She'd barely even had time to stick the landing when something struck both her and Shik hard enough that she actually felt the Fear drain out of her, and along with it, her strength. Gasping, she staggered, but recovered herself with another broad sweep of her wings, refusing to fall, or falter. She hovered in the air, a hand pressed against her side, and glowered at the sword wielding figure that had rushed them. This one packed a punch. This one could actually prove to be challenging. Slowly, a smile crept over Shaheen's face. Already, invigorated by the promise of a real fight ahead, she felt her strength renew. OOC

She wasn't stupid. They were going to have to face this foe as a team. A look was shot her partner's way, a clear are you ready? given in that quick glance before she dove forward, brandishing her blade not to strike, but to clear a path, and give Shikoba a better chance at doing some real damage. Before he could make a distasteful comment at being treated like some common pet, something blindsided them. It was enough to knock Shik out of bear form--gradually, that is, after several seconds of shrieking as his claws dug through the floor and walls to keep him from being bowled over entirely. He stopped on all fours and rose as a humanoid, nails bleeding from the stress, smugness tinged with irritation. As much as he hated to waste time, Shik didn't immediately throw himself back at the hunter. He was getting better about it, this concept of teamwork. At least, with Shaheen anyway. Sinking his fingers into one of the larger wounds, he willed his fear to close the gap and gave Shaheen a short nod. "Too late for your friend," he said through a clenched skull's grin as he felt his second wind coming on. "Come closer, I almost tasted it." ((using Y3 chill))

"No," the finally responded, sadly at first. "It's too late for you."
It didn't sound exactly ominous, more determined than anything else. It sounded simultaneously like a child and parent protecting something important to them, both weak and furious and then-
- The shadow's weapon shifted to a different shape, to another weapon. No-
- To their own weapons. OOC

TURN 2:
The weapon the boss is holding takes the illusion of whatever Shik and Shikeen are holding as weapons, respectively. So for Shik she sees his own weapon, etc.
They are on the DEFENSIVE, meaning they will not attack this turn. Instead, your characters may choose to attack, but upon doing so, are hit with the same damage they do to the boss to themselves, in a perfect mimicry of their attack.

Shaheen let out a snarl of frustration. First, the thing hits them with enough brute force to nearly dissipate her, and now it stood back, making threats, and it's weapon had just morphed into her own. There were times when she could be a patient woman, even in battle. Now was not to be one of those times. She narrowed her eyes, fingers clenching tighter to the hilt of her own weapon, the real one, both a reassurance that it was still within her own grasp and just because she was ticked off. With another loud cry, she moved forward, this time not to deflect a blow that apparently wouldn't fall, but to strike, her blade cutting cross-ways towards the shadowy hunters middle sections. And then pain, as she felt what should have been a solid hit against their foe sear across her own skin, blood dripping from a sudden open wound across her abdomen. She hissed, and stepped back, but kept moving, circling around, keeping a wary eye. "Careful. This one wants to be tricky." She commented towards Shik, all while keeping her eyes locked on it. Damage: 7 + 2 = 9OOC

Shaheen's engagement confused him slightly. He saw that the figure had his own kris dagger, but she fought with her short sword as if she were fighting something else...His sneer darkened. More illusions, then. He considered transforming back into a bear to smash the shadow into a proper 2D form once again, but he had the same pride as Shaheen. Dagger in hand, he used his wings to fly forward, alternating between slashes and claws, and he found that their opponent was mimicking him. Mockery. He snarled again, but nothing he did seemed to affect it. The only silver lining was that it wasn't immediately throwing him to the ground again, but that wasn't a fact that soothed his temper. Shik growled and licked some of the blood off his fingers as he backed off. "Tricks," he said, insulted. "Always humans must have tricks to fight. Steal from their betters to do anything with their miserable lives. You were never more than parasites, hunter." DMG: 7 + 2 = 9 bc doing the same dmg is true otp
