Chase had thought that the conversation had ended, or was ending, until Silk's voice posed a very thoughtful response he hadn't been expecting. Dia had let things lie when she probed and he had made it clear that he wasn't going to get into the circumstances around his disappearance. Despite the fact that so much time had passed, a lot of it was still fresh and raw for him.

"Not everything I can control, despite how I present it." He replied carefully, fingers stilling against the dark fur as he adjusted to sit up properly again. "I'm concerned about her safety in relevance to me. My reaction to Dia was...violent, as an understatement. She's an eternal. Unless something drastic has happened since I have been gone..." He had no idea what rank she stood at. Dia's information on the stardust senshi was lacking at best.

"But, you're right. Leaving them in total darkness is unfair. I just need some time to readjust. I have been gone a long time, been around things that I hope none of you have to experience." He slid his tongue across his teeth contemplatively. "But I've got you right? We'll figure it all out, again."

Silk was uncharacteristically tense as he waited for Chase's response. It was a very odd feeling for him. He had never cared before about contradicting someone, in fact, it's pretty much what he made his life out of doing, but it was all different with Chase. He actually respected the man.

The kitten nodded his head slowly, things starting to click now, and he let out a soft breath he didn't know he was holding. With it went the tension. "Yeah---" It came out a little too soft, so the kitten cleared his throat, and bobbed his head. "Yeah. Okay. I get that, and it's important you take that time to readjust!" Something about putting on a good face or something he thought, whatever. At the question, Silk bobbed his head more vigorously.

"Of course you got me, Chase! And yeah, we will!" The promise within the words made him happy again, and the kitten immediately started a soft purr.

Chase was grateful that Silk appeared to understand. His cat had raised some very good points that he couldn't ignore.

Still, he had made his decisions and he would stand by them for now. He would get better, he was determined to, and then they would work back together an be the team they'd once been. Maybe not everyone would still stand with him but those that did would surely be rewarded.

Labyrinthite had much to give, he was certain.

Fingers scratched between the kitten's ears. "We'll figure it out." Until then, he was content to enjoy the company of the purring kitten on his lap as he thought about his next moves.

Content to not fill the silence---with words, anyways---Silk loafed there on his human, continuing to purr softly. For the first time in a very long time, things were starting to go right in his world again. It could only go up from here.
