An eyebrow arched at the mention of Amy but if he'd been perturbed at the question of his ex-wife, he didn't let on. Instead, hazel eyes seemed to direct themselves upwards as he fell back into a train of thought. Had it really only been three years since the split? Why did it feel like it had been so much longer?
"Up until the end, yes. She was already feeling neglected, so having coursework compete for her attention didn't exactly

Nor did the fact that she'd been an entitled
b***h who'd found her way into another man's arms by the end of things, but that was neither here nor there to discuss. He remained respectful of his former partner and would continue to do so - at least in front of proper company. "I'm sure she's much happier, wherever she is and whoever she's with."
Another sip of his drink and his tongue had loosened itself, continuing on the conversation which, blessedly, moved away from the woman who'd stolen his name, his money and his heart.
"Steele was at the top of our class. He's a clever man and I'm honored to to have gone into business with him. We both were looking for a city with potential; you don't find many people willing to uproot themselves from their home and travel states over for you."
He was also rather
young and full of himself, but those were descriptions left between himself and his business associate... who was probably taking over God knows how many stupid pokemon gyms while Rob busied himself with his business dinner.
A single finger traced the rim of his glass as he glanced down at the remaining alcohol resting within. "I'm mildly surprised you didn't choose to work with someone like him. I admit, his charisma holds far more attention than my own."
