"Of course." Connie replied with a smile, glad Dani didn't seem to notice her almost outbreak. "Thank you for thinking of me." She added, happily taking her piece of cake and fork after Dani cut it for them. Truly enjoying every bite. Connie already knew this small little celebration with a friend would go a lot better than anything her parents would try to pull together last minute, and then most likely drop within the first few minutes.
She moved on from the thoughts as they finished up, knowing there would be no point fixating on them. Helping Dani gather the dirty dishes, she realized the time. Beginning to pack up, she was sad to go but also knew she would need to get some patrolling in tonight while she could before school started getting too hard.
"Thanks again Dani. If you have anymore trouble with your school work, just let me know ok?" Connie offered, giving the smaller girl one last hug before she would head out.
