Ter would be left to stand on the beach until the sun had risen a fair amount, probably leaving him with many questions and a bit of burning resentment over the fact that he had been left to stand on the beach for so long. But once the sun had risen somewhat, Terashi would be able to easily see his secret teacher further down the beach. She was currently laying on the ground, almost staring into the sky for the moment in concentration. Perhaps he should approach for his lesson?

Instead of resentment, I'd actually forgotten about my meeting with Liza and got caught up watching the sun rise, impressed with how beautiful the scenery was. I was, however, about ready to go back to the Pokemon Center and get some sleep when I felt a weird tug, which led me to gaze in Liza's direction. How long had she been lying there waiting for me? Did she know I was here? Only one way to find out. "You wanted to see me?" I asked, hopefully getting her attention.

Terashi would be greeted by light snoring as he began to speak to Liza, his teacher having evidently fallen asleep on the beach. Apparently, the early hour had gotten to her and she had gone back to sleep. Perhaps Terashi might wish to make an effort to wake her? Or maybe he might try to stretch his abilities to do it?

My first instinct was of course to shake her awake. But for some reason, I couldn't help thinking What if this is a test? So, I sat down five feet away from Liza and closed my eyes, trying to clear my mind before I thought thoughts at her.It's time to wake up, I thought. You're gonna get a sunburn if you keep laying there.
I couldn't help but feel silly doing this, but hell, it's not like I knew what I was doing.

Liza would remain laying down for a moment before she would open her eyes and stare at Terashi. Well, you're trying. But I guess maybe I should focus up and help you along. Slowly rising back up into a sitting position, the Gym Leader would turn to face the potential Psychic. "So, step one. Clear your mind. Already did that. Step two. You need to try and reach into your self. You should feel this little pulse in your head. Try and tap that. It should feel a little strange but press until it pushes back with a bit of force." Liza explained, watching for any reactions from the blonde trainer. She hoped that he might understand the strange way she had put everything and that it made some semblance of sense.

I nodded at Liza and closed my eyes again, focusing my mind while keeping my mind clear of outside influence. Eventually, I noticed a throbbing sensation. Assuming that was what Liz was talking about, I started focusing on it. It was weird. At first, it felt like it was always moving around. Then, it felt like it was in more than one place in my head at a time. Then, it felt like it was throbbing all around my mind, but not inside it. "Wait, no, that's my heartbeat," I thought aloud. Ignoring the warm sensation of my blood pumping in the skin around my skull, I tried focusing on myself again, pulling my consciousness toward the very center of my brain. But the closer I got , the harder it was to focus on the exact center. It got to the point where I wasn't sure if it was my very thoughts that were pulsing, or the blood inside my brain. Regardless, I tried surrounding the center of my mind with my consciousness and pushing from all sides, so that I couldn't slip and have to refocus again. It didn't work at first. My center would always find a weak point, forcing me to refocus. Eventually, I clamped it into one place, and when I accomplished that, I pushed with all my might, as if compressing it. I was so focused on doing this that I had no idea what was going on around me, though.

Liza would simply sit back as she watched Terashi begin to make an effort to tap into the Psychic energy that he possessed. Watching as almost an hour went by with the blonde stuck in concentration, she would begin to get up and see if she might be able to poke something out of him. Which is when the student found his center and decided to try pressing it. As hard as mentally possible.
Oh no.
Liza would dive into the sand as a wave of energy popped out of Terashi, blowing the sand around him as it did so. Remaining low for a moment as she awaited another blast, she shouted to Ter, "Too much pushing! You haven't got a way to handle that much go!"

As soon as the explosion of psychic energy went off, I felt a headache like no other, as if my mental center was sore from being pushed to its limit without even getting the chance to stretch first. "Oww," I grunted. Rala was quick to pop out of a ball in panic, but with the pain, I had no idea of hearing what she said. Liza would probably have no problem hearing because Rala was screaming at almost Gardy levels. It got to the point that I actually started to hear her after a while, but loud as she was, it was still faint. "I'm fine, Rala," I grumbled. "I just have a bit of a headache from overexerting myself. Should have known I wouldn't be able to pull anything off on the first tr... wait, the hell happened to the sand?"

Liza would rush over to Terashi's side once she was certain that he was conscious and not attempting to 'center' himself again. She hadn't been cowering on the ground trying her best to knock out her own telepathy due to Rala's psychic scream. She was way too talented and knowledgeable for that. Totally. She shot a dirty glare to the Gardevoir for a brief moment before returning her focus to Terashi. "Whoa! Okay. We have official proof you CAN do it. Because you just pushed out enough energy to move the sand like that." Liza explained, gesturing to the circle that was now drawn into the sand from this pulse.

"So I did that with my mind, huh? Neat," I said with a smirk. "Though I don't think I should push that hard again. Actually hurt myself a bit. Oh, and sorry about Rala. I think she just panicked. Rala, apologize to the nice Gym Leader.""Thank goodness you're okay, Master," Rala sighed mentally. "I thought you were getting attacked by a Pokemon or- oh. Sorry, Miss Liza.""Okay, now that we know I can do it, I should probably focus on focusing. If it's easier for me to manipulate my mental center, I probably won't have to push that hard to get something out of... oh, sorry," I started to say, cutting myself off when I realized what I was doing. "I shouldn't be telling myself what to do when I made it so obvious that I have no idea what I'm doing. You're the expert, not me," I added to Liza, though I felt like I had an idea about what I was doing, which was a nice change of pace - it wasn't up to me to decide how to proceed from here. That was up to Liza.

Liza would simply nod in response to Terashi's theorizing, giving a smile at the thought process of her disciple. "Yep! Just need to get that little center opened up a bit and we can manage to start working on your control a bit." Liza explained, glancing around the area for a moment. She would focus on the sun, which now sat nearly overhead of the pair. "Well, one attempt right now at least. its nearly lunch now."

"Alright," I said, trying to relax my mind as I stretched my body a bit, preparing myself for the second attempt. It didn't take me that long to focus on my center this time, but it didn't happen instantaneously, either. Once I did, though, I pressed gently, looking for results hopefully without creating a psychic explosion this time. That I had my own wellspring of psychic energy in my mind was crazy, but I tried my best not to think about it as I squeezed my mental core, gently but firmly.

Terashi would indeed find his center where he had managed to pin it down, allowing himself to focus for a moment once he pinned it down and began to pressure the figurative point. A slow energy would begin to build within Terashi as he did so, the energy pooling in the back of his mind before he would feel it snap into focus, his mind broadening as he began to feel everything with a mind in his range for a single moment. The egg, Rala, and Liza would all recoil from the sudden intrusion of their minds through sheer surprise and blunt force.
It would take a moment before Liza recovered from the intrusion, blinking for a moment as she adjusted. Looking down the beach to where she could see her Lunatone was now fallen onto the sand, she winced in response to what had happened to her partner. "Well, you managed to tap into your energy a bit without exploding. We REALLY need to work on control, but you got something out of it. Good." Liza said, glancing up towards the sun again as she did her best to figure out the time.

"Yeah, this is definitely the sort of thing that I need practice to be proficient at. Not to mention be able to do it without hurting people," I sighed, wincing as I held my head. It still hurt to apply pressure to my center, but not as bad this time around.
"Alright, I'm ready for a lunch break if you are," I sighed, standing up slowly as the pain in my head faded. "I don't want to bruise my brain trying to figure all this out in one go." I could feel Rala staring at me at that point, but I just smirked it off.
At that point, I told myself that it was nice to see that Sub wasn't wrong about all this, but I still wasn't sure if I was gonna go all the way with this yet. I was just learning. Still, there was a lot up in the air at the moment. Like if I'd ever actually need all the power a Channeler has. But I didn't need to worry about any of that at the moment.

Liza would nod to Terashi as he spoke, turning on her heel and waving towards her Lunatone to come along. "Well, your brain would be fine. It's your mind that we might invariably shatter into a million pieces." Liza said matter-of-factly, beginning to pace away towards Mossdeep City slowly.
The pair would quickly arrive at a small cafe that Liza sat down at without a care, gesturing to a nearby waiter to come over. "Well, best not to load up too much. Hate to be bloated and unable to work." Turning towards the waiter, Liza would tell her order. "One latte and a scone. Plus whatever he wants." She said, beginning to glance around the area with a careful eye. It seemed like she was expecting something or someone to show up and wanting to avoid that thing.
