Lawrence glanced fleetingly at Melvin's neck and then immediately pulled his gaze away. "Wearing less." he said slowly. "...I think you should wear more. Keep the confidence up certainly but perhaps more layers. The trailer trash angle just might well be for you."
He nodded. "Yes, the more I think about it the more I think you should have a drastic image change, perhaps a greasy comb over."

He found the train of thought amusing, and leaned on hand on the table, leaning back to watch him. "Like a leather jacket and jeans. Should I throw my hip against a jukebox and ask someone to share a milkshake with me? I don't think I know the lyrics to Summer Lovin well enough for that look."
"I also don't think I can runic a motorcycle to work, though that is a nice though. I'm sure it would be nice to pick someone up on one if I could manage that. Sadly the roads here aren't long enough to fast enough."
He looked at Lawr. "Do you know how to ride a motorcycle?"

Lawrence shook his head at this suggestion, the leather jacket veered too close to bdsm gear which was not the direction he wanted to be going in at all. "No, that's too old fashioned." he said. "No good at all."
He shook his head. "No, I've never been inclined. My brother made me ride on his once with him and it was a truly awful experience. I prefer to travel in luxury in a large comfortable car."
He crossed his arms. "I think you should dress in a way that is further from my ideal."

He stared back at Lawr, frowning. "Further from you ideal? Then you really do want me to only attract garbage. I'm not about to roll around with crap and really have you disgusted. I deserve better than that."
He hopped up on the table and gripped it when it wobbled, looking down and wondering if this was one of the damaged tables. So far it was okay.
"Maybe I could get a nice set of suits. The effect is amazing on Simon, and it wouldn't be any hotter than the sweaters I wore. Could even do that mashup between casual business with a t-shirt underneath."

"Suits?" he said grimly before immediately changing his tone to perky and positive. "Like you were going to sell me a car? Certainly, go with that, sounds like a plan!"
He nodded. "The more casual the suit the better, have your t-shirt show through your shirt underneath and wear blue shoes."

Lawrence sighed heavily. "I'm sure you know how to score already without my help. I mean, off island you simply need to stop by the correct places or just get grindr or something of that ilk. You'll get hit up no problem at all, the weapon bond makes most people here look better than normal humans." He shrugged. "So you don't really need my help at all."
He frowned. "Besides, what worked when I was on the prowl would certainly not work now."

"I don't think what you have goes out of style, Lawr. The only reason you aren't rolling in it now is because the island hates you and the rest know you're married. Off island, I'd think would be a different story. But I never got to see you play freely off island and now I never will."
"I think I had it a bit easier when I was younger in college. Everyone wanted to hook up. All you had to do was walk into a party and pick up a solo cup and you basically were in most times. Someone there would want to hook up or else they wouldn't have a story to tell in the morning. Even bars around campus were great. That was years ago. I wasn't much of a expert before. Just easy fish. I don't think I'm any better now."
He played with the tongue depressor a moment and looked over at him. "Whatever I get, it just won't be the same. I'm not the same after you."

"It goes out of style." He said. "After a point what was seen as self care becomes perceived as desperate, of putting off the inevitable." The weapon bond had given him back vigor and health but he still wasn't his youth. "After Maja I would sleep with anyone." He said. "Regardless of age, I found a few widows willing to pay extra for additional services after their card readings and why not?"
"I will admit thaf though I strive to do what Rodney finds pleasing I will never really understand the monogamy fetish. I don't have the patience I had in my youth but I still think of sex as separate to love in many ways. I didn't much care for love. It is amusing to think that I once was considered a "twink" when I slunk off in the throes of denial to clubs. What am I now? An aging queen."
He gave Melvin a somewhat softer look. "You just tell yourself that now, one day it won't matter at all to you, one day you'll look back on me and tell another person how strange and mad your ex was and laugh."

"I think maybe a wolf would best describe you, but I never was in that party lifestyle to know all the animals of the same-sex kingdom. A queen only if the country was a matriarchy."
He eased off the table, cringing as it creaked again and went to clean his glasses on his t-shirt.
"You make yourself seem like a bittersweet stepping stone. I'm not leaving, Lawr." He placed his glasses back on, looking back at him. "I'm never going to leave. No matter how much you want to believe I'm going to migrate to warmer bedrooms, or how much other people might want me gone, I will not be leaving. My talons are firmly set."
Walking back to the counter, he resumed cleaning out the cabinet. "You don't plan on doing anything drastic, do you?"
