"Ya well---" She was cut off as she was hit with a solid blast from Vasily's gun that was actually forceful enough to make her stagger. Though while she winced at the impact, their was a devilish grin on her face.
Staggering impact or not, she didn't have time to just stand around, and she moved forward, striking with a downward blow while finishing the sentence she had started through gritted teeth. "I'd rather have a big d**k than be a giant p***y like you."

She caught him hard -- probably due to the flicker of genuine annoyance at that one. Maybe it had actually stung, as opposed to the good natured joshing he'd been treating it as previously.
In response, he fired again, even as the weapon in the back of his mind heaved a giant sigh and reminded him that there were better options available...
There was a moment, just a split second, where she felt a surge of victory rise up in her when she landed a solid blow in exchange to the one he'd dealt her, but not only was it because of that, but also because she had caught that flicker of annoyance in his face, and she just wanted to just bask in the sheer joy that it gave her.
But it was fairly short lived considering he shot at her again, and this time a bullet grazed her thigh.
Never mind, she could bask later. Right now, her weapon was suddenly doling out short, brisk, and down right puzzling instructions, which Dottie somehow managed to follow, concentrating, triggering something within her katana that made it suddenly glow, and in conjunction, that glow was mirrored in her other hand, as the pink haired trainee found herself holding not just her own katana, but something akin to a ghostly, mirror image in her other hand as well.
There was a surge of something, a power, and Dottie found herself bursting forward with speed, slashing in a spinning whirlwind at her opponent until the glow faded, and she spun to a halt with heaving breath.
"Wow." She gasped, glancing down at her sword. "Never tried that out before. Bad ******** a**." She grinned, and then lifted her chin up, and narrowed her eyes at Vasily, her tone becoming challenging.
"What does yours do?"

That had hurt -- not just hurt the way other blows had, glancing and then freeing, but striking him hard enough that he'd probably have a bruise later. Winded, Vash put a hand across his side and raised his own gun, jaw set in challenge.
The fear released, and he twitched as the gun bucked in his hand: not one shot of energy this time, but two. Of course, one went over her head and the other barely glanced, something that transformed his challenge into frustration.
"s**t! It does absolutely s**t!"

Maybe she felt bad for him. Maybe that’s why, when she made a motion to attack again, she stopped, bullets whizzing by, one grazing her, the other...
Who knew where the other ended up.
Or maybe it was just because she found the entire thing hilarious, from Vasily’s expression, to the words he uttered. Dottie had stopped, and she had begun to laugh, uncontrollably.

For a moment, he was too surprised to do anything at all. Then, Vash sucked in a sharp breath of annoyance and fired again, furiously, wildly, without taking the time to properly aim and line up and actually hit her --
A bullet whizzed by, and Dottie thought she had probably stop laughing, lest Vash actually manage to hit her.
With great difficulty, she managed to do just that, and cleared her throat while wiping an imaginary tear from her eye.
"Man, that's ******** rough. Do you think they do trade-ins on weapons, here? You should maybe look into that."
She was grinning beneath her mask, eyes narrowed, viciously mocking him as she spun her katana in her hand and stalked forward, aiming to strike him with another, purposeful, diagonal slash.

"I got a dud!" He sounded thoroughly outraged now, shaking his gun and firing off another shot -- while, in the back of his mind, Septimus morosely agreed with him. The ghost wasn't generally inclined to defend himself. In fact, he offered a few more reasons as to how he'd failed Vash in a low mumble, barely at the end of hearing.
At least someone was taking responsibility. And at least this time the shot hit her, if not hard.
The bullet struck her in the shoulder, jerking her sword wielding arm back with a surprising jolt that tingled all the way down to her fingertips, and nearly made her drop the katana. Her grip loosened, and then held firm, fingers flexing tight around the hilt of the weapon.
She was close enough, so instead of actually slashing at him this time, she threw a punch towards his face with the fist that was wrapped around her swords handle.
"Or maybe, it's just you." She replied, in an unkind tone.
It was either that or start laughing again.

She hit hard enough that he felt the inside of his mouth bruising -- could feel the way his shield had gone soft and flexible, how it didn't quite absorb the damage the way it should have. Still, Vash wasn't about to just lay down and give up, or call uncle, even if he probably should have.
"Oh, is that what we're doing?"
Instead, he swung back. Instead of using the gun as intended, he struck her in the chest with his gun like a club and, finally seemed to actually land a decent blow. His eyes lit up, even if he was pretty sure he tasted blood.
"Obviously, it's the weapon, I can manage just fine."
In a maneuver that caught Dottie completely off guard, and that she would later likely lose sleep over as she had a tendency to be incredibly hard on herself when it came to matters of pride, the sun trainee found herself slammed in the chest with Vasily's gun, hard, and she staggered backwards, eyes flying open wide.
"Mother <********>." She hissed, because that had actually hurt, more than any bullets he'd sent zipping her way, and her free hand lifted to press against her chest, where the impact site still somehow ached, and burned with her slow intake of breath.
Frustrated that he had gotten the better of her, even if it had just been in that moment, she let out a guttural sound of rage, and in her anger, did something that was, perhaps, incredibly stupid.
She drew her arm back and then whipped it forward, and threw her katana directly at him.

The crumbling of his shield was immediate and slightly alarming. That last strike was going to leave a bruise, he thought -- angry and dark, right across the line of his sternum. It knocked the breath out of Vash and for a blissful moment it rendered him silent.
Then he sucked in another breath and raised his gun, like he was prepared to fire again, whether he was at a disadvantage here or not. His finger tightened on the trigger and -- and --
All at once he was holding nothing but a key, his weapon desummoned and leaving him with a useless token instead. He made a strangled sound of annoyance, squeezed it again, and then dropped his arm again. He wobbled a little on his feet, and looked about ready to collapse. "Damnit."
She had thrown her sword, which meant that she was going to have to retrieve it from where it landed on the ground, but instead she was braced for the impact of another bullet.
At least, until she noticed that it wasn't a gun pointed at her anymore, but instead a key.
....Wait, what?
An eyebrow raised. "You uh, okay there?" She asked, noting the way he stood, how he might collapse at any second. In any case, he didn't exactly appear threatening at the moment, so she moved to pick up her katana, though she continued to eye him carefully as she did so.
It appeared, at least, that their little match up had come to an end.

His response was, predictably, a scowl -- eyebrows knitted and mouth pursed as he looked Dottie over. He still looked worn out, tucking the key slowly into his pocket to rub at his face, instead. It was a struggle, fighting back the urge to just sit down for a moment.
"Don't have to look so smug about it."
Vash shook his head and then shook his arms out, too, cataloging the little aches he'd be unhappy about tomorrow.
