Before the lights had flickered and then gone out Kathryn had the strangest feeling that she recognized at least one other face in her group. Now that the lights were not at full power anymore the young woman wasn't entirely sure. Gripping tightly to the shaft of the IV pole that would serve as a weapon Kathryn inched away from the group in response to the sound that had been heard. She had spotted another person inching down the hallway and was surprised that indeed she did recognize the stranger. "Chailee, wait up. I'll come with you."
It would have been prudent to check on the nurse but Kathryn wasn't sure if having people go off alone would be a good idea. As Kathryn rushed forward to catch up to Chailee she let herself be on guard. Hopefully they weren't walking into a trap. As she caught up into the other girl Kat hissed out softly,"I remember you from the egg hunt. I don't think I introduced myself then though. I'm Kathryn."
Giulia was going on an adventure! She had been assigned a group away from Jada, and that was going to be okay, because everything was going to be shiny and awesome, and probably boring but still awesome because this was a hospital and hospitals were great!
When the bad things started happening, though, and people started getting hurt and nervous, Giulia's bright smile slowly began to vanish, replaced with concern. Horpitals were supposed to help people, not hurt them. This wasn't something like- like finding out romance was weird, or that unicorns weren't real.
The nurse seemed very upset, and Giulia rushed to her side, fretting around her nervously while grown ups did the same.
Well, he seems a bit more reliable than she was, at least. Cerissé knew that every time she'd been in a fight she'd been definitely shown what's for...so staying close was definitely the better option. She offered Tristan a somewhat awkward smile. "I'll do that, thanks." Though if anything sturdy came at them, she'd be the one in the awkward situation.
Because would she be alright with letting him get eaten? Somehow, that seemed mean, and there were bound to be Youma if the General was around. Maybe it was hypocritical to worry about people when she also preyed upon people.
A noise clattered and a few people started off towards it. Cerissé, frankly, wanted to stay put. No noises, thank you very much. Still, it seemed like the frailest looking member of the tour group - the nurse - was looking particularly pale.
"I'm going to see if she's alright," Cerissé said, holding the bedpan up defensively and seeming to wait to see if Tristan would stay with her.
The crying child was something that caught his attention, but his companion was running off to check on the nurse and he was torn. Did he go check on the child or did he stick with his self chosen 'buddy'?
In the end, Tristan decided to check on the woman who looked just as terrified as the rest of them. "Yeah, okay," he agreed, nodding as he held his bedpan like a shield, even if it was disgusting object to be using.
When a voice sounded from lower to the ground--after the horrible sound of metal dragging against the floor--Lilith was more than a bit surprised, though found herself grateful to the guardian. Crouching down, she picked up the broken IV pole, her other hand finding the cat's head and giving a gentle scratch behind her ear. Though, she frowned as she encounter an earring. Her fingers moved over it gently and her brow creased further. Was that... what she thought it was..?
"Thank you," she said simply, smile on her face as she pushed the questions away for now. When she heard a child begin to cry, she began to use the pole like a cane, making her way towards the room with a frown. "Cassie, I'll be right back. Will you come with me?" She directed that to the guardian, aware that her cousin was now heading to assist the nurse.

This whole day was just... getting weirder and weirder. When the nurse began to go pale and fiddle with her rosary, Cassie winced, feeling horrible for the poor woman. She was too sweet to get caught up in this mess. Before she could stop Lilith about chasing after weird sounds--um, no--her cousin and the guardian were already moving off, much to Cassie's distress. But she still tried to move over to help Nurse Harmony, at least to make sure the poor woman wasn't about to go into a panic attack or something.
Réalta purred at the contact, and felt at ease now that she was with the two young women. Neither were freaking out about her being able to speak--a mistake on her part for even doing so without checking to see how they'd respond, she'd admit--but she still kept her voice low. When the sound of a crying child reached her ears though, she quickly jumped to the chance to assist the blind woman, nervous herself about the source of the sound. Still, she kept herself pressed to the girl's leg, her larger size enabling her to act as a makeshift guide for the time being, turning in a way to help direct her.

RESULTS:
Option One:
You immediately find yourself concerned over the crying down the hall. You make your way to investigate, slowly opening the door to the empty patient's room so to not scare the child within.
In the middle of the floor, you can see a figure slumped in a pile, long hair covering their face as they sobbed. The only light is coming from the emergency lights in the hallway behind you, but it gives you enough to see the child's figure.
You ask her if she's okay and immediately regret the decision. Her head jerks up and all you see are red eyes, her mouth distorting into a horrific expression. It takes all of seconds before she claws her way onto her feet, arms outstretched as she shrieks - coming straight for you.
You stumble backwards a step or two but the moment her hands reach out to touch you, the girl disappears completely, leaving you alone in the dark doorway, the room now completely silent.
No one else seems to know what exactly happened and the others still standing at the desk look as though they hadn't just heard the blood curdling wail.
Could your mind be playing tricks on you?
Option Two:
You do nothing but stand there, knowing that ain't nobody got time for this nonsense. You are not helpful but you are also playing it relatively safe. Good job....I guess? Do you really want a boring CYOA game?
Option Three:
You check on Nurse Harmony to ensure she's not about to fall out in the middle of the hallway. She seems to snap out of her panicked state, at least long enough to pat your shoulder and thank you for your concern. Aren't you sweet!
Once everyone is collected together, Nurse Harmony clutches her clipboard tightly and nods her head confidently (probably thanks to some concern expressed from several of the tourists). "Alright, let's get out of here."
She takes you down the hallway and back out of the unit, but it appears the elevators are out of order due to the power outage. There is a sign leading to a stairwell, but there is also a large window against one of the walls, where the dying light of the afternoon continues to pour in from outside.

Richard Jones ~ Broken Wheelchair Fragment ~ Option stairs
When they heard the sound of possibly crying, Richard looked at the people who went to investigate to the people who went to go and comfort the nurse and decided to stay put for now. No need to over crowd the nurse who was already overwhelmed and since this was a Negaverse operation, he wasn't sure he wanted to interfere it the sound turned out to be a trap. When they continued on down the hall he stuck close to Kit until they got to the elevator and the stairs. "Let's try the stairs, I'm sure the window isn't a good idea." He offered then moved to the stairs.
Giulia was going to trust adults to know what was the best. Nurse Harmony was okay, and she knew this place better than anyone in the tour group. It was good that the nurse was here- if it had been an 'open' tour, then they might all be lost!
Adults were going for the stairs, and some for the window; Giulia was going to get a good view of what was happening outside. Maybe someone had sent off for help? Maybe magical people were already mobilizing to save the people trapped inside who were stuck?
Chailee Sterling - Investigate the window. (Scalpel) Chailee smiled at Kathryn when she joined her in looking into the child crying. “I am Chailee” She said after Kathryn offered her name. “I think we were so absorbed in finding eggs we forgot to share names. Funny how we end up here together. I hope we can get out of here safely.”
As they neared the room, Chailee opened the door and stepped inside. There she found the girl sitting on the floor. “Hey. Are you alright?” She questioned as she walked up to her and instantly regretted her decision. Immediately she scrambled backwards at the red eyes, her only thought was that htis had to be some sort of youma, but as soon as it lunged at her, Chailee flinched only to find that the girl disappeared like some sort of spirit.
She looked around frantically but could not find it. “What was that…” She said softly. Now unsure if that was a youma or something like it. Last she knew they couldn’t just vanish into thin air.
“Are you alright?” She questioned turning to look at Kathryn. “I think we should get back to the rest of the group.
Stilla little shaken the teen led her new friend back into the hallway, glancing behind her before closing the door. As shaken up as she was she was also seriously puzzled. What was that?
As they joined the group Chailee found herself drawn to the fading light of the window. It was a much appreciated amount of light after her little run in with whatever it was. Then a thought hit her. “Maybe we can get out this way?” She glanced at the window frame and began to wonder if maybe they were too high up for an escape from a window?

Matt Duffyis going to the stairs. {Phone and Cord Weapon}
The nurse seemed to snap back into her somewhat seemingly normal self when Matt, Kyle, and a few other concerned members of the group checked on her to see if she was at least alright. A part of him seemed to be a little bothered by her, maybe more that he didn't entirely trust her but that could have been his own paranoia driving him to that feeling. Still she had seemed a little too happy for him earlier.
Finding Kyle again he followed along the group behind the nurse, everyone seemed on edge a few more so than others as if there had been something they had seen to disturb. Reaching the elevator, he wasn't the least bit surprised that they didn't work considering they were running on reserved power. It would mean taking the stairs, not even considering the window as a viable option.

Kyle - acquired broken IV pole (roll 1d12 for damage)
The tour of the new state of the art hospital facility was all in all an eye opening experience and everything that Kyle could hope for to inspire him to put his best foot forward in his studies so that he could work in such a facility upon his graduation. Hopefully the hospital would still be receptive to new interns and residents then!
Like Nurse Harmony and many others in the group, Kyle wasn't worried too much initially when the lights suddenly went out on them. Hospitals were required to have backup generators in the event of a power outage like this so those should kick in anytime now along with the emergency lights. It was only when the voice that suddenly came on over the speaker system introduced himself as General Obsidian and began talking about them not making it out of the hospital facility alive that he truly started to worry for his own safety as well as Matt's.
A crazy psychopathic war relic or one of the Negaverse that seek to terrorize Destiny City? Has anyone tried calling the police? The cops should be able to do something about this right?
He turned to look at Matt when he felt his hand on his, surprised at how calm his mentor was. That's right Kyle. No point panicking at how things have turned out. So long as everyone stuck together and fought off whatever was coming to get at them, they would find a way out of this together somehow. It was with that thought in mind that he gave Matt's hand a small squeeze back then picked out a broken IV pole which he could use to defend himself with.
Hopefully he wouldn't have to use that. Hopefully...

Checking on Nurse Harmony (Option 3)
Kyle had stayed as close as he could to Matt the entire time while trying not to jump at every sound that seemed to reverberate down the hallway. He stopped mid-stride however when he thought he heard what seemed like a child's crying.
Was that for real or a trap to break their group up and lead those investigating the sound to certain death?
Trying to block out the sound from his mind, Kyle decided to follow Matt's lead in checking on Nurse Harmony who looked as if she was about to have some sort of mental breakdown on her part. "It'll be ok. We just got to keep our heads together and work our way through this." He chipped in after his mentor though it was probably not terribly convincing given his own state of mind at the moment.
It was worth a shot nonetheless though and he really hoped that she would be be able to draw some strength from it and pull herself together.

Investigate the window (Option 2)
It might not be much but Kyle was glad that his words along with those contributed by others in the group who were concerned about Nurse Harmony managed to get through to her in the end.
Alright. Time to make a bee line towards the nearest exit that was avail to them!
With the power outage, it was a given that the elevators wouldn't be working as well which meant that they would have to take the stairs. Finding his attention drawn to the large window that the group had to pass en route to the stairwell, Kyle couldn't resist stopping for a moment to take a peek through it.

Kathryn (broken IV Pole) - checking out the window
Kathryn wasn't sure what she was expecting to find once the source of the crying came apparent. Stopping just outside the door Kathryn followed Chailee inside and held back by the entrance way. It was perhaps foolish to admit to herself but she was glad that another had taken the initiative to check on the figure that was in the middle of the room. Although not the most standard Kathryn wasn't sure if she wanted to actually approach the crying thing. And maybe that was the right call. Kathryn almost recoiled in shock as the thing's head rose up revealing non-human features. Kathryn grasped her IV pole in case she needed to fend whatever it was off but all of a sudden the creature disappeared into thin air.
Backing out of the room Kathryn followed Chailee as she stopped at the window and glanced out at the dying sunlight. Hopefully that wasn't a metaphor for what was coming. Kathryn glanced at the IV pole that she was carrying and gently tapped it against the window. It possibly wouldn't do anything but maybe she could break the glass. "I wonder if it could be that easy."
It seemed that the nurse was fine, at least, and she'd also plucked up her courage to join the group in heading forward and along. Cerissé looked back at Tristan and nodded. "Shall we?"
As the group started off down the hall, she couldn't help but wonder if this would be a test for her as part of the Negaverse to come out alive or if she'd be punished if she failed, the same as everybody else.
With what she knew, it was probably a fly or die situation. She looked at the useless bedpan in her hand again and wondered if it would be any help. "Sure hope we don't end up needing these..." she said with a deep sigh as they made their way further down the hallway.
As it came to an end, she glanced around between the window and the sign pointing down the stairs.
It was the guardian who directed her to the door, and she opened it carefully, only to hear the feline yowling in response to whatever they saw within. The sound of something skittering across the floor towards her made Lilith hold up the oxygen tank and IV pole like weapons, stumbling backwards, and that sound--and just like that. Nothing. Shivering, she made her way back to the main group, just in time to begin... heading out? The elevator wasn't working, but she didn't mind having to use the stairs, since the guardian was kind enough to give her a makeshift cane.
What was going on here?

While she was happy to see the nurse was ok, to see how pale Lilith was when she came back concerned her greatly. What had happened..? Not that they got much of a chance to sit back and think about it, or ask, quickly moving to the stairwell since the elevator was down.
No shock there.
When they got near a window though, she paused, trying to take a peek outside and see if anyone had gotten out yet.
Despite how bad or how good of a choice it was, she'd gone with the woman to investigate the noise, directing her to the room that seemed to be the source of the sound. When the other opened the door, she stepped in quickly, her eyes adjusting quickly to the odd lighting. A woman..?
Or. Not. The way the twisted, mangled woman screamed and moved made Réalta yowl and hiss, backing up quickly but positioning herself between the creature--youma? didn't feel like one so what was it?--and her now charge. But just like that, the... specter? Vanished.
Rattled, and still rumbling with a yowl, she directed her back towards the group, quickly accompanying her down the stairs.
Tristan Lestrange - With the Bedpan - Stairs (Look, they're his favorite!)
Tristan didn't like any of this at all. Things were happening at a fast and alarming rate in which he wasn't prepared for. Not for the first time did he wish that he was anyone but himself.
And, he had to wonder why he bothered leaving the house and doing things when stuff like this kept happening.
Relieved that Nurse Harmony appeared to be doing decent enough, he nodded at her and made his way towards joining the rest of the group. "Wish I could say I'm surprised they targeted a hospital..." He mumbled, more to himself than the people around him and he stilled in the hall, looking at the window and then the stairwell.
Flash backs of the bloody and bubbling fish from a few weeks ago had him recoiling away from it.
"Stairs. Definitely stairs." He went straight for them.
