little zoney now." She took a minute or two to rub the sleep out of her eyes, then she sighed. "That is ridiculous, darting us like this. What, exactly, is that supposed to teach us? That they think we're less then human or something?" She shook her head, and sighed. "Respect. It's a thing, bosspeople!" She said, her eyes staring up towards where she was sure there was some sort of observation deck. She glanced at the tower of blocks, and added "Also, thanks for getting that set up again, Kai." She worked a piece out, but was nervous about the amount of wobbling it was doing. Status Round: 2Pieces Taken: 9 Total Points: 13 Knocked out: 1/3

He breathed out slowly when she came to and was glad she didn't look sick. "They got some aim. Rather I get buzzed like a game show. Or blow a bullhorn. I dont' want drugged up." He grumbled, barely touching it before the entire tower tumbled.
With a quick flick of color, a dart hit right into Kai's arm ad he wobbled a moment before he feel face forward.

Seren was nodding in agreement when the dart hit him. She swore, softly, and got up to remove the dart. She set it with the other 2 that had hit them so far, head shaking. "Do they clean these between uses? Are they recycled? Do I want to KNOW?" She muttered, as she moved one of his arms onto the table, gently, then carefully shifted Kai's head to rest on it, trying to give him a 'pillow' of sorts. She patted his shoulder gently, then went back to her seat and reset the table. She pulled her piece out, then settled back onto the chair, her legs crossed at the knees. Once he woke, she looked him over with concern. "You feelin' ok? I can't imagine the second dart is ANY fun..." Status Round: 2Pieces Taken: 10 Total Points: 16 Knocked out: 1/3

When Kai woke up, it was more a struggle to keep his eyes open than before. Rubbing his face and beard with his hands, he stared back at Aria and then looked around as if trying to recall where he was before rubbing his face again with a drawn out groan. "Like being hit with a crowbar."
He stared at the darts on the table, 2 for him and 1 for her, and really didn't think he coyld get through another. "Don't know how you and I get smacked the same with me being bigger."
He wanted to smoke, and out of reflex placed a unlit cig into his mouth bwfore he felt able to even reach out for a piecre. Luckily Seren's move had helped clear a easy choice.
Placing the piece down he rubbed at his eyes. "Gonna have to crash after this."

She reached over and patted the large man's hand. "When we get you out of here, I'ma make you something to eat, and some tea to help you get this out of your system." She sighed and said "I really can't figure out how this is supposed to teach us ANYTHING." She rubbed her neck, where the dart had hit, knowing she'd have a visible bruise later, or so she thought, still not used to the shield business. "Maybe they have weight plates under the seat, that trigger different dosages?" She said, thoughtfully, her eyes scanning the area. She studied the tower, and worked out a piece with care, but it took a lot of effort. She was sweating a little before she got it out.
