After a good minute of attempting to what looked like assimilate the book into its entire being only to have it reject the shadow shape and fall out of it, it had simple devolved into very plaintive cries that devolved further into anger.
Green eyes stared down at Rep. "You did this." It scattered down to the sand covered grass to retrieve the book. "You did this." And then, uncharacteristic of what it had been like during whatever dream Rep had had, it bristled, quite cat-like, and backed up a few more paces.

Rep shrugged. "Did I?" he said, looking somewhat indifferent to the fact that he was responsible for something negative, actually fairly used to being the one to blame for most things. "That's pretty ******** impressive then. What did I do exactly and are you going to hand that back over? Maybe I can actually help you."
He shrugged. "Or, you know, you can keep fighting with it."

"Oh right," Sam finally brought up, as agreeable and casually as ever, "He means me."
The next thing Rep knew he was out - something had hit him hard-
- And when he woke up there was just the book and no sign of the other two.

Rep groaned, rolled over and then reached out and took hold of the book, holding it to his chest. It was more or less an instinctual act, before any of his other lights had even come on properly. The world spun a bit, slowed and stopped.
"Sam?" he asked uncertainly and then sat up, frowning. He had not the ******** faintest idea what had just happened to him, but in his division he could only assume that it was par for the course random acts of violence. He felt a bit sick.
At least he had the book though.
And against all better logic, he hoped that mask - or whatever the shape had been that vaguely resembled his size - was all right.

Unlike prior, there were no indicative clues, no footprints, nothing. Sam had long left it seemed, and upon checking any form of cellphone, he'd notice that it was a few hours later, the tide a lot closer than it had been earlier.
If Rep took a good look at the book, he'd notice that there was one additional green what looked like marble fastened into one of the previously empty sockets on the cover. It looked new.

Rep had been out on the beach a while. It wasn't unusual, he'd take long walks when he was feeling low, or go out to arrange his broken cup and animal parts pile.
Rep, unlike Jordan, didn't really need alone time. He spent most of his alone time wishing someone would come find him and spend it with him. So as soon as he got off helping in the infirmary, he went to go find him.
Rep's cell phone buzzed gently in his pocket.

During Harrison's trek out, a piece of underbrush, lingering bits of leaves and vines had snagged onto his coat, but that was relatively normal too, especially after the recent events, everything on Deus had seemed a lot more lively and green.

Rep sighed when he realised the time he'd lost, uncertain once again what had even happened to him. He hated losing time, always anxious in a deep rooted way that when he was out someone else was walking around as him. It was a difficult feeling to assuage when at night he actually did become someone else in his dreams.
Picking up the book he did check it over to make sure nothing was ******** up and gently touched the marble thing, before being distracted by the buzzing of his phone. Harrison was probably a little worried, he tended to send him a lot of texts throughout the day and there hadn't been any at all.
He texted back.

Harrison didn't notice the leaves, tromping down the path to the giant tree that was now apparently part of daily life, and hadn't been causing any trouble or problems for them whatsoever. He sent Rep back a text that he'd meet him.
Harrison spotted Rep where he said he'd be, looking kind of dazed and holding that stupid book.
"Getting kind of late, huh?" He asked, cautious. "You ready to head back?"

And clinging to Harrison's coat was it. Though Rep would see it as a shadow, to Harrison, it just looked like some kid, maybe five or six with rather bland, but likeable features and oddly green hair.
- "Family," he declared in an all too familiar voice, not letting go of the latter's leg. He stared at Rep as if challenging him, and Rep could see him shadows and mask and all. The book in his hand was now warm to the touch, the strange marble fastened to the cover glowing, light green-
- And if he let go of the book at any moment, the shadow would appear as Harrison saw it.

Rep didn't seem too distressed about the fact that Harrison had a shadow by him, so long as it was a friendly one he wasn't about to judge. He recognised it and that was frankly good enough. His expression immediately brightened, unable to help himself.
"Ace! You ********' found him!" he said, suddenly bright and eager where before he'd been considerably depressed.
He got up and tucked the book into his pocket and started at the way the appearance changed. "Mask!"

"Found- uh? H-hey," Harrison said, hands up as if the kid was a snake.
He knew the voice, of course. Although unlike Rep, he hadn't met Mask outside of the instance where they'd all been married and had kids and had been heralds of the apocalypse. But what happened in weird dream visions stayed there, apart from the odd artifact or power boost or whatever. Usually whole persons (minus the dreamers) didn't translate over.
"Uh. Hi. Mask." He'd helped put together the basket. He'd told him that there was nothing better than fighting, and the blood of the enemy. They'd told stories and cooked and when they were together the clan stuff didn't matter. But they weren't horses. They never had been. There'd never been kids. So...
"Rep," Harrison asked slowly, "Why's our horse-kid here?"

"Mom," the kid said brightly, still clinging to the fabric of Harrison's pants, "Dad?" It wasn't very good at genders, and seemed a lot less developed than the one from their dreams.
Whatever had happened in between the time gap, at least the shadow was much more better behaved now. It saw Rep tuck away the book though and held one hand shyly towards him, in what it thought was asking for the book.

Rep could not smile any more if he tried, everything about him radiating sheer delight. "You can call us both Dad." he said helpfully, before flicking his gaze up to Harrison. "Right?"
Rep made his way over to the extended hand and took it, assuming he'd reached for him rather than the book. "Hey there dude, you found us!"

"Yeah, Dad- I...guess but uh," This had happened before, with Rep dragging home mystery kids for mystery reasons. "Is there something I should know about, though? Like uh, like who...?"
Rep softened up immediately, though, and it wasn't like the kid was a stranger this time, just that he didn't belong here.
"Mask, huh," he repeated. "Was he looking for us?"
