The studio ( Universal) wants the producers to come up with the money to make the movie. The movie has already been written.Renee has had her 2nd child ( a girl) 2 weeks ago and will be ready with Lucy to start filming as soon as Universal gives them the ok.

Xena Valentine But if they make a movie then who will play Ares? Kevin smith died.... they could not have ares in the movie. that would solve that.

they don't have to have the same person play Ares, they could do someone different, though it would be cool if Kevin Smith were in the movie. It's too bad he died. cry

They did the same thing for dumbledor in Harry Potter the actor died a few months after the second moviee came out.

I don't think I could handle a Xena movie. As much as I loved the series, towards the end I kinda lost interest. It just wasn't any fun anymore when that whole twenty year lapse happened. Unless they can find a way to undo that, I probably wouldn't want a movie. Besides, what's the point if you don't have Ares? Even if they found another actor, it wouldn't be the same. I think they should leave the legacy as is, don't try and tweak it.

I found out that they are already planning a pirates of the caribbean 3... So, theres no telling what movie companies and such will do. I mean they already started filming it, and the second movie hasn't hit theaters yet! What if POC2 sucked? How well will the 3rd one do?
I think it would be awesome, but I would fear its making. Yes, Kevin Smith is dead, and if the script calls for someone to play Ares they WILL replace Kevin Smith. Just like the Harry Potter Dumbledor. It would be interesting to see how they make it, I think. and yea I would go and see it. But depenidng on how well they promoted it will deterimine if I pay 5 bucks or 1.50 to see it.
