Well, there was a small chance Kailey would actually like fishing. He nodded his head all the same though, no way did he want Kailey to go on that little trip with him. His relationship with Nischal was slowly moving forward and he didn't want his bff to get in the way of anything. The last thing he wanted was for Nischal to get the wrong idea about them, as people often did. "I'm sure we can come up with a fun plan to hang out with Kailey some time." Because, he did certainly want the two of them to know each other. Jason had been with Kailey through her more recent relationship, through the ups and the downs in the end.
They might have just been friends right now, but comments like those were what made him hope for a closer future for them. He could be cheesy in the best of ways. "I would mind if you swiped a bite or two of my sandwich~" That came out weirder than he expected, even he laughed at himself. He tried to move on from that was quickly as possible.
"I'm sure my Mom would love the extra help! She will probably insist on paying you though." Of course, if he worked at the bookstore, he'd also be seeing Jessica all the time. That could go a couple of different ways, but he was a little worried she might get a bit jealous of him. That could be fun to watch though! Beside, he'd be there. Jessica wouldn't do anything to Nischal if he was around. "Though, if you're just wanting to see me work, you could always come to one of my shows! They're not anywhere fancy, but I do play my guitar out in public at times." It was a fun way to earn a little extra cash. Plus, he might be a bit biased but he always thought he looked damn good playing his music in front of a crowd.

“Maybe… Halloween’s coming up soon, so maybe we can go to a haunted house or something together. I feel like she’s the kinda person who might punch something the moment she’s scared so… Maybe not.” At that he laughed, the very thought of this girl coming along and sucker punching the heck out of poor sap was both amusing and kinda worrisome. He’d have to figure that out later.
“Hrm? Oh, that’s nice of you. I’ll be sure to share mine as well.” Whatever sort of innuendo that Jason tried to make went right over his head and out of his mind, only smiling slightly and nodding.
“If she’d like, I wouldn’t mind. I’d probably just spend the money on buying more books. I have all these empty walls in my home, and some nice new stories would be a great way to fill them up. That and a bunch of pictures of adventures and the like. Ooh.. OH, if I go to one of your shows, I’d love to take some pictures of there too. Probably not the best or the fanciest, but… I’d have more memories of you.”
It had been years since he last attended a concert, but he did love them. When he was young he’d go to one of those eighteen and under clubs as often as he could, trying his best to try to dance to everything he heard. A part of him missed those times when he was more carefree and eager to go about the world, but… Well, He was more reserved now.
“I think I would love that. What sort of music do you play?”

The thought of Kailey in a haunted house did make him laugh. She was definitely a 'punch first, ask questions later' type of person, though he doubted something would spook her that easily. Especially, knowing going it, that it was all fake. It would still be a fun way for the two of them to meet though and he definitely wanted that to happen sometime soon. "I'd pay money to see that honestly." Kailey had been taking kickboxing lessons for as long as he knew her, he wasn't sure even Nischal with all his muscles could take her on if they were serious.
"It's not as fun if you're not in the picture as well." If there was anyone that could understand the need to have yourself surrounded by memories of your friends, it was Jason. His own apartment was a clutter of pictures from special moments to casual outings with his friends. His camera went with him pretty much everywhere, along with his guitar. "But I won't object to you taking pictures of me on stage, it's definitely where I look my best."
"Mostly just some alternative or rock, the occasional fun-get-up-and-dance song." He wrote most of his own music, but he found a lot of the crowds in town really just liked good covers. Which was fine by him, he didn't really plan on a future in music, it was definitely more of a hobby. A good way to vent his frustrations or relive a good day.
"Oh! I think I see our food coming out." It looked delicious when their server set his food down in front of him. He had to admit, it didn't look like anything he'd ever had before. How fortunate that such a unique restaurant had settled down in their town. He used to knife to cut out a piece for Nischal to try, then offered him the fork with the skewered piece of his donut sandwich. "Give it a try~"

"I don't know about that... You look fantastic right now. I think If I see you on stage, my mind might explode from how amazing you look there!" Nischal's voice was light and teasing, though he did blush again at the thought. Jason rocking out on stage, sweat on his brow, the light shining behind him like a halo of talent and their eyes making contact and he smiles and Nischal... And before he realized it, his cheeks had flared up again, bright red and he laughed nervously, clearing his throat and taking a deep drink of his water to try to cool down his distracted mind.
Thank god for the waitress who came with their food and saved him from having to open his mouth and hear the squeaking cracking sound that came from his nerves beating him over the head with the obvious attraction he felt towards Jason. It wasn't time yet! Jason didn't need to know!
The food smelled amazing, and it was more than enough for Nischal to change his focus to that instead, more than eager to pick up his gooey sandwich for a large and excited bite. And when he did, his eyes nearly rolled back into his head with how *amazing* everything was! He swore he could taste ever little thing in it, the sauce, the meat, the cheese. Melty ooey gooey goodness! Just as Jason had cut him off a slice, Nischal took a piece of his and offered it to the boy, holding it between his fingers.
"Only if you try this!" Even saying that, he leaned over the table, taking the bit of food off the fork with his teeth. "Mm... Gods that's so good!"
