"If you'd like." Ever rolled one shoulder in a shrug. Maybe he should have been worried about the glass and hurting himself on the bits and pieces on the floor. It wasn't like he could see what he was doing. It would necessitate touch. Still, he didn't seem concerned as he stood, hands on his hips, to wait for Zyk to call it safe. "Do you have spar jars we could prep for anything that can be salvaged?"

Dropping a towel at the edge of the spreading picks, Zyk paused to think about that. "I probably do." It was a good idea, and he'd move carefully to the bench, searching for a moment, before coming up with a small stack. He could add suspending fluids after, once he knew what, if anything, was salvageable. Setting the jars on a dry spot, Zyk sank down to his knees. The mess was a little overwhelming, and it was difficult to know where to even start. After a moment he picked up one of the dropped specimens. "Such a waste."

Ever crouched behind him -- not on his knees, not when there was broken glass around and all he had to find it by was the tinkle and clink of pieces against each other. He draped arms over his knees and tipped his head to the side as he listened to Zyk work, frowning just a little bit. "Was anything one of a kind? We'll have to go get replacements for those that weren't..."

He should have grabbed something to discard the ruined his and the larger pieces of broken glad in. He sighed, sitting back on his knees. "Rare, yes. I do not know about one of a kind." Glancing over his shoulder, he gave Ever a long look, features thoughtful. "Could you find me something to put all the rest of this in?" Now that he had started, overwhelming had downgraded slightly to manageable, yet tedeious. It was something, at least.

"Maybe we should just leave it." He settled his chin in his hand, frowning at Zyk -- his head tipped that tiniest bit to one side. If they were going to call someone to help clean up, they should just call someone to help clean up, and stop risking it themselves. Finally, he reached out to set a hand on Zyk's shoulder. "Maybe we should take a shower. You still smell like blood." He hesitated a tiny bit. "Will this keep?"

His hands stilled, a dead something in one, a piece of glass in the other. After a moment they lowered, fingers loosening to let both fall to the ground again. "Yeah." It was probably a good idea. Even with a plan in mind, it still felt like he was scrambling to piece everything back together like it had been, and it wasn't working. Wasn't going to work. Sitting back on his heels, he leaned a bit against Ever, reaching up for his hand where it lay on his shoulder. "It should, for now."

"Come on, then." He rolled up to stand easily and offered both hands to help Zyk up. If nothing else, Ever remembered where the shower was, and could get him undressed and into it -- following a moment later -- to get them cleaned up. They could worry about the mess later.
