There was something magical in knowing that when it came down to it, they would only part ways because they chose to and not because she had to wake up. It only amplified the specialness of the moment, with Hydra breathing Seal's Eye in and basking in the warmth from their hug.
Hydra found herself stepping onto the balls of her feet and stretching up to make it easier for his lips to find her forehead. When they pressed against her skin, she could barely hear what he said over the thump thump of her heart.
Sealie drew away and Hydra's chin tipped up, seafoam green eyes opening slowly. Still unable to catch her breath, she laughed in little pants, the grin on her mouth saying everything she struggled to find the breath for.
"If only one dream could be real, I'm glad it's you." Hydra admitted, shifting his hand in hers until both of their palms were face up and fingers loosely twined together. "If I had known - " she shook her head at herself. "If I had been prepared, maybe I would have been able to bring you something."
Bazzite had wanted a token of their friendship, surely Seal's Eye would treasure one as well?
"I'm having a hard time - I still feel like I'm dreaming."

The tips of his ears burned a dark red at the mention of him being her dream. It sounded as if it came straight out of a poem or romance story - he was not worthy of either, truth be told. The fact she would honor him with the mere thought was humbling - he was naught but a lowly guardian of dreams, destined to stay behind the scenes and perform his task without the awareness of those who dreamed. At the suggestion of her bringing him an item, he appeared genuinely stunned. "I don't need anything but your happiness, Lady Hydra." Her hands were raised and the knuckles of her fists were gently kissed, the Dream Guardian slowly, almost hesitantly releasing his hold of her smaller fingers. She was beautiful, without a doubt... but she'd always had been. He laughed quietly, his thoughts getting away from him as blue eyes found themselves lost among the dark shade of hers. "Perhaps there is something we can do to convince yourself that you're no longer dreaming?"

"It would make me happy, to do something for my favorite dream." Hydra protested.
Her gaze followed the movement of his hands, as they lifted her smaller ones and kissed her knuckles, which had her swallowing as her brain tried to race forward to catch up. Hydra struggled with the concept that he was so easily throwing her off kilter, where she didn't know if she was capable of thinking quickly enough to keep up with him. Everything he did sent shivers down her spine and sent her heart racing.
Akio did that too but - not like this.
This, whatever it was between them, was different and she found herself speaking without realizing as she dwelled on that tiny little thought. "Princes wake the heroine with a kiss." Her voice was more steady than she would have expected for the way nerves twisted in her stomach. Once she had said it, it was out there - she couldn't take it back.
Swallowing, Hydra tried not to think about the fact that she was doing something stupid and foolish and terribly brash. Sure, she acted without thinking from time to time but those circumstances didn't involve asking a man whom she hadn't been sure existed outside of her dream world to kiss her. Rory had a boyfriend but -
In this one moment in time, she wanted to pretend that she didn't just so she could know that it was real and she wasn't dreaming and Seal's Eye was actually before her, living and breathing and not something that would disappear when she dragged herself from sleep.
"Wake the princess Sealie."

"Wake the princess Sealie."His heart was racing as icy blue eyes stared down at the girl looking up at him with hope in her eyes. Seal's Eye knew Hydra was being playful, but still the temptation was there - how easy would it be to dip his head down and press his lips against hers, feel how soft they were, to kiss them until they were swollen and whispering his name. No.Dropping her hands, his voice took on a lighthearted edge, his expression adopting feigned offense. "You mock my position, Lady Hydra! You know I'm not worthy of such a title - I am but a lowly servant of a Prince, not the crowned monarch himself." One hand moved to press against his breast while his mind raced over his next move. "... But." As smooth and quick as lightning, white gloves moved forward as the taller man half-knelt, one arm moving to sweep itself behind her legs while the other took hold of her shoulder. It took all of a few seconds before he'd scooped her off her feet, the short woman now cradled against his chest. She was close, she was near, but it brought a sense of comfort that kept his mischievous banter going. "I'm not sure if there's a Prince that's deserving enough to even gaze across the fair Lady Hydra's lips." Eyebrows arched as he looked around suspiciously, as if already condemning any man who dared to try. He began walking forward, as if the long hair draped over his arm wasn't tickling his skin or the fact her dark, troubling aura was pressed so close against his body. She was still sweet Hydra, she was still his dear friend. Turning his head down to look at her, he pursed his lips in an attempt to remain as serious looking as possible. "But if it's a Prince that my fair Lady desires, I will find her one. Where shall we look, my little dreamer? Europe? Africa? The Moon? Shall we look to the stars to find you a Prince?"

For one tiny, blissful moment, Hydra thought that he was going to do it. She could see the way his eyes looked at her and she nearly convinced herself that he was seconds from leaning down and claiming her mouth with his own.
Hydra struggled to keep the disappointment from taking over when he didn't and playfully berated her for asking for such a thing. Suddenly there was space she didn't want between them and despite her desire to grab him and keep him where he'd been, the senshi instead drew her hands toward her chest, over the small oval that exposed the crack in her chest.
Second guessing herself, she moved to take a step back, only to squeak in surprise instead as she was swept up into the dream guardian's arms.
"Maybe you're not a prince, but you're princely enough it would count," she found herself saying stubbornly as she reached up, gloved fingers splaying across his cheek. "Doesn't need to be a prince." She distracted herself by drawing her hand back and looking away, as if there was something in the park she could focus on instead of the way he cradled her close.
What was it with men and their need to literally sweep her off her feet?
"What if I don't want a prince? There's no point in looking for one, if that's not what I want. Right?" Now she was looking at him again, brows furrowed because she couldn't calm the wild thumping of her heart.

Her eyebrows furrowed - she wasn't entirely pleased with his response and he knew it. "My Lady is the one who requested a kiss from a Prince - I am merely trying to keep her pleased," he argued, wishing he had a free hand to allow him to playfully prod the young woman. His jaw clenched tightly. Seal's Eye knew he shouldn't broach the subject, his heart conflicting him in ways he couldn't describe. Temptation proved to be too strong, however, as the young man carried them both back to the fountain, the tall man taking a seat upon the water's edge. Positioning the senshi to remain in his lap, he allowed her legs to dangle off the edge of the water, black boots getting lightly splashed by the fountain's motion. "Surely you're not asking for a kiss from an old seal, are you?" His voice grew soft as his eyes shifted over to watch the beads of water drop off the tip of her boots, "I hear they're dreadfully terrible kissers. Too many whiskers that tickle, too much of a wet nose." Shaking his head, he grinned. "What an absolutely horrible way to assure oneself that they're no longer dreaming. I think I'd much rather hope that I was dreaming, with a kisser like that."

"I cited fairy tales," she corrected, frowning when he poked and prodded at her. "I didn't ask for a kiss from a prince," she pointed out, but didn't reiterate that she had said Wake the princess Sealie. He had already displayed that he wasn't interested in doing such a thing, even if the rest of his actions were confusing her, twisting her heart because he insisted on keeping her close but -
She was just a young foolish girl, of course he didn't want to indulge childish thoughts like a kiss waking the heroine from her slumber.
Allowing herself to be carried to the fountain, she didn't protest as he settled her in his lap and she shifted, sitting up. Her elbows moved to rest atop her knees and she focused on the rippled created by her boots because she wanted to look at anything that wasn't him.
"Can we drop it?" There was more heat to her request than she wanted and she sighed, adding a more strangled, "please." Continuing to joke about what would ultimately end in no kiss at all was only making her heart ache, to her dismay.
This wasn't how she was supposed to feel when it came to meeting Seal's Eye in the waking world and it certainly wasn't something she should long for when she had someone who she looked forward to seeing everyday.
"I - " Her hands curled into fists, wrinkling her gloves. "Maybe I should go." She couldn't shake the feeling of this isn't how I wanted this to go and she thought that maybe, if she separated herself from him -
Hydra started to try and slide off his lap, regardless of the fact it was going to send her right into the fountain.

" Wait - Hydra, I'm sorry." He had upset her and she was trying to leave. It was clear from her tone and body language that she'd grown mad with him - hadn't he been playful back in response? Had he not done what she was asking of him? Throughout all of their meetings, they'd teased one another, confided in one another and remained close with one another - there hadn't been any arguments throughout her dreams. The idea of them fighting, of her hating him and losing her... Oh God, what if she stopped dreaming for him?She started sliding off and Seal's Eye stopped debating. He couldn't help himself - it was time to throw caution to the figurative wind. One hand moved to hold the back of her head while the other took hold of her squirming waist and, without giving it a second thought, he leaned forward and pressed his lips against hers.

"It's fine - I'm just - " She cut herself off, half off his lap and frustrated at her inability to convey what she wanted properly. Feeling dumb and embarrassed, but in a more humiliating way than her normal fluster, she wanted nothing more than to go home and put this mess of a meeting behind her.
Maybe next time would be better -
Wait.
Seal was grabbing at her, arm sliding around her waist and keeping her in place and his other hand was sliding through her hair and pulling her face towards his. "Seal-- " His name was half breathed, stolen by the way he stole the air from her lungs. Surprise kept her eyes open at first, the pale shade of green wide with shock but before she could let herself think too much of it, they were closing and she was pressing back.
His lips were warm and softer than she expected and she found herself leaning into him, grabbing the front of his tunic and holding onto it like it was her only lifeline. She couldn't hear anything over the rapid thump, thump of her chest as it rattled again the bone cage not fit to contain it any longer.
Hydra could hardly breath, but she also couldn't bring herself to pull away and let the moment end, not when it felt like everything a kiss ought to.
Oh no, she was in trouble.

It felt wrong and right and terrible and glorious all in the same, brief instance. What lasted only a few seconds felt like a lifetime, Seal's Eye himself lost in the moment. He felt her hands grip his front and cling to him, just as Aurora would hav------ He pulled back slowly, his eyes still closed and hiding the emotion that rested behind the tanned eyelids. The hand on her waist rose as the one behind her head loosened its grip, the panic and alarm that had coursed through him now subsiding as her anger seemed to have placated itself with the kiss. His words were raspy as he whispered softly, "Hydra, I..." Eyes flew open as he felt her slip, his grip on the woman no longer saving her from sliding down into the fountain. He let out a startled yelp as he moved to catch and pull her back, resulting in him falling off balance, instead. Tumbling after her, he landed in the obnoxiously large fountain with a splash, thoroughly soaking himself from sandy hair to sandal.

The warmth of a mouth on hers was gone and Hydra felt herself gasping for air, eyes closed as she savored the moment. The grip on his tunic loosened and she thought of using the grip to pull him back down but could barely think much let alone act.
She was definitely not dreaming.
Hearing how he said her name had her opening her eyes, blearily blinking with her brows knitting downward. The girl didn't know for sure, but the way he spoke her name had her worried.
Had he only kissed her to placate her and keep her from leaving --
The thought was interrupted with the way she started to slip and he scrambled to grab her and keep her from falling. It failed, spectacularly, with both of them landing in the fountain and water splashing up each way and that. Seal's Eye landed near, almost atop her and the senshi found herself laughing, her heart still considerably light from the way the kiss made her skin glow. Everything but her face was soaked and she would have felt chilled to the bone if she didn't feel so warm already.
"Oh, goodness," she breathed between her laughter. Reaching for his face, she smoothed wet hair out of it. "This is definitely not a dream," she said, bright grin on her lips as she looked at him fondly.

The water was chilly, unexpectedly so - then again, when one wasn't expecting to fall in the water, it is always unexpectedly chilly - and the young man found himself gasping as he pulled himself up. The water had drenched his clothing, weighing him downward as his hair looked a royal mess (at least, it was easy to presume such). Blonde hair clung to his cheek and neck while cold cotton clothing clung to him like a second skin. She was giggling, the sound beautiful and light as the two magical beings gathered their bearings after finding themselves taking an impromptu swim in the central park's fountain. He couldn't help but grin, especially as he heard her laughter - it kept the embarrassment from his cheeks and happiness in his heart. Small hands moved out to push aside some of the long hair that was pestering him - goodness knows how her hair length must feel submerged, when his was only shoulder length and weighed him down! - and he watched her with fondness before moving to pull himself up slowly. "I would dare hope that I'd be a bit more... what's the word, suave? In a dream. Gracious." He tugged on the tunic, which still hopelessly clung to his frame and left a sudden chill running through him with the addition of the breeze in the park. One hand extended itself out in her direction as he grinned at her, unable to help himself. "Though I did warn you that they were rather wet kisses, after all."

Her hair was heavy, weighted down by the water enough that she didn't try to climb to her feet. Instead, she resigned herself to sitting in the fountain, water splashing over her lap, as she looked at him. "Well, I'm glad you're not. Suave, that is." Because if things had continued to be so wonderful following the kiss without any mishaps, she wouldn't be able to believe that it was real.
"Makes everything more...real."
Allowing herself to take his hand, she climbed back to her feet, head tipped back because of the weight of her hair, long strands swirling in the water beneath them. While her heart had calmed, it began to race again when she stepped forward, reaching to caress his cheek again. Her own outfit was already relatively formfitting, but her skirt stuck to her thighs as she encroached on his space.
Due to how much taller he was than she, her gaze fell on his mouth before she forced herself to look up, brow furrowed. "I never said wet kisses weren't okay." Something nagged her at the back of her thoughts, but she wanted to focus on the moment, afraid that she would wake up and find that she'd imagined it all.

"So you didn't," He conceded softly, amused at her congeniality over the fact he'd been partially responsible - alright, mostly responsible - for the both of them ending up in the fountain. "It was definitely a real moment, I agree." He didn't touch on it further, but he also wasn't making the effort to actually remove his wet self, or hers, from the babbling fountain that continued to flow water directly next to them. Instead, the hand that held hers squeezed it gently and he offered her a wry grin. "I happen to know the perfect place to dry off at, though." His chin lifted up and his free hand moved up to adjust his Eyepiece absentmindedly. Everything would dry in due time... but perhaps there was something else he'd been eager to introduce her to... Seal's Eye didn't give Hydra a choice. Instead, the grip around her hand tightened and the two blinked out of existence at the park. Moments later, they stood on warm sand, both individuals sinking gently into the golden grains beneath their shoes. Seal's Eye was quick to abandon his, letting go of her hand to slip off his shoes, just as he had in her dream only hours earlier. He gave her time to adjust to the teleportation (being the generous host that he was) but his introduction appeared to excitedly roll off his tongue when he finally spoke, his voice carrying over the soft roll of foam breaking across where the land met water. "Lady Hydra... I would like you to meet my home." His smile grew the widest it had ever been. "Elysion."

"What are you - " Hydra's sentence went unfinished because the scenery had changed and she swayed, automatically reaching for the man no longer by her side to steady herself. Her hand only met air and she stumbled forward, hair dragging across the sand. "Wait- where - how..." Jade eyes were in awe as she looked around them, taking in every little piece of sand and scenery the place had to offer.
Feeling breathless once again, she turned to look at her magical companion. "Sealie - " she halted, unsure of how to express her appreciation properly.
So much was happening in one night and she felt her heart might burst. They'd met in person, he had kissed her, and now - he was showing her his home.
Suddenly, she didn't know how it was possible that she wasn't dreaming. "Oh, it's beautiful," she mumbled, stepping towards him despite the way the sand clung to her boots and her heels dragged her deeper into it's grains. Seal's Eye looked so happy that he was sharing this with her.
"I - I don't know what to say." Did she understand what this meant to him? What did it say about how he cared about her?
She couldn't decipher it.
