Pausing a moment, Aari couldn't help nodding. "You have a point..However, you could get yourself seriously hurt if you keep at it this way. I know that I still have much to learn in the way of fighting." Now that she was comforted knowing the man was actually a man and not truly a threat to her, she was able to give a little smile. "It is a figure of speech. Perhaps not actually to half death, but you did give me quite a scare." He thought that it would bruise? ...Aari tried to not be too proud of that knowledge. "So.. were you just waiting out here for someone to wander by? Seems a rather tedious practice for a little sparring."

Gahiji lifted a hand up to scratch it against one of his many scars before he said, "I don't really mind. I won't get stronger if I just take on weaklings." He'd rather deal with someone that was able to take him down then someone that was far too easy to beat. At the mention of her having much to learn he nodded, "Yeah... you do, but I'm sure you could get better with time and a lot of fighting... or hunting. Your choice." Giving a shake of her head at the question he said, "I was heading for the Oban border to hunt for xaraan or janarim. Both are good opponents that taste good." Even as he said it scanned the area but found himself thinking that he hadn't gotten to the border yet. They were still within the boundaries of Matori meaning seeing those animals wasn't really something that would happen easily. Not unless one of them got lost or something. He'd have to look for a native species but since they weren't near the water they were harder to find. After a moment of searching he seemed realize he wasn't alone and turned back to the girl before once more before he said in a blunt manner, "Why are you out here? You don't really looked Matorian."

Won't get stronger taking on weaklings... The statement was like a breath of fresh air to the hybrid. It was a concept she had known, but had not yet consciously registered. To have it actually put into words... So, to this man, she was a weakling. "Ah, but if you do not fight the weaklings, how will they become strong enough to make a good opponent for you?" She would have to keep both ends of the spectrum in mind. Help others get stronger, and she would get stronger, too. The Oban border? Aari's smile fell a little, thinking about where she had just been. Soon, she would have to cross it again... Pulled from her thoughts, she stared a moment while sorting her thoughts. "Oh, I doubt that I have a drop of Matorian blood in me. I am here... visiting family." Her smile softened. "Not blood family.. but still family."

Gahiji lifted a hand, scratching it against his chin, and said in voice that held no ill intent, "Not really my problem." He didn't really see why he should worry about the training that others put in. If they didn't want to train hard and work hard then why should he care? It wasn't up to him to train people, right? Stretching out all over he then gave a shrug and said, "If they want to get strong they will." At least that was the way he saw it. He starred for a moment before he nodded his head, "Ahhh, I see." It made him wonder for a moment if it was anyone he knew... but then he realized that he only knew most people in passing so even if she said names it would likely be lost on him. Walking a bit closer to the girl he found himself studying her. So she didn't have even a drop of Matorian blood in her and yet she was most certainly not a full blooded Oban. It was a curious thing but he didn't think it was really his place to butt in. His was a pretty weird family after all and something akin to hers since it was family that wasn't blood related. Something they had in common he supposed? "You didn't happen to see any giant beasts on your way here did you?" He asked, changing the subject to something that was easier to talk about then family for Gahiji at least.

If they want to get strong, they will. Well, that was one way to look at it, she supposed. Not everyone was the involved type, of course. "Just something to keep in mind~" she said lightly. The closer inspection made her cheeks flush slightly. Was he still trying to size her up for fights? ..Or trying to figure out what her bloodline was? What an interesting fellow. His own bloodline seemed to be mixed like her own, though he was certainly part Matori. Brow rising at the change in topic, she shook her head with a small sigh of relief. On to less intrusive topics. Thinking back, she nodded slowly. "Perhaps not giant, but large, yes. A group of xaraanis were running along the border, though they must be further off by now. Perhaps you will get lucky and they took a break close by." The young man was surely eager to move on to something more challenging than herself now.

Gahiji seemed to perk up a bit at the mention of a group of birds that she'd seen. He looked from side to side for a moment, as though he'd be lucky enough to spot them, before looking back at the girl, "They are definitely worth hunting. Their meat is really delicious!" He said, already considering what he'd do if he could catch a xaraan. He'd gather the feathers and keep those while cooking up the meat for his family and himself to enjoy. Giving a toothy grin he pulled his mask back down and said, "My thanks. If I'm quick I might be able to catch up with them and make one of them into lunch! As well as a nice feather decoration to boot!" He liked to make things out of his kills but a xaraan didn't have much to work with. As such he'd have to use what he could, which was mostly the feathers. It would work out if he had at least something to use to show off that he'd taken one of the beasts down. Even if it was just some sort of feather accessory or accent in the end.

To get so excited about hunting.. Aari couldn't see it. It was pretty cute though. When the mask was pulled back down, she gave a wince of a smile. That mask would probably be in her nightmares....Still, she knew the face behind it now. That should help. "Good luck!" she said with a little wave. That had certainly been an interesting encounter, and a good lesson for herself. It was time to get back to her friends though.

Gahiji turned to give the girl a glance through the holes in his mask for a long moment before he nodded, "Thanks." With that he turned on his heel and headed away from the girl. His mood was greatly improved after the tussle with the strange looking girl. It had been fun! A shame it was a short tussle but maybe she'd fight him again sometime? Lifting a hand he waved over his shoulder and called out without looking back, "Let's meet again sometime!" With that he started to rush forward, eager to try to catch up and make himself lunch out of a xaraan!
