Rory kept the flowers held close to her chest, inhaling their soft scent as he gathered her closer to him. "Okay." Agreeing in that quiet voice of hers. "I'm willing to try." The thought of learning another language, even just a few phrases, was a little nerve wrecking but, Rory figured it wouldn't hurt.
Really, it wouldn't do her any good to only speak English; not if she wanted to travel and help more people. This would be a small step, but a step nonetheless.
Thinking about it all now threatened to be overwhelming not matter which incident she thought of. Him meeting her father, who was predisposed to dislike him after last weekend, or meeting any of the people who were fond of her...or meeting his parents made anxiety about it all flare and she did her best to focus on anything but.
"Unless you have your heart set on something," she amended quickly, not wanting him to feel limited by her dietary choices. Watching him toy with the strap of her back, Rory automatically reached for it. "Here, I can take that back. Really, you don't need to hold it." In fact, she felt guilty that she'd allowed him to carry it at all. It wasn't obscenely heavy but was surely straining him.
"I could go for a sundae." Ice cream was an excellent dessert, relatively cheap depending on where you went and something she didn't get often. "But I'm going to insist on walnuts, unless you're allergic, then I can go without."

His eyebrows rose and he titled away when she reached out to grab the bag away from him. The large duffel made a swish sound against the side of his slacks as it gentle rustled. " Excuse you, madame?" Chin tilting upwards, he forced out an audible snort. It was clearly a struggle for him to suppress the grin he was holding in, the edges of the smile creeping up the sides of his face. "You're not allowed to take away my boyfriend duties. All bags and heavy objects are mine to carry. It's my right." There wasn't time to argue his point further, the large bus rolling slowly up to the stop until it settled on its brakes. A hiss slipped out from the exhaust as the doors opened, the others piling in one at a time while the young couple waited their turn to board. He allowed her to ascend the steps first, reaching over to pay both of their fares before she could protest. Thankfully, there was an empty pair of seats available just for them (or so he'd liked to have thought) and Akio found himself quickly sliding into the booth next to her, the duffel bag resting in his lap and successfully blocking her from an easy exit without his assistance. "I can deal with walnuts... if you can deal with whipped cream." He felt his compromise was sensible and fair, the young man inching down until his knees touched the back of the chair in front of him and his shoulder was aligned with hers. He decided to push his luck further. "And chocolate. I require chocolate."

As she had suspected, Akio wouldn't allow her to take her bag back from him and she bumped her shoulder against his ribs, rolling her eyes for effect. "Fine, if you want to conform to societal norms, I won't stop you...about this." Rory found that it was endearing that he was insistent on caring for her 'heavy' items. The girl looked as though she was hesitating before she quickly pecked him on the cheek before being ushered onto the bus.
Despite her attempt to pay for the bus fare, her boyfriend was quicker and she made it a point to pout at him when she slid into the seat.
"I suppose I could make an exception for whipped cream." Jade eyes flicked to the way he blocked her from slipping out and she shook her head playfully, reaching for one of his hands to lace her fingers with his. "Lucky for you, I like chocolate, but are we talking about a topping or ice cream flavor? Because no sundae is complete without vanilla."
As her boyfriend sunk lower in his seat, Rory snuggled into him, pressing her cheek against the curve of his shoulder. "Also, you're ridiculous, you know that?"

"What about.... both?" He tilted his head to the side, allowing her better snuggling access without thumping her head against his newly stolen graduation cap. As soon as her head found its home on his shoulder, though, he moved his own back to properly rest atop her soft, turquoise hair. "Chocolate ice cream with chocolate topping could be overkilling the chocolate - strawberry or vanilla ice cream would work best with chocolate topping. Although... important question: rainbow sprinkles or chocolate sprinkles?" Their joined hands rose, Akio taking a moment to savor the sight and feel of his tanned fingers intertwined with the pale, slender ones of his girlfriend. Without thinking, he brought the pair towards his face, kissing the middle knuckle before allowing them to fall back down between their laps. Her comment brought a lazy grin up to his face, eyes closing for a moment as he inhaled, embracing the soft scent of her that surrounded them. "I may be ridiculous, but what does that make the woman who agreed to be with me?"

"We're not doing both. So, vanilla." She said decisively, because as much as she liked strawberries, she didn't enjoy strawberry ice cream. Rory liked sweets enough but chocolate on chocolate was too rich for her tastes. "Do we really need sprinkles if we've got chocolate sauce and whipped cream?" She asked, but it was obvious from her tone that she would cave if he so much as said please.
Akio certainly knew how to make her heart skip beats when he kissed her knuckle and grinned lazily up at her.
Looking at him and seeing how he looked at her, how he breathed her in, left her breathless and awed. "Hush," she managed to breathe out, lifting her head off his shoulder so she could close the spaces between their mouths. "Clearly, someone who enjoys it, dummy." She breathed before she stole a kiss. When she pulled away and sunk back into the bus bench, she sighed happily, returning her head to it's previous spot.
"We're getting off at the next stop, the corner store will have everything we need." She instructed, turning her head to watch the buildings pass by.
Rory hadn't expected to do anything interesting for her graduation, but now that Akio was with her, her boyfriend, she couldn't help how elated she was at the prospect of a simple, easy date and celebration.
