Nivalis could never quite accurately describe her exact feelings toward the Alkidike on Chibale. Pride in her race and the strength of the Elaria warred with suspicion and uncertainty. The mainland Alkidikes had birthed the entirety of the generation that led the Elaria now, but the cousins that resided on Yael seemed intent to look down on and demean the family they'd left behind, and Nivalis felt like she'd never not be ready to spit at anything across the sea. The older cousins she lived with now had been banished because the rest of the tribe feared their ambition.
'They're weak and nothing to concern yourself with,' Niva wanted to assure Ceylinae. But she couldn't quite bring herself to voice the words. The strength her cousins displayed must have come from somewhere, and where else but those who had raised them or the goddess who had bloomed them?
She didn't know how to feel regarding the Alkidike across the sea.
Instead, she shook her head. "One of my greatest fears is that my sisters will leave me," she admitted. "But I expect that even if you do find your place to be off of this island, it will always be your home and this tribe your family. It is as I'd expect from the first daughter of Elzira."

Ceylinae glanced over at Nivalis as she admitted that her greatest fear was her sisters leaving her. It was a fear worth having since there were those that wanted to head out into the world. Not to mention the chance that others would be sent out regardless of what they might feel one way or the other. It was something that she now found herself worried about a bit and she felt that overwhelming desire to throw herself into training even harder, wanting to be prepared for whatever future might hold for their people. Antennae giving a rapid twitch she said, "Well, until such a time that I am given orders to do so I am going to stay on Yael." Best that the mystic knew that she would be around. Until the Dretch were no longer a threat she'd likely be within the boundaries of the village in fact. It was ideal in her mind since it impeded training but something that needed to be done so that she wasn't spirited away by those disgusting creatures. Giving the best smile she could muster as she was referred to as a 'first daughter of Elzira'. A title that seemed to carry some weight but also only made her want to push herself that much harder to try to live up to such a title. Her devotion to her sisters should first and foremost be applied to the mystic as she was the most important among them, far above Ceylinae or any of the 'First Three' and far above their cousins as well no matter their rank. Antennae all giving another twitch she said, "If there is anything you need of me in the future you need only ask, Mystic."

"This pleases me," Niva said brightly as she beamed at her older sister. For the moment at least, Ceylinae seemed convinced that she would feel inclined to linger around their camp. Even with the verbal reassurance, though, Nivalis wasn't sure she would ever be entirely swayed toward the belief that she or anyone else would stay indefinitely. Particularly with the dretch looming about, threatening their island... There was no telling how many of her sisters may take up the call to move to safer lands or how many would be abducted before the threat was resolved, or if the elders would decide to send their strongest warriors to face the demons.
Nivalis shook her head sharply. These were the exact thoughts she was trying not to linger on! It did her little good when she ought to be devoting herself to either helping her sisters emotionally, praying to the Great Mother for a solution, or beseeching the council to allow her to take part in whatever meetings they were holding.
She was young, with little to go on in terms of what her predecessors might have done, but it was important that she press onward and forge a reputable path for the Elaria.
A smile bloomed on her face again, and she dipped her head to her sister. "Thank you for worrying over me, Ceylinae. Now and always I hope to be a pillar of support for you, should you need it. Please don't ever hesitate to speak with me, if you find yourself troubled." And then, as an afterthought, "Or any other time, if you feel so inclined, even if you just need a friend to confide in."

Ceylinae gave a polite nod of her head as Nivalis thanked her for her worry, "Of course, Mystic." She felt that it was her place to worry after her, she was a very important woman after all. Even if she wasn't a Mystic though Ceylinae would still feel the same just because she was one of Ceylinae's sisters and therefore worth all the protections that she could offer. "Thank you as well, Mystic. I will come by again if I find myself in need or if you call for me." She said, giving the woman a smile and nod before she said, "I should return to my training now. I thank you for your time." Now that she knew that Nivalis was doing alright despite everything she felt that it would be alright for her to return to training. She'd been worried after the last gathering but she felt a bit more at peace now... or at least as much as she could given everything else that was going on in the world. Knowing that at least the mystic was well was a load off her mind and would allow her to proceed ever forward. She took a few steps away from Nivalis before she turned back and said, "Don't forget to send word if you need anything or have any work for me. I'm here for you and all of our sisters, Mystic." With that she turned and headed on her way, eager to get back to work.

Orpheus Solon I'll put a FIN on this, Orphy! <3 I know I'm not the fastest, but if you ever need more RP for Cey, please hit me up! Nivalis' lips quirked into a smile. Though it was true that all of her sisters were warriors, each powerful in their own right, it could surely be said that none were as devoted to the physical aspects of training as Ceylinae. The eldest of Elzira's daughters always seemed to be hard at work, stopping only for a concern for her siblings... It certainly wasn't one of Nivalis' greatest strengths. She was still leagues behind many of the girls in her age group, and she felt the strain of being not only among the weakest, but also among the least expected to rise to the same standard as someone like Ceylinae.
She would never be a 'warrior' on the same terms as her oldest sisters, and the thoughts chafed at her.
But perhaps that didn't matter. So long as sisters like Ceylinae, Naqenni, and Pruu continued to work their hardest and continued to express devotion and an unwavering commitment to the land in which their Great Mother had bloomed, perhaps it didn't matter if one girl- or even two or three- couldn't be as physically adept as others. She had her own role to fulfill, and Niva could hardly complain when others, Ceylinae included, didn't seem to balk at their own roles.
Nivalis' smile stretched into a full grin. She folded her arms behind herself and rocked back onto her heels. In the face of this new threat, it could only be time to prove themselves. She should be pleased for this opportunity, troublesome and frightening as it was.
"May the Great Mother's blessings go with you, Ceylinae. I believe in you."
