Flame Length: +3
General Stamina: +1
General Agility: +2

Will be flying in the first wave

Ichta still wasn't feeling too excited about getting up in the air again. It had taken her (and a few others) almost 2 days to get Aurinkoth out of his grey-eyed funk after the last one, and while he know was as bright and cheery as ever, she wasn't looking forward to her best boy ever being sad again.

You were very sad too! Aurinkoth reminded his rider, sending her a bright wave of happiness as he settled in with the others of their clutch who would also be rising up with the first wave of blues and greens. And we'll do extra good today so Elzebuth's will be safe! he added. Ichta's chest tightened as she looked towards the hulking form that was the dark brown.

Yes. That's a good way to look at it. He'll be safe with the golds.

Aurinkoth seemed to brim with satisfaction at this, before he reached out to nudge his brother mentally. Mine sends her love - and I send you mine as well! We'll see you on the other side!

Will be flying in the first wave

Brieteth was never good when it came to Threadfalls. He became an excessive bundle of nerves as the days continued on towards it, and E'mel had learned quickly to accomodate for it by offering extra optimism to his sad but best buddy.

We will do fine, Brieteth. We always come home, don't we? he assured. Brieteth held in the desire to keen and cry, even as he looked over familiar faces. Oh, they had just lost a little one last week and there would always be more who- Brieteth. We always come home, don't we? E'mel reminded again and the blue was forced to accept that yes, this was very true.

And your mother will be watching too. We won't let her or the younglings down. he assured, patting the blue's neck. Brieteth at least seemed to calm a little bit.

M'aze of Bronze Zeath

General Stamina: 6
General Agility: 6

The call had come, as everyone had expected it to. It had been different a few Turns ago when Thread had fallen for the first time in ages. Everyone had been scrambling around, terrified, unsure, but somehow they had pulled through. Now it was the second pass of the silver thread and they were as ready as they had been in times gone by.

Zeath gave himself a little shake, testing the tightness of the harness that his rider had just done up. M'aze gave one shimmering shoulder a fond pat and one of the leather straps a tug, making sure all sat well. They had been doing this far longer than Thread had been falling, going through the motions of training and practicing, and the past two years had surely proven that it hadn't been for naught. It was time again to take to the skies to protect their home and those around them and, as usual, the pair was ready to work.

"What do you think?" M'aze asked as the instructional and motivational speech wrapped up. "Everything ready to fly?"

Yes, nice and tight. Nothing will shake loose, I'm sure, Zeath replied. As lazy as he seemed, Zeath was more than ready to answer the call to take to the air and defend their little section of Pern. It would take a lot of work from a lot of people and dragons both in the air and on the ground, but they had done it before and would see to it that it was done again.

"Wonderful. Won't be much longer now," M'aze said, running his fingers fondly over Zeath's hide as they waited for the call to mount and rise. Their wing would be in the lower altitude to being which suited them just fine.

Will be flying in the first wave

Is everything alright? G'lin was adjusting Neiveth's straps for the fifth time, and she continued to fuss about it. No! They must be perfect so I don't lose you! the dainty green insisted, causing G'lin to sigh with amusement as he once again undid them to flatten them out and start to put them on again.

Did anybody else have a dragon that particular?

And you'll be greatful for it too when we get home safe and sound, myG'lin! Neiveth reminded with a small 'tut'. She wasn't wrong as far as he was concerned - but she never was.

Of course.

Will be flying in the second wave

Everything is set, just how we like it! Alosha settled into her straps, carefully twisting them to make sure they didn't cause her pale green any discomfort. Phaedrath didn't even bother to make a second check - her Alosha was as particular as she was, after all.

Good! Then we'll be ready when it's our turn. Are you sure you want to sit in the straps for 2 hours, Alosha? she asked. Alosha 'hmmm'ed about it. Then laughed out loud as she climbed from her gear.

You're right. I'm going to see about bagging some more Firestone and double checking the flamethrowers again. But I'll be back.

The green rumbled as she watched her rider, going through her thorough second - or third- checks of everything. With Alosha, coming in halfway through everything wouldn't be too difficult, at least.

TORNADO WING
Thella of Brown Lireloth
HP: 38
Status Effect: N/A
XP:
Target Accuracy: 6
Flame Length: 6
General Stamina: 10
General Agility: 6
Between Accuracy: 6
Pain Resilience: 6
Instinct: 7
Luck: 6

Thella was just about done strapping everything down onto Lireloth who stood shifting his weight from side to side, eager to get to work. He had recently succeeded in catching a spry little green during her first flight and he was still riding the high from that, even if it had been over a week prior. He was a vain dragon to be sure and any sort of compliment to his appearance, skill, or prowess took ages to leave him.

"Stop strutting about, you big oaf," Thella said as she gave his backside a little slap. "You'll lose yourself out there and if you go down, so do I."

The large brown heaved a sigh as he glanced backwards towards the rider, his eyes whirling between a few colors indicating his excitement.

Thella, dearest, you know I keep my wits about me during Threadfall. We haven't had anything bad happen yet, mm?

"Yeah, and I don't want that to start today," she said as she made her way forward, hands reaching up to hold the massive head between them. She pressed a kiss to Lireloth's tan nose as she did before every flight, training or otherwise, and reached up to scratch his cheek fondly.

"Come on then. Time to listen up." They were both free spirits, but even they knew that at times like this it was vital that they listened to their Wingmasters and did as they were told. Mostly. Glancing to her left, she gave G'lin and Neiveth a little grin and a wave.

"Doing all right?" she asked, noticing the rider was re-doing his straps again for what seemed like at least the third or fourth time. Sometimes dragons were particular about how they sat on their bodies. Lireloth could get like that during practice, but during a real Threadfall he'd never complained.

General Stamina: +9
General Agility: +6
Between Accuracy: +6
Pain Resilience: +7
Instinct: +6
Luck: +7

We'll be going up soon. Dormith confirmed as W'dre secured his straps, a pale ghost on the shoulders of his dark dragon. Dormith was quiet, for all of the rumbling and noises of general nervousness that seemed to settle over all of the groups.

Good. I'm ready. The two had flown together long enough that a little threadfall wasn't about to make things too hard on them now. To that, Dormith agreed. He'd chosen a proper boy with an unshakeable heart, at least, so if they had to do anything in a pinch - he'd be ready, at least.

We will see you and yours when you rise to join us, Phaedrath. Dormith bid his green sister, watching as her rider left off to whatever sort of busy-body task she had set to that day. It would be only four hours - but it would feel like a century. It always did.

There was no scrambling as the call to arms came, especially not for this pair. A'dras stood beside his large bronze as they listened to D'mon. He was for sure going to make sure that his riders were taken care of. He wasn't afraid of sending one of his wingriders back to the weyr or down to the Queen's Wing if they needed it.

Gareth, for his part, had his whirling eyes watching the sky, calculating many different things. We will need to be careful this Threadfall, A'drasmine. The man chuckled softly at his dragons thoughts, getting a reproachful look from the bronze. "Oh, don't give me that look Gareth. I only chuckled because you are just repeating exactly what D'mon is saying. If you were just listening to him."

A'dras turned to check over the straps for the harness. "Everything feels alright?" Yes. Of course A'drasmine. The bronze rumbled, pressing confidence to his bonded as he did so. Another hearty chuckle escaped A'dras, feeling the confidence and proud about what they were going into. He knew his wingriders could do this, he had great wingseconds. The Hurricane Wing were more then prepared.

Training at HRW for past 2 Turns (+6 xp to all), +5 to distribute
Moderate damage from last fall.

Here they were again. Preparing for another Threadfall. Ly'bur looked up and listened to the Weyrleader's speech. At least it wasn't the Ashling Wing's first go or they'd all probably end up as Ash before the end. He shook his head remembering the loss of the one blue. They might very well loose more this time. From the reports he'd heard so far, it was going to be rough for everyone.

He checked the straps one last time, then checked that the numbweed which had been applied to his previous wounds was well set. "Alright Hinburath. Time to get you stoked." He held up a hard chunk of firestone and set it carefully in the mouth that opened. Ly'bur carefully watched and judged how much stone his dragon was eating. They'd worked together for so long, he knew down to about the smallest stone how much his dragon could take for a proper flame without feeling weighted down.

Ly'bur nodded as the brown informed him right on cue that he was full. He went to pick up his first set of firestone sacks and finish his final preparations. He took a moment to glance over the others in his wing.

Dr'stan of Bronze Ddraigth
HP: 46

XP: (Base Stat: +6 to all; +5 to everything else)
Target Accuracy: 6

General Agility: 7
Between Accuracy: 6
Pain Resilience: 7
Instinct: 7
Luck: 7

We will be legends! Ddraigth's voice cut into Dr'stan's mind as he was working on the harness and making sure it was secured around the bulk of his dragon. Ddraigth, if we die then we will be remembered as heroes. There was a snort from the bronze as he turned his head to look at his rider. We will not die. We are wingseconds, Dr'stanmine. We will defeat the enemy and continue to fight, but we will do so with honor and show everyone how strong we are.

The confidence and arrogance that radiated off of Ddraigth didn't phase Dr'stan any, he was use to this. He could temper his dragon when it was needed, right now the confidence was helping to get him focused and ready for the fight ahead. Threadfall was always tough, add being a Wingsecond onto that now and there was more responsibility riding on his shoulders.

Ddraigth caught site of his dark bronze brother and sent a wave of confidence to him. Dormith! Let us destroy the enemy this day, fight well brother. It was an easy scan for another dragon and Ddraigth send another wave of affection and confidence to the brown this time. Xaphrith! Fight well and send Dr'stan's love to Aniela.

Candidate Makimton
Prompt: Helping to make up beds in the Infirmary

Makimton had been selected to help the healers in the infirmary. It wasn’t a position he entirely enjoyed. In fact, he wish he wasn’t needed to do this. It would be awesome if the riders could fight the thread without any injuries! However, he knew that was unlikely. Not that he didn’t have faith in them, but dragon dung happened. And he’d heard rumors the winds were going to be nasty for fighting Thread in today.

Stuff was bound to happen. He’d rather make a bed that they didn’t need to use, than not have beds they really needed. He fluffed several pillows and smoothed the covers on several beds.

Candidate Nalacko
Prompt: Helping to bring supplies from the store rooms

She had been bustling ever since after she’d finished breakfast. The Weyr was a flurry of activity this day. Nalacko was carrying another armload of supplies from the store rooms to the table the healers would be using today in the weyrbowl. Her arms were tired and her back sore, but still she trudged on. The wings would be leaving soon, and she wanted everything ready and in place.

Nala went from table to table and station to station. She topped up anything that looked low or short. When her arms were empty, she looked over the next few tables and judged what they still needed more of. Then she headed back toward the store rooms.

TORNADO WING
Al'ndru of Bronze Alucarth
HP: 35
Status Effect: If applicable.
XP: (Base Stat: +6 to everything; +5 to distribute)
Target Accuracy: 7
Flame Length: 7
General Stamina: 6
General Agility: 6
Between Accuracy: 7
Pain Resilience: 7
Instinct: 6
Luck: 7

Hiding a yawn behind his right hand, Al'ndru leaned against Alucarth while listening to D'mon speak about this up and coming Threadfall. The man was listening, at least half way listening to what he was saying. It was all the same really, 'be careful up there, watch out for those of your wing, go back to the weyr if needed.', D'mon gave the same speech just about any time, at least to Al'ndru's ears and even though he was a wingsecond, the man just seemed bored.

An angry growl came from Alucarth as he bumped his rider making the man fall forward and stumble, almost hitting the rider on the other side of him. Al'ndru cursed under his breath, turning to look at the bronze dragon, who seemed very pleased with himself. We have a duty to work on, as well as a reputation to keep Al'ndrumine, do please pay attention.

The disdainful look that Al'ndru gave Alucarth was tired as well, showing how much he was use to dealing with his dragon's behavior and how much, at times, he was just done with it. "We aren't up in the sky yet Alucarth, and D'mon just goes on and on about some things." He went to run a hand through his hair before pausing and thinking better of it. That may be, but we are wingseconds now mine, do hold yourself to a higher standard. The man rolled his eyes at the comment before shrugging his shoulders and going back to leaning against his dragon.

J'in ran his fingers over Irath tack, making sure no strap pinched the brown's hide. Nothing was loose, nothing chaffed, and nothing was worn down and needing replaced. Triple checking out of nervouness. Irath was a warm relaxed thrum in his mind, and he absently brushed one of the firelizards clinging to the leathers. "Shoo."

Chai had claimed Irath head as her perch, over looking the small fair with whirling eyes. Quill joined the rest of her green sisters on Irath back, small chitters coming from them.

'Irath?'

Irath stretched, warming up and setting the flits blinking away back to their weyr. He thrummed, nudging J'in with his head, and shutting his eyes as his head knobs were scratched.

BURNING ACES WING
Tyra of Blue Orodreth
HP: 31
Status Effect: If applicable.
XP: (Base Stat: +4 to Everything; +5 to distribute)
Target Accuracy: 5
Flame Length: 5
General Stamina: 5
General Agility: 5
Between Accuracy: 4

Tyra and Blue Orodreth will be flying in the Second wave

This is what he was made to do, Orodreth fidgeted some on his feet, his tail flicking lightly back and forth as his eyes whirled up at the skies. Tyra was looking over the straps and his constant fidgeting had her lightly hit his side. "Calm down Orodreth, we will be up there fighting soon." The blue let a soft whine out at being lightly hit by his rider and turned a 'hurt' eye to her. Tyra wasn't phased and Orodreth quickly gave it up. Yes, I know but, I hate having to wait. Flying in the second string was not Orodreth's favorite, but it was what they had been tasked with this time around. All Tyra did was shake her head and go back to busying herself with looking over the straps for the moment. They had a while before they would be up in the air.

The blue, meanwhile turned his attention to look around the others of their wing, finding a larger blue and letting out a call to him. Krahsujunth, are you and yours going up with our wing? Are you flying the First wave or second? Tyra had already told the blue those from their wing they would be replacing and those that would be joining them, but it seemed he hadn't listened, or he just wanted an excuse to talk to the larger blue, who had seemed to mellowed a bit out more recently. Orodreth was certainly happy the blue's golden love had reciprocated his feelings.
