[ Zeke - A drunk in post-apocalyptic Canada ]
No one could really agree on when the fall had started, or what exactly had been the cause. Some said it was the war, that the nuclear arms had been the catalyst. Other's said it had started long before that, with the depletion of resources, and the demand that had sparked the conflict. Regardless of what, the results had been the same across the world. Most of the humans had survived the initial explosions that had rocked the globe, but with the majority of the crops and live stock gone, well, it was only a matter of time.
And then, of course, there was the Blight. As if starvation hadn't been enough of an epidemic. As the first infected began to show symptoms there had been a panic, a race to use what little resources were left to them, but it was too little, too late. There just hadn't been enough time.
What was left of humanity now fought for what little they could find. Except for a few lonesome individuals claimed by no pack. By choice or by exile.
He didn't care, he didn't want to belong, didn't need it. It was easier on his own, away from rules, and morality. Away from anyone he stood a chance of getting attached to.
It hadn't always been like that. In the beginning he'd had a family, a wife and a daughter, but the Blight had taken Tabitha in the first wave of infection, and Harley hadn't survived long after that. Zeke suspected it had been a broken heart that had taken her, but that had been years ago. It didn't matter anymore, not now.
It was easy to believe that when he sought solace in the bottom of a bottle. Mainstream liquor was a thing o the past, but every outpost brewed or fermented their own. It was good business, and Zeke certainly appreciated it. Everything was seen through a haze now. Senses dulled and mind numb. It helped him forget. He could never forget. It made things bearable. Just barely.
He honestly didn't know anymore why he kept going. There was nothing left for him here. No family, no friends, no connections of any kind. Why did he continue to fight to live, what was the point?
"Aw s**t..." Had he just reached the end of his last bottle?

[ Liam - A mercenary(trainer) in a Pokemon universe high school ]
Trainers weren't supposed to be tethered to such foolish things as schools, and yet, that's what Liam found holding him back from beginning the biggest journey of his life. The whole world was waiting for him, and he was stuck in this chair, waiting for the clock on the wall to tick it's slow way around to three o'clock so the ring of a bell could dismiss them all for the summer.
It was taking it's sweet time. Hell, Liam wasn't even entirely sure it was still working. It seemed to him as if he'd been staring at it for what felt like twenty minutes, and it hadn't moved once in all that ti--
Oh, there it went.
Still, time was certainly dragging it's a** today.
With a sigh Liam's hand fell to the minimized ball at his hip that contained his new Mudkip. She didn't have a name, not yet, because he'd only just gotten her the day before, and he didn't think he'd spent enough time with her yet to pick something. It'd come to him, he was sure of it, once they got on the road.
Baby blues flicked up to the clock again. The minute had had moved, a little. Two twenty eight, instead of two twenty three.
With a grumble the teen sank down a bit in his chair, feet stretching out beneath the desk of the girl in front of him. She was older, a bit more wild; her short hair buzzed on one side and colored on the other. Harper Cain. All dark skin and darker freckles. Liam had always had a bit of a thing for her. She was a free spirit, a bit intimidating, but always nice.
He was going to miss her...
Suddenly she was turning her her seat to lean an elbow on Liam's desk, and he blinked up at her, startled. "Uh, hi." Just as articulate as always.
But she just smiled back at him, and then, in a low voice, leaned a bit closer to whisper. "Hey, a little birdie told me that you were heading out today after school lets out. Is that true?" He nodded dumbly, still a bit too shocked to properly form sentences. "That's awesome! I'm leaving, too. Do you wanna team up for a bit, travel together? Maybe just to start? " Liam felt his brows arching ever closer to his hair line. Was this really happening. "I mean, only if you want to, but it'd be safer, you know?"
"I, uh," he started, then cleared his throat as he sat up again. "Yeah. I mean, sure." Tis was really happening. "Do you want to keep at the sign welcoming people into town around five?"
Harper grinned at him. "Yeah, that sounds great!"

[ Nergui - A sellsword in a Wonderland mystery ]
Hatters were not typically warriors, but then again, Hettie had never quite fit the mold from which she'd been cast. Eccentric, certainly, and she was as made as they came, but there was more to the petite woman than meets the eye, and she had never been content with tea parties and mindless fun. She felt as though she had a larger purpose, and thought it had taken some years, she found she wasn't alone in such sentiments.
They'd selected her because she'd shown so very much promise. Not just strong and tenacious, but clever as well. She had a thirst for knowledge, and soaked it all in like a hungry sponge. It meant she saw more, connected farther stretching dots.
It meant she'd stand a better chance of figuring out what exactly had happened at the castle, and where to find the legendary Vorpal sword that had gone missing.
It wasn't going to be easy, Hettie knew that, or why else summon her? There would be either be next to no clues, or none that made any sense to those that had already investigated. She'd be working off bread crumbs, but she'd worked off less than that in the past and come out ahead. This would be no different.
As she came to the end of the Tugley Woods the castle finally came into view. Tall and twisting and halfway between beautiful and menacing. Hettie rather liked it, but then, she wasn't quite right in the head. The queen, madder even than the rest of Wonderland, had a fierce temper with a hair pin trigger, and more than once a wrong word or action had sent some poor soul or another to the their decapitated deaths. Hettie wasn't worried, the queen needed her. It meant she was, at least temporarily, safe from those ever shifting moods.
Humming idly to herself, a mile resting on full lips, she heeled her horse into motion again, following the path down the hill towards the main road to the castle. It wouldn't be long now.

[ Yaya - The bartender on a space station, in the midst of a musical ]
"Closing time," she sang softly as she polished the inside of a glass with a clean rag. "One more call for alcohol, so finish your whiskey and beer." They were always singing, Herself included. Haddy didn't know why, exactly, but that was just how things had always been, and no one seemed too keen on changing it.
"Closing time. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here" Another voice had spoken up to join the black haired bartender, and she grinned across the bar at him.
Setting the glass down, Haddy slipped out from behind the bar to join the red head in the center of the room, and together they grasped hands, singing. "So gather up your jackets, move them to the exits. I hope that you've found a friend." Arms extending, Ren smirked as he spun her into a perfect twist and dip. His lips brushed her's, and then they were up again, bounding out the automatic doors of the bar and into the window lined halls of the space station.
"I know who I want to take me home." Their voices wove together as they danced among the stars. "I know who I want to take me home." Intricate and perfectly choreographed, but completely spontaneous. "I know who I want to take me home, take me ho~ooome."
He pulled her in again, their bodies highlighted by a glowing moon, and as a sun rose off in the distance, they came together for a passionate kiss.

[ Olivia - 18. Magical Girl Anime - 13. Abandoned *location here* (ie: abandoned playground) - 14. A helicoptor pilot]
The blades beat against the air in a rhythmic secession as she hovered close over the building, abandoned for what it was after so many years because of the constant chaos - or because the company had gone over, it was always hard to tell these days. Her eyes scanned about, staring and peering on her constant watch. This was her spot, where she always found at leas some activity. It was odd really, despite how they preyed on helpless individuals they always would gather into the abandoned buildings that littered the city.
Olivia found her thoughts interrupted as a shadow caught her attention, her eyes lit up and a mischievous smile crept on her features. One hand on the back of the seat, she pushed off into the air to tumble down below.
Other girls would have probably landed daintily, the toes of their shoes inches away from the ground to land. Not her, Olivia fell like a ton of bricks in the classic super hero manner, forming cracks upon the cement before she got up and struck a pose. A hand on her hip, the other pointed out with her legs strong and firm. Wind seemed to bellow behind her, kicking up the ruffles of her skirt and the thin drapes of her bows that looked oddly like helicopter blades. "Looks like you're not cleared for landing ~" An explosion occured behind her, not for dramatic flair from her entrance but simply because her helicopter had crashed into the building, as it was unmanned.
The monster was struck back, not from the fear that these cutely dressed girls caused around the city but because it had no idea what to make of the one that had found her. The explosion, the stupid catch phrase and the stupid grin on her face. It decided to run. Olivia gasped then puffed her cheeks.
"Heeey, noo!" She thrust her hands out then rotated them slightly, "Apache 'copter turbo shot!" The air around her glowed, cold blues and greys, dancing about until they solidified into tiny little helicopters with even tiny little missiles. They screeched out at the monster, who now upon seeing the absurd power that this girl possessed ran faster for its life.
They fired little bits of light, making the creature trip. Its form hit the pavement hard, dislodging the hold it held for its features ever so slightly. Its body rippled as more tiny pellets of energy continued their barrage. It cried out, unsure of what was happening. How was this a power? Everything else was elemental but this blue haired girl... had, it didn't know what. It wouldn't know as the attack continued, they all slammed into it finally ending its short reign of terror.
Olivia could only smile as she watched as it disappeared along with her summons. "Aa, yay!" Along with a little jump of victory.

[ Milo - 10. Documentary (narrated!) - 18. Arena - 16. The ultimate villian]
"It was now that the shock of the crowd began to settle and die down," the voice continued in its soothing monotone manner, their best attempt as a low rate Morgan Freeman. "they began to murmur among themselves, trying desperately to see if anyone one of them could gather what had happened down in the arena.
Oh how they had cheered on as each of the participants had made their way through the great maze. Many had not made it through, so many of them had been cut down from the terrors that waited behind each corner or even the few that were from each other. But he had stood out against the rest. That smile and confidence that had wooed the serious gamblers. He had been different to some, his silly antics and how he had inspired a little confidence in a few of the others." There were slow cuts, jumping from acts that the brown haired young man had performed. Freeing a particular red haired girl from a bear trap and carried her to safety.
"Not traditional in any sense, so many would have taken out the wounded when they could like so many before." He bound her wound, they had talked but their words did not translate to the screen. They shared looks for all those days that they were together in that giant arena, trying to survive to the end." But he had helped, carried a couple. Had told jokes, had even posed. Was it all an act?" Even the voice over had sounded a little solemn.
"No one knew, no one could get into his head at the dramatic turn he had taken at the center of the maze. How that smile turned into malice and that weapon turned on those he had befriended and had trusted him." The red haired girl was no there by the end of it and the heartbreak that held on his face was obviously missed by those so far away, watching as his revenge took place that day. The day he broke alliances because they had first.
"It was said once, in a great movie I cannot remember, that you either die a hero or one say see yourself become the villain. And perhaps that is what happened that day for Milo Hale. The once inspiring champion in the Great Maze who betrayed all he held dear." One single name was screamed as he lunged at the last of them, settling to take them down.

[ Maple - 6. Detective/mystery - 11. In an MMO (your char is playing an mmo, for this prompt your character would be the MMO character in that game). - 17. The antihero]
Their reactions always confused her, the helpless thanks and the few insistent trades that they tried to open up to her like it was a sort of payment for the aid she had found herself providing. It wasn't like she was trying to help them as she moved throughout the mystery of the game.
She was just trying to do just that, figure out the mystery. It was the point of this particular activity after all, despite the open world and non-linear module that she was used to in video games. It was exploring, talking to others - despite her reluctance in that - and just generally finding clues. It was all she really wanted to do but somehow along the way she just kept running into other players and helping them out.
Maple sighed as she waved off the window that appeared before her and quickly used one of teleportation nodes so she could get away from the couple before they got a little more desperate to give her something that she didn't need. Appearing a few blocks away, she activated one of her stealth modes so she could continue on in peace.
There were more clues to find, after all, so she could solve the next case - this particular one was a puzzle in the woods and she needed to find the spoon that had disappeared from an old woman's house that would then allow her to find the scroll that would get her the location of the right knot in the tree. She didn't need to deal with people!

[ Waits - 15. Post apocalyptic - 16. Pokemon (somehow, pokemon world AU) - 7. A wizard]
For all that had come upon the world for so long it always surprised him the wonder in the eyes of the remaining youth when he performed something so simple. How they had once lived in a world filled with wonderful beings that performed near magic, abilities that they could only dream of as humans that had commanded them for so long. Had trained these beasts to do their every whim and now these children were fascinated by simple science.
It was why they called him a wizard, perhaps. Because it wasn't something they couldn't understand in this new world. Where the beasts had finally risen up, cut off their shackles and destroyed the orbs that had enslaved them for so long. How they found their power and turned it against the humans who had thought of them as lesser (and sadly to those who thought of them as dear companions, friends and loved them). A world now cut off from the outside where those creatures roamed free and they were left to find anywhere safe underground or within abandoned sanctums.
But had they never learned the basics of elements? How Water was weak against Electric and Dragon against Fairy? It had been common knowledge for so long and here now the simple combination of acids in a flask seemed to fascinate them as he worked to create something that could aid them in the next raid for supplies in the next town across Route 10.
Perhaps that was why though, these children never got the chance to strike out on their own and find their place in the world. To find how things had worked when he was younger, to grow and evolve as their monsters had done. No, now they had to learn different things. Nothing of science or how practical things could be made, but only what they could to survive. How to hide, how to cover in the darkness to go find food for several others. Useful knowledge changed in this new world that they lived in.
"Leave me alone," he finally growled at them, he needed to work.

Clyde was just a DJ. He pumped his tunes out, had had been for half the night, just a bobbing along. The crowd stirred and he hear a few high pitched screams, but that wasn't entirely unusual this late at night. Bad singing was common. Also common was druggies coming in off the streets, which seemed to be the later today. The bouncers would get them. His job was merely to keep the party going.
Clyde turned up the beat and kept it rocking. Boom Boom chica chica boom boom. He was having a good time and wasn't going to let anyone ruin it.
That was until one of the crowd tried to get up on the stage. "Hey, employees only friend." he frowned ready to call over a bouncer when he realized, the crowd was clearing. the screams got worst. It couldn't just be from the one guy, girl, it was hard to tell.
"Wait, yo, are you sick?" they were moving oddly, in jerky movements. "Go do it in the can man." The smell hit him. It was gross, like they hadn't bathed in weeks. Grab a shower man.
The person reached for him and grabbed his foot. Clyde wasn't having none of that. he took the microphone and smacked them. "Back off, security!" no security came. That was odd. He glanced around again and realized that they wouldn't. other people were being attacked. What was this, a riot? It didn't seem like a riot.
The person grabbed higher on his leg, grip tight. "Hey...." the person tried to bite down on him. Clyde hit them hard enough to brake their jaw. It hung open and they came after him again as if not feeling the pain.
Clyde stared for a moment before running.

The club had been packed when the attack happened. They didn't know where the zombies came from but they burst in just in the middle of Aisha's set. It was her first headlining night. It was the moment she'd been waiting for. The crowd was going wild and writhing and bouncing, a rolling wave that beat with the rhythm of the song... Until the cheering turned to screaming, screaming over the music, and then the soundboard simply stopped and it was mayhem. She did the only thing she could think of. Aisha checked her inventory and only found her usual selection of self defense items: a pocket knife and some mace. At a lack at what to do she equipped them and fled. One her way out, back through the staff area, she found a broom stick and a heavy wrench, using them to take on one stray zombie before she found her way into the street. The staff room was too good to ignore and she was sure right on the other side was the outside world. Best prepare here now before she pressed on. Her club clothes were swapped for jeans, boots and a leather jacket. She stuffed her pockets with money and grabbed a backpack to fill with whatever she could find. It certainly doubled her carrying capacity. Thinking she was finally ready, Aisha took a breath in front of the door, "Three.. two.. one.." Moments later she reformed back in front of the door, her gear damaged but with a better idea of where to go.. "Definitely not that alley.."

(wrong dice, Kimberly again) Fantasy-Wizard-Horseman Isle
It seemed that the unicorns had come this way, and if she was to bring them back home without them being harmed she would need to pass over an island just across the way. On the island was a tribe of non magic users but that didn't scare her. The Unicorns were her first priority. Checking her spell components she opened her book, murmuring a needed spell that would let her rise over the water and make it to the island. She knew there would be a chance that the magic would stop working but that was a risk she would have to take. There was no telling what a non magical tribe may do to the rare equines.
The young reaper mage sighed a bit as she landed on the new island and started walking, only to notice something horrific. It seemed that they were trying to use the Unicorns as mounts! The poor Unicorns were scared and were rearing and trying to pull away. Kim pulled out her bag of components and wand and started formulating a spell that would allow the delicate creatures a chance at escape, even if it put her at risk herself. She moved the wand in the air, murmuring softly, sprinkling some glowing powders over the wand. It was now or never, if the horsemen took the unicorns, there was no telling what harm would come to the kingdom of Halloween and the surrounding areas.
She let the spell go and waited to see what would happen, if things went wrong there was no telling of the future.

Quote: [ Ashanti ] 14. Disaster 10. Horsemen Isle 3. A doctor
"Do not worry, you will be alright. This will ease the pain..." she said, spreading the salve on her fellow Horseman's arm. The Isle had been hit with a massive disaster; they still didn't know what it was, not really, but something had brought calamity to the clans. She would heal, and bring peace to those too hurt to heal.
That was her duty after all.
The Horseman groaned in pain, but their face relaxed as the salve soothed their wounds and pain. Their leg was not going to survive the night and they both knew it, but for now, for now they were calm.
She moved to another patient with a grim expression on her face. So many dead and countless more injured... For an unknown reasoning or cause. Some said the Hunters. Others said the elders. Other still claimed it was natural and unavoidable. She... did not believe this was true. Yet she did not know why and did not have a better explanation.
It was not her place to question, only to heal and help.
So she did. With countless injured clansmen, lighting a candle for those who would not long survive the world and disappear. Some may call her odd for lighting the candle. Yet some families appreciated the gesture, able to mourn their losses long after the body had dissipated. It showed respect and remembrance, in a time when only vengeance was in the air.
For the night was dark and full of terrors, and she would guide them through it with light.

Quote: 16. Zombies 12. The mall 8. Infected with the zombie virus “Alright, you snivling cowards, listen up as high as you can! There’s a whole crowd of brain-nommers out there and I’ve got the only light bulb in my head that still turns on. If you follow my lead, you might just all end up making it home in time for pudding hour!” Sanjiva, the Corn Wiener Artisan at Victory on a Twig, was straight to the point as she addressed the small crowd of Mall customers, employees, and walkers. Her meager audience was impressed by how well she was handling the outbreak. The cause of the rapidly inflating number of zombies was still unknown to everyone. Finding a cure was not their current concern though. Keeping the contents of their skulls from being devoured was their immediate priority. “We’ve gotta barricade these doors now! I want them impenetrable! Got it? Like that thing the Great Wall was supposed to be. I want secure. More secure than a vault, in space, guarded by a few thousand Space Cerberussss-s, and a Space Zeus for good measure. This is actually my first time being in a Cold Subject store, and I’ll be damned if I die here!” She kept the crowd focused as they formed a barricade with anything they could find. She frowned as she helped them build a stronger barrier. “Why is thing mostly made of belts?! Aluminum spikes aren’t going to impress zombies enough to scare them off!” The commanding Corn Wiener Artisan shrugged when they finally finished making the barrier. “Well, looking at this makes me want to shake my head and leave. Good work. Now I’m gonna need a show of hands. Does anyone here have a shotgun, a chainsaw for a hand, or a really mean roundhouse kick? Nobody? Is anyone here good at doing one-liners? Nobody at all? That’s perfect!” A huge grin took over Sanjiva’s face as she looked at everyone who was now trapped inside the store with her. “You see, before I ran into any of you wonderful people, a foxy red-head took a bite out of my a**. Hurt like hell and gave me this little hunger for juicy skull goodies. And right now, that hunger for skull goodies is boiling over. I’m just ripe peachy to have all of you to myself!” In a flash, the crowd’s hero turned feral and began her feast. It was over all too quickly and the zombie Corn Wiener Artisan wiped the blood off her face. “Still just as hungry. I think I can hit one more store before I finally lose my marbles completely and go full-on zombananas. Next stop, Never Blackjack!”
