"Yeah, how about it Miss Aari?" He tugged her hand in close, settling it on his hip as he moved just a touch bit closer to her. It was as close as he dared get at the moment; just enough to push the boundaries, but not enough to tip things into dangerous territory for him.
"It might not fully cure me, but it would be a good place to start." The kiss might not quell the anger in his soul, but it would do something to massage his bruised ego. To help bring his self-esteem back to less toxic levels and maybe...complete the scene he'd built with her that night.
"Can you do it, Princess? Or do you have too much fire in you to kiss a fish?"

Aari gasped as she was tugged closer, and, for a flicker of a moment, she was reminded of being pulled toward the man she had nearly been married off to... The differences were clear though. Nyko's hand was firm, but not rough. Nyko's smile, as sharp as it was, was not malignant. Nyko's eyes were alert, not lecherous. She let out a long breath to calm herself.
She could easily remember that night now. The dancing had been freeing and fun. She had been able to forget where she was, for just a short time. Nyko had guided her to a place of peace, outside of her restrictions. ..If only she could do the same for him. Giving the man's hip a light squeeze, she straightened her back and took a small step forward as well, pushing the space that Nyko had set. "Are you sure you are not too fish to be kissed by fire?" she pushed back, heart thudding from the electricity in her body at this very new dance. "You should not be so concerned.. the ice will sooth any affect of the fire."
Halim, seeing things were a little more serious than he had realized, rolled his eyes and turned his attention with a huff back to the stall they were gathered near. Why were adults so silly?

He didn't know what the subtle shift in Aaricia was about, but he thought it had something to do with her finally getting that he wasn't going to be the same. At least, he hoped so. In so many ways Nyko was the same man, but any part of his old life was like a bitter, citrus fruit being squeezed into the open sores that lined his spine.
No matter how much he wished they weren't.
Smirking, Nyko took his free hand and placed it at the base of her neck, smoothing his fingers around the hair lining her scalp. When he'd weasled his hold to the back of her head, gentle, for all his sharpened edges, he pulled her close and kissed her.
It was anything, but chaste. In that one kiss there were all of his vulnerabilities, his anger, his passion, the zest for life that refused to die; all wrapped up in a boy who found himself enjoying the way the hybrid girl's lips tasted.

The power behind the kiss was intense.. but Aari was still too inexperienced to truly be able to feel every emotion suddenly coming at her. A spark shot down along her back, and she was pressing just a little more against the warm body without realizing it.
It did suddenly make one thing clear though. Asking Nyko to be the boy he was before was akin to someone asking her to be the innocent youngling she had been in Zena, or the meek daughter she had been with her father. She could never go back to either of those states. Too much had happened.
Nyko wasn't a servant boy anymore. Nyko was.. well.. certainly not a boy anymore...
Halim had contented himself with looking at the display, now chatting up the stall owner about fishing, though the adult seemed rather disinterested in the topic. The man even sighed and attempted to wave at the pair. "Oy! Take the boy home and get a room for yourselves. Your smooching is scaring away my customers."

He held her close, sliding his body against the length of her own. His hand kept hers tight against his hip while the other explored her hair, drawing the woman closer towards him. Nyko paused in his endeavor onto to breath and would have continued more had they not been interrupted.
One thing was clear; she wasn't the same girl he'd left behind in the garden. He wanted to know more about this woman; about what had changed her, what brought her to this backwater village in Matori, and why she was so reluctant to talk about it. They both had their own demons, but maybe, just maybe, they could share them with one another.
Nyko pulled away with a mischievous grin, one that was only broken by the harried way he was breathing, betraying his otherwise 'cool' appearance. He licked his lips, taking in the last bits of her scent before stepping away, putting some distance between the two of them.
"Come on now, Halim, we should start looking for your mother before it gets too late."

For being part of the fire clan, she had never felt her skin heated in such a way.. Though they were in the desert heat, the air that slipped between their bodies as they slowly parted felt cool...
The heat continued radiating from her cheeks and lips though, worked up with the new sensations. Nyko seemed.. affected as well... It was a sight that kept the heat right where it was on her, even as she backed up a step. "Y-yes.. Let's go find your mother, Halim..."
Perking up at his name, Halim jumped up and hurried over. "Finally!" he chirped. Without a second thought, he grabbed both Aaricia's hand and Nyko's, tugging them along while describing his mother for Nyko's benefit.
