Vanna realized he had a problem. He needed to seriously work in resisting Mai's puppy dog eyes. Between the months he had to take off due to the last time Mai had dragged him somewhere. So instead of being in his office working on less than legal things, he was on a horseless carriage full of strangers going far away from his base of operations to chaperone academy students to the swirling sands.
Okay so maybe ever since getting released from the hospital, he had been wound up tighter than a knot, but considering what had happened could anyone blame him. Well apparently his sister could. She had roped in his second in command and the two of them had forged his signature and so here he was.
Still it wasn't polite to take out his aggression on the kids he was supposed to be chaperoning. He would just have to suck it up, and maybe they were right. Maybe he did need to unwind and just go on an adventure. He always had a fascination with history after all. Yami would handle the boys back home and Vanna could try to move past the haunted hallows incident.
With that in mind, he put an headphone but into his ear closest to the window and settled back in a seat preparing for what ever was going to happen this time.

Nadinia waited patiently to stow her rolling suitcase. It was the same one that had accompanied her to the Forbidden Forest. The corners of her mouth only turned down slightly now at remembering that ... experience. It felt like the best part of a life time ago, now. She had just come Below then. ... Now, perhaps, she was almost used to it. If such a thing was possible. Finally at the head of the line, Nadi hefted her bag into the compartment, and then clambered onto the horseless carriage.
It seemed even bigger than the one that had carted her to the Forest. It also seemed nicer. Surely that was a good sign. After all, this trip didn't exactly seem tinged with danger. Far more Nadinia's speed. She carefully made her way down the aisles, trying to avoid other students darting here and there, and managed to find an empty pair of seats. She slid into the one by the window, and pulled her cross body bag off, stowing it under the seat in front of her.
She settled in to make herself comfortable, wondering if someone would plunk themselves down next to her.

Sniffing the offering warily, Saiya daintily accepted it between their teeth and stepped out of the way just enough for the azure Grimm to squeeze through. They were not going to leave their post by Anu's side, even if they were bribed with a hundred cookies.
"Thanks, but I'll pass." Anu was engrossed in her book, forgetting (for the moment) that she was supposed to be a chaperone and keep an eye on the younger students. It wasn't uncommon for her to retreat into a book when she was out of her element, and a field trip with yeegads how many unfamiliar faces all crowded together in a confined space for how long?! Definitely way out of her comfort zone.

Yup, that was gonna be a tight squeeze. Maybe a slimmer Nightmare could be totally comfortable in that space, but Suhail's extra plushness meant that he felt a little squished. At least he wasn't stuck standing, though. "Thank you for letting me sit here," he said to both Saiya and Anukhet. He leaned to the side to look at the kids coming in, making sure no one seemed to be having trouble finding a seat. Satisfied with what he saw, he resumed his normal positioning and looked at Anukhet. "What are you reading?" He had a feeling that he was going to end up being a bit of a bother, but he was still curious about the other Grimm.
Aurora had decided to go on this field trip as a chaperone, even though she didn't have any kids of her own yet. She had graduated from the academy and two of the universities. So she felt like it was reasonable to give back to the school when she could. She took her bag and stowed it away in the compartment with everyone else's things then she boarded the bus and went to find a seat. Aurora took an empty seat and got out her notebook to start making notes about this trip so she could write a book about it. She could only hope that this trip didn't end with her getting a broken ankle and having rocks and sticks thrown at her by freshlings. Then again that eventually ended well and was exciting, at the moment. She began writing notes about the carriage and the other chaperones and students that were arriving for the trip.

"A history book my mum got for me." Anu replied, glancing up from the pages briefly to look around before burying her nose in it once more. She'd noticed the seats were starting to fill up nicely, even though it was likely that one or more students would be sitting on their own. Or it would be best if they did, given their wingspan... How could something so spacious on the inside overlook the need for wing space too..? She wondered with a sigh.
Saiya squeezed between Anu's feet and the seat in front of them, sitting on the appendages in question and staring up at Su. As if daring him to make one "wrong" move. Chaperoning the chaperone, yup. That's what they were doing... in Anu's eyes, anyway. "Saiyaaaaaaaa... You're hurting my toes..." Anu muttered. "Budge up, will you?!"

Enomu stowed his luggage, the all of one suitcase he had proudly bought for himself, and found himself a seat. He pressed himself against the side of the bus and curled his tail close, watching the other students and chauffeurs. He had expected the trip to consist entirely of juniors and seniors, but to his surprise he also saw some freshlings. What really surprised him though was the lack of fellow bakenekos. Not that he was going on this trip for it's historical significance or anything like that, but it still surprised him.
His counselor had thought it would be a good idea for him to go back to his home area without actually going home. That it might help him somehow, and in the end he'd agreed and even if the bus had been full of bakenekos, social butterfly he was not. At least there were some naga. That made sense, but they were still vastly outnumbered by other kinds of people. It didn't matter. He wasn't there to make friends, even though he'd promised himself he'd try to be nice if anyone talked to him.

Coco had been through a great deal during the infected attack, but somehow she still held on to her sweet gentle heart. She hadn't hurt anyone too badly and she recovered from her infection at the hospital. They had been be able to help her, but not as much as Coco had hope. Coco didn't know how to tell Calypso that she had this thing, that she wasn't sure she could ever share with Calie. Coco had decided to go on this trip to get away, she packed everything she needed and boarded the carriage. Coco spotted Vanna on the bus and shyly waved. She took an empty seat, with her camera she wanted to take lots of pictures on this trip. Coco wore a long sleeve shirt to hide the mark on her arm, she didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable about her.
Aedus had gone through a lot during the infected attack, he had lost one of his eyes and was scared up and down his body, but somehow he was better for it. This trip was his everything, besides Nimah, seriously. For an elf like Aedus familiars were his favorite thing and a chance to see familiars that weren't found anywhere else. That was a chance Aedus couldn't pass up. He was so excited he barely could contain himself. Not much go Aedus excited but this trip had him thrilled. He put his bags away and went to find a seat on the bus. He wore a eye patch over the place where his eye once was and his scars he did nothing to hide. Aedus was proud that he had stood for his school, he felt no shame about that. He was glad in a way he had learned that hybrids and nightmares alike were good beings.

Bag clutched tightly to his side and ear buds in, Horus climbed aboard the horseless carriage and took a seat. He wasn't really sure why he had decided to go on this venture. Perhaps it was the chance for something new and a chance to learn about history. Yeah he supposed he was more of the psychology or business aspect of eldritch but even he enjoyed learning about a good ruin.
It would also hopefully get him out of this funk. He had been doing better around Samara, but he needed to get back into his own flow instead of the flow he used when he had to spend large amounts of time around his parents or even worse isis. He thought everything was back on track but then isis had mentioned she was thinking of going down to below as well and Horus just kind of lost it.
Maybe it was also a chance to try to meet new friends. Hell he wasn't even sure any more.
If it had been up to Roshan, they would not be going on this trip. The idea of being in the desert did not sound appealing at all. However, their mother had suggested it would be yet another great opportunity to make friends. So it was that the day before the trip to the Swirling Storms Desert, Roshan was in their room packing only what was needed.
The morning of the trip, Roshan hugged their mom goodbye, promised to call nightly, and then dragged their main bag to the carriage. They then walked on to the vehicle to find a spot. The small hybrid walked past groups and singles though none seemed to catch Roshan's eye. Then they spotted a fellow Geist-hybrid. Something about them made Roshan decide this is where they would sit.
"Do you mind if I sit here?" Roshan asked in their clearest voice. They clutched their personal bag tightly to their chest while their fate was decided by this stranger.
Bag contains: a phone, a bit of money, two water salves (hopefully enough for this leg of the trip), a math game book, coloring books, and crayons

For Shion~ (You might have been alerted to this quote again cause I had to edit the freaking format. Sorry~)

- - - - What. What. WHAT. WHAT?!
Not only had Shion nearly jumped out of his skin at the voice so close, no matter how loud or soft, but he also lost control of his wings. They flared out, and several feathers flew here, there, and probably landed somewhere near the front of the bus.
Staring at the freshling like he was a spooky shadow, It took all of ten seconds for Shion to finally calm down, smooth out his feathers, run a hand through his hair. Taking a deep breath, Shion finally gave a small, but so very sincere smile.
"I d-don't mind a-at all." He could hardly believe it, and he sincerely hoped that he wouldn't do anything to scare the freshling off. Granted, he was barely more than one himself, but still.
Contessa was very excited. today was the day of the field trip. "Time to blow this popsicle stand" She skipped up to the bus that was already quickly filling with all sorts of people. She looked around trying to find a seat. Surely her best friend and partner in crime was somewhere around here. They had both swore to be good the last few weeks to come there is no way he wasn't here. That was when she spotted him, "AJ! I knew you would be here. What kinds of trouble are we going to get in! Who did you snag a seat by?"
She looked down at his familiar "Hey there buddy, you ready for a big adventure." She didn't have a familiar of her own to bring on the journey. She supposed she'd have to chill with AJ and his. "This is gonna be awesome! She looked around at all the faces. So much for her to learn. So much for her to videotape.

Liath and L had a sleepover the night before so they were both ready for the day. They strapped their backpacks on their backs and headed for the bus. Liath guided L by his elbow to the door where L used his cane to help maneuver the steps. It didn't look like there were any pairs of seats next to each other. "Welp since it looks like there aren't any seats for us to sit next to each other we will just have to find some babes to sit by." Liath said before scanning the bus for an empty seat next to a viable candidate. "Babe spotted. Moving in." L followed closely behind Liath tapping his cane every few feet to avoid stepping on anything.
Approaching they fey Liath smiled and waved. There was an empty seat across the aisle for L to sit in. "Hi, I'm Liath, this is my freind L. He's blind, and he can't talk but he can hear like super good." L smiled and gave a small wave to this sitting in the seat across the way and turning toward the two. "May I have the pleasure of knowing your name, beautiful?" Liath was trying to turn on the charm. L had been coaching him to get over his recent heartbreak and Liath was what you could say on a war path.

- - - - Whoa, he almost dozed off already. Already sick of the older students around, his ears perked when a familiar voice reached them. His doll bestie was here! They'd done a great job of acting good in the past weeks, of course she had made it on.
"'Tessa!" He yelped, picking Bravo up off of the seat for her to sit next to him. Alright, so she didn't count as someone he didn't want to sit next to him. Partners in crime were different than some probably needy and gossipy other nightmare, right? "It's just me and Bravo, I guess he warmed the seat for you!"
The fluffy Vespercat only purred as AJ held him, eyes trained on the doll, waiting for her to sit down.
"Ugh, better you than one of...these." He waved a hand towards the students still piling in. "And can you believe that one's supposed to be a chaperone?" He motioned towards the rather loud Baphomet hybrid at the front of the bus. "All I know is, we're going to make this freaking memorable!"
