Sleet Tempest Snape
Delphi had helped scrape the Squire off the ground. Sutai sat up, rubbing her sore nose - she'd fallen flat on her face. Tears had welled up in her eyes but above all else, the Squire was thankful both for her lovely friends, and for the fact that she hadn't broken her nose with the fall. With a huff, smoothing out her tutu, Sutai stood up and clutched the lovely blanket Alphubel was smart enough to bring on their journey.
She sniffed, both out of sadness and cold, runny sinuses. "Did... did the wind stop?" she asked, curiously looking out behind both Delphi and Alphubel.
Indeed, the roaring, piercing wind that seemed hellbent on pushing the trio off the mountain had completely ceased. The world outside this small cave was clear and calm. No snow was blowing furiously, seeking to chill the three knights straight to their very bones. It was as though the mountain was always calm and serene as it was now.
Sutai seemed utterly confused.
"This mountain is craaaazy!" she exclaimed in a huff. Her tutu had bounced with the motion and she spun on her heels. "I think I'm supposed to have a signet ring or something... Miss Delphi? Mister Alphubel? How did you find your rings? Mister Sessrumnir said it was a very basic part of being a knight and I don't have one... do you think it might be here somewhere?"
Inside the cavern seemed to be a large series of rooms. Was it a house? A manor? Sutai wasn't sure, but she couldn't shake the feeling of familiarity. She couldn't recall ever having been to a place such as this, but the writing on the walls in a glowing, snow-blue ink, looked similar to the writing at Delphi's Wonder. The first room seemed to be a foyer of sorts, connected to a long hallways that ended in a larger room with a...
"A FIREPLACE!" cried the Squire. Indeed, a real working fireplace seemed to be burning at one end of the room. Sutai didn't stop to ponder how this would even be possible, given how old the mountain was and how the entire cavern was sealed off before they arrived. Carved directly into the stone, a crude fireplace blazed heat and light into the room. It was strange, however, in that the fire was an icy blue color, and not orange like a traditional fire. Before the fireplace was a plush rug of intricate design, emblazoned with an elephant-headed humanoid. Sutai didn't seem to notice it, warming her hands and face with a joyous smile.
Something glinted in the light of the fire, catching one golden eye. Snatching it up, Sutai turned the tiny thing over and over in her hands. "Umm... this is a ring!"
