"Shh," she murmured, allowing him to cling to her as he needed. "I know Themi," Denebola assured him, making sure a kind smile was on her lips when he looked up at her. "I'm a big girl, I'll be okay. We will be okay, we've got each other, right?"

Following him closely, the woman did her best to keep from letting anything about the place spook her. Clearly her companion was worried, frightened maybe, but was trying to put on a brave face for her. It both made her heart warm and ache simultaneously. She tried to focus on the path up ahead, instead of the way the lights guided them eerily and the ground beneath her feet was squishier than she would have liked.

Themisto was quite different from Denebola, but so was Altais.

"Maybe it'll be less gloomy the more you visit it." She was trying, almost desperately to look for the silver lining. She didn't want her friend to miss out because the first experience had been less than ideal. Mismatched eyes watched the lantern curiously, wetting her lips when she pressed them into a firm line together. "Often the past is meant to guide us, so maybe this is the first step?"

She didn't know if she was even making any sense, the experience too different from her own for her to draw any sort of similarities meant to comfort. "Hey, Themi, it's okay." As if to reassure him, she squeezed his hand. "Keep going."

I hope this is okay. If not, please let me know and I'll edit!

Themisto let go of a deep sigh he'd been holding, for fear of disappointing Denebola. "Yeah, I know. You're kickass Pern. You beat bitches and take names. It's what you do. It's just... I dunno."

The boy let the subject drop, unable to effectively chew through the churning emotions swirling through him. The last thing he wanted to do was disappoint his mentor, holding fear that she might abandon him one day. It wasn't something most men openly worried about, and even less often, discussed. Sure, he felt safe enough with Fiona to cry in front of her, but here in the magical expanse of space, fear and weakness were more dangerous than touching.

The paper-walled hallway was eerie at best, somewhat claustrophobic with its lack of decor and narrow style. Their shoes were loud against wooden floorboards despite Themisto's best efforts to be quiet. Who knew what ghostly things lurked just around the corner, waiting for them?

Themisto drew a breath, feeling more than seeing the first room on their left. There was a distinct opening in the paper hallway, wide and open like the living room back home. Silence reigned as far as Themisto could tell. The extreme sense of deja vu was causing his heart to constrict and palms to sweat in anxiety and confusion. Why would he know this place? He'd never been here before.

....ah... what... say you? Does this look right? Hahaha...

A voice wafted from somewhere deep within the room, and Themisto's arm immediately shot out to protect Denebola from whoever was inside. He'd stopped just before turning the corner, hoping to be the first to be attacked by anything waiting inside.

Shhht.... shhhhhhht.... shhhht....

Brows furrowed in fear and worry. Fingers curled into a fist and the super senshi decided then was the time to confront whoever this person was, and find out their intentions. If they'd invaded the moon, they needed a serious a**-beating. Whirling around the corner, lantern at the ready to act as a bludgeon. The sight that greeted him caused Themisto to take a few steps back in confusion.

Before him stood a man, burly of build and deeply dark of skin. His very short and dark hair ended just before the nap of his neck, scruffy beard and mustache decorating a handsome and chiseled face. He stood a good four to five inches taller than Themisto himself, but... wore the same senshi regalia.

"Who the hell are you??" cried the younger boy, eyes wild in shock. "Why you wearin' my outfit, huh?! Were you the one comin' after us?!"

Whoever the man was speaking to, they were somewhere else in the room. It was almost as if Themisto never said anything at all, never appeared in the doorway, never shouted. Instead, the man turned back around after a hearty, deep chuckle, and continued to... draw? He had something in his hand, using it to scrawl blackened lines on the wall he was facing. The man was bemused by something, chuckling as he scrawled a very basic form... of a dragonfly.

Part of her wanted to stop them both, so that they could talk it out until Themisto knew that it didn't matter to her, that he was doing fine and things would work out. The other part of her was struggling to decide if it was something worth pushing or not, her dear friend was struggling to try and prove something to her and she wanted to let him do what he thought he needed to do. While she wanted to reassure him, she also wanted to encourage him and not stifle him and she didn't know what each decision would result in.

In the end, she said nothing and just allowed her companion to lead her forward, the fingers of her unoccupied hand tapping against her thigh as they continued along the path his wonder revealed to them.

The voice left a chill to run down her spine but this time, Denebola didn't tense. Rather, she actively made sure she stayed as relaxed as she could be for Themisto's benefit. While her companion seemed unnerved at the ghost, the woman was intrigued, curious about this manifestation that presented itself and more importantly, what it appeared to be doing.

Clearly, the dragonfly was meant for her, that she knew without a doubt and she carefully extracted her hand, pressing a palm against Themisto's chest in an attempt to keep him in place as she stepped around him and closer. She didn't know if the ghost man could hear here, because he didn't respond to Themi, but she spoke to him, voice clear and unwavering.

"Do you know who I am?"

Sorry about the wait! We can consider this a "fin" right now if you like!

Shht.... shhht...

....decent enough, what say you? I should like to think...

A hearty laugh, deep and baritone, came from the specter while a higher-pitched laugh answered his from somewhere unknown. Within a blink, the spirit was gone, and Themisto was left with more questions than answers. Though... a distinctive familiarity gripped him, the super senshi thinking himself not so attached to his homeworld as Denebola was. He looked up to her, fascinated in the way that she described a past where she both had lived and didn't.

Themisto let go of the breath he didn't realize he was holding, fingers relaxing from the fist he'd saved in case of emergencies. Blinking, he looked down to the worn floorboards and then back up at Denebola.

"...have we... done this before, Pern?" His voice was quiet, softer than its usual jovial tone. Confusion was plain and he made no attempt to hide it. "It's... really spooky. ...uh... anyway, I think I've seen enough for one day. Next time, I'll bring my Ghostbustin' gear or somethin'."

A chuckle escaped him and his shoulders rolled with the movement. The boy couldn't shake the sense of deja vu, but couldn't place anything concretely. He'd had no recollection of these halls, of this building or the village. The whole thing thoroughly creeped him out, and Themisto had to work diligently not to shiver in front of his mentor. He turned to lead her back out of the building and pulled out his cellphone.

"...friggin' weird, man. Dude's got my duds and he's rockin' 'em better than me... we'll see how long that lasts."

In truth, Denebola's space adventures were mostly isolated to her own planet and some of the visits had been horrifying, but the terror factor came from the backlash of her memories not in the actual set up of her world. There had been a trip to Altais, where she had seen a mark of her other life buried in the ever shifting sand in the form of a ship mast that bore her symbol upon it and now - now there was a mark of her on Themisto's planet too and that created a swirling abyss of emotion and confusion she couldn't properly wade through.

So, she let herself cling to the boy who had brought her here, because it helped keep her stable and present.

"I don't...know." She admitted, despite loathing to. "We must have." There was no other explanation for it, but it left her wondering if she left imprints elsewhere and if her own world had record-keeping that she could locate and delve into.

Following Themisto back out was easy, with Denebola clearly distracted, trying to place that face among those that she had seen in her own flashbacks. When she couldn't, she was left frustrated, struggling to keep the feeling tamped down. "It's...different, Themi, but not bad." She tried to reassure him, even if something had been shaken within her. "And you wear it just as well as he did," she assured, offering him the best smile she could muster.

"Come on, let's go home. We can get something to eat and shake off the weirdness of it all okay? I'll...I can see if I can find anything, on Denebola, about...him later."
